Maybe EA is going to stick it to us and add an option for better graphics as a MT later. Joy. .

I think what I would say is that the graphics seem a bit inconsistent. Granted, I haven't been playing that long so I don't have a whole plethora of examples, but the textures early on (for my human noble warrior) looked much lower resolution than textures that appeared slightly later on. Resolution of textures seems to vary pretty radically between areas.
Note: this is on the PS3 version.
Definately inconsistent..that has come up time and again throughout this thread...heck if all the graphics were bad at least it would be consistent

Sorry for repeating, then. Just got the game today, played for...eh...eight hours straight? And didn't want to spend another hour reading through an 18 page thread

Look at the floor..two of the seemingly same textures..one of them looks fine (the small middle area) then right next to it the seemingly same texture is completely blurry...is this intentional? Unfinished? Or is something wrong?

Oh and I wasn't complaining about your repeating the inconsistent thing...I was just agreeing with you..that it is a huge problem..just like my picture shows.

Even a BioWare dev has acknowledged as much in this thread that something's up. But how is it any better to come out with a knee-jerk reaction in the opposite direction. Terrific, I'm glad the graphics are perfect for you. Let's move on with something more constructive, like ways to adjust the game so it's more to your liking.
It's possible to like the story *and* the graphics in an RPG.

Actually, I believe I said they weren't loading right. Andrew said they were LOD textures with the incorrect prefix, making a texture stretch on a object in lower resolution than it is supposed to be. Very common practice in game design, actually.NewYears1978 wrote...
Ashiywolf...good luck finding answers..Devs have not responded to this page since a few early responses which just said yeah the textures look like they aren't reloading right...
Also, he said people would do themselves as well as others a favor if we took as many screenshots of the objects with these texture errors as possible (fence and wagon, statues I believe are mentioned so far) and then they can fix it from there.
It shouldn't be a topic about whether the graphics look great or bad anymore. I think that's improper and only serves to prolong the issue getting fixed. I've been going through the game and seen the same mistakes, so it's not a unique situation for any of you.
And it's still an enjoyable game, it'll just be even more enjoyable if it gets fixed. It'd be even easier with the toolset.

I am play with everything cranked up to the max, 1920 x 1200 and the charcaters models look good enough. Such a shame - still its a great game though

Game looks really good on my PC with widescreen res, in-game options up all the way, and video card options up all the way.
I remember when games were about gameplay, which this has tons of.

The Topic doesn't say "Crappy game because the gfx suckz!!!11", all it says it's that the Graphics are bad so it's completely irrelevant if the gameplay is good or not, since it's not being discussed here.
I also think that the graphics are lacking in some departments (Observe, "graphics" in this sentence does NOT mean "gameplay").
The Characters are awesome in my book- high quality with lots of details.
The envirorment is not as awesome. Frankly a lot of it is low-res textures and the wilds looked as if it was done in the NWN2 engine. No-watersplashes, no vegetation physics.
I'm dissapointed concerning the envirorment graphics, but not with the characters nor the gameplay.

that´s the sad point.. maybe Bioware shouldn´t have even tried to make good graphics and gone with an old engine, so all these graphic lovers would have been abondoned from begin on, instead of the constant whining now.NewYears1978 wrote...

This post contains valid points for this thread. Note though, you'll get more brownie points if you take screenshots of what you mean and post them here.

Unable to parse image, image may contain corrupt data
which is aggrevating as the images are vanilla DAO screen shots.
I am starting to not be concerned anymore anyway as lots more folks are beginning to see the issues. I think BIOWARE really REALLY should have focused more on the human nobels starting areas especially since they put the word origins in the title. I was so underwhelmed right off the bat that I thought what I was seeing was the best it was going to be. It actually gets better, lots.
Bioware, could have avoided this.
Oh, and fix the pudding.

With a game as good as this, who even pays attention to what the graphics look like? Not me, I just enjoy the game. And sometimes watch the beautiful scenery. Because the graphics are fine.

Graphics are not so important for this game anyways. I played BG2 again a few years ago and still thoroughly enjoyed it despite the very dated graphics. It's all about the storyline, gameplay and characters.
