Graphics have always been ancillary. I could play (and have played) games with triangles, squares and circles, and had a blast. The graphics are more than adequate. Listen to the voice acting and read the codex, I guarantee the graphics will become one of the last things you're thinking about.

I am more than happy that they took time to make the game WORK and not spend months and months on making high res textures for environments that I don't pay attention to while pushing out a completely crappy game. Load times are hugely reduced by the less intensive graphics and it makes it easier and more enjoyable for all of us that dont have the latest graphic card.

I think the graphics look pretty good, just need a little refinement when your in combat, so when you sword hits someone it looks and sounds like it hit someone.. And when you block the sound needs to be alittle bit better so you hear it bounce off your weapon or shield. Nothing drastic though.

I have 2 gtx275's in SLI and have aa Maxed in game, and I'm happy with how things look..

Sure your sword and shield float behind your body, but that is typical of Bioware games.

I couldn't agree more...
When I'm playing this game, I'm more focused on the story, lore, making the best tactics possible for combat, eliminating the darkspawn and help people of Ferelden than the graphics...... ;)

Not having the greatest graphics ever is one thing. Most of the people complaining don't want that either, no matter what all the "story first, noone cares about graphics" people cry. But there is no excuse for having obvious low resolution textures. Those would looked bad a few years ago either. It gets worse when some textures look great and others bad. Fixing that wouldn't have taken up man-years.

They have too many low resolution textures, they look good from a distance, but you get up close and you can tell how awful it looks.

Am i the only one, who thinks cryis graphics are horrible? and warhead is the same. grey, dull and no visual greantess at all.

Mmh... I think you should use eyeglasses... Yes, yes....

No honestly, i played both games and i find the graphics not that great.  basicly, ive seen better.

I cant say anything about DA:O as my game doesnt unlock until 7 hours from now =/

Just to make an example, I think that The Witcher, that uses the AURORA engine, is so much, artistically speaking, better than this. It seems that locations have been made with a great hurry, there's no attention for the detail, everything seems so empty and "washed out"... It's a pity, because storyline and dialogues are beautiful.

Mmh... Maybe you're talkin' about level design, but CE2 is the best good-looking engine ever made since 2007. Have you ever seen the mods? Just do some tweaking and the game looks almost photorealistic.
But we're off topic, I think it's better to stop. :D

Am I the only one that thinks this game has f'n great graphics?

Mind you, I don't only consider the technical aspect when I look at how good graphics look.

Sure, this game is definitely not the most technically proficient graphically and there are textures that look ugly. But, when it all comes together with the lighting and the art-direction I think it looks amazing. This game isn't designed for you to go around getting super-close up looks at the textures just to ****** over how super defined they are.

The character models are great. The animations are great. The graphics (artistically great, technically good). It all comes together to make a F'n awesome presentation.

Also, I'm super happy that my laptop can run at maximum settings (1900x1200) and perform as smooth as butter.

Since several more hours of play with FRAME-BUFFER OFF, I can safely say the game looks much better than I said before...OVERALL. However, the aforementioned bad textures are still there..no matter what spin you put on it...there simply are some VERY bad textures in this game. Not even average quality...if you havn't seen the picture of the wagon texture then you need to look at it again and if you think this texture is average or above..you have not played many games.

The Story, Combat and Voices are terrific though and have really drawn me in like no other..and the textures have had limited effect on my playing since turning off Frame-Buffer. There is some sorta serious problem with Frame-Buffer that makes everything so over the top bright that the textures stand out much worse..

So everyone make sure to turn frame-buffer off. Then you'll just have to ignor some of those bad textures until a patch comes out or someone mods it.

I will say I just finished the werewolf/Lady of the Forest quests and wow..just wow. (Some very nice visuals and story and voice and combat..VERY NICE)

looks great on my p.c. it's not a fps so it is not up to crysis standards. But for rpgs it pretty solid.

The game is designed to be played in top-down mode, just because you can zoom in to "over-the-shoulder" view doesn't mean that you should spend a lot of time with that view. This game is along the lines of NWN and BG, as such it should be played that way. Bioware including a zoom-in feature for the game is only going to hurt the game, in the perception of bad graphics, imo.

Again, the graphics for the most part look pretty decent..it's the low res textures used in many places that are bad... clearly bad. Look at the proof in this thread...the statue and wagon are solid proof.

Again still though, the game still looks pretty good, especially when you go out of tactical mode so that lighting effects and stuff show (in doors, like the ruins).

I think that is a rather silly argument because the game actually looks better zoomed in, because when you zoom out you often lose effects from lighting and torches and such that are near roofs.   When you zoom out the top levels because invisible (obviously) thus making your point kinda off.  I get what you are saying though, but with the mentioned textures they look bad even zoomed all the way out, they are low-res and just flat out bad..that's the point.  Not sure how a couple of them wouldn't have been fixed before release.

Still again, I'd rather have the great story, voices, etc than them worry about fixing every little graphic..but I don't know how some of them could not have been noticed and said, wow, those are bad, lets fix them.

Bad textures, bad graphics? I don't see any of these problems. The game looks really great.

too subjective...fine for some "terrible" for others.

i'm playing the PS3 copy and I will say that I was very underwhelmed by the way distant objects (mountain ranges, lakes, trees) are rendered. Despite being disappointed by this aspect (and some targeting issues I experienced)...

I got over it real quick because the game is so full of awesome in other places. enjoy the game ;)

I have to agree with the consensus on the graphics. I'm on a PS3 on a 1080p tv, and it makes the graphics look even worse. Everything else about the game measures up to the hype I've heard, and I'm enjoying it, but for a brand new game the graphics really don't live up to the rest of the experience.
