I have yet to really hear anyone actually address the textures. Everyone just says we're all whiny babies who don't understand that graphics don't matter in RPGs. I'm still trying to figure out whether this is a bug or how the game is supposed to run.
I just want to know if you guys see the screenshots of the wagon or the column that was just posted and say, "That is exactly what it looks like in my game and I think it's beautiful, or at least not bad." Because obviously this is all subjective, I'm not sure we're all talking about the same thing.

I'm just curious, all the people saying the game looks great/not bad, have you looked at the screenshots people have posted? Do you not see those same textures, or do you just think those textures look good or not bad?

It sounds more like a bug to me, that has to do with the hi-res textures not loading. I'm shure that it will be fixed in a future update, look how often updates came out for nwn I and II.
Still, I'm in Spain and don't have the game yet so I caan't be abolutely sure, but it does seem more like a bug than an actual issue with the game itself.

Unless this is a known issue / bug, then I suspect at somepoint in time the PC mod community might be able to make things looker sharper / more detailed.
Regardless, I'm still positive the game won't dissapoint me.

Am i the only one, who thinks cryis graphics are horrible? and warhead is the same. grey, dull and no visual greantess at all.
I actually whole heartedly agree with you. Every time someone says this isn't going to look like Crysis I cringe, because I think Crysis was terribly ugly. I got through the first one, but uninstalled Warhead after half an hour becausae the gameplay was so mundane and the promised graphical prestige just wasn't there. Admittedly this was on DX9 Gamer 1080p, so maybe enthusiast DX10 makes a world of difference, but...

It won't, it's a fantastic game and I'm loving every minute of it, even with the weird textures.

Consider asking for a DLC graphic upgrade. Maybe for a small number of points even if not free.

I'm sorry. I'm not being childish but that looks like poop for a 2009 AAA game. That is a 2meg unedited PNG.
That's at max textures 8xaa 16af(forced) Like they forgot to finish it?? Reminds me of everquest.
Your memory sucks.

If you want the latest hardware-pushing graphics, go for the Annual games that EA pushes out on a yearly basis. Sure, they may only be 5 hours long, the gameplay maybe 99% the same as last year's edition, but at least this time the Shifter-knob inside your car's cabin has a realistic leather look!
The truth is, there are only so many resources. You can either spend 80% of them on a cutting-edge graphics engine, or you can use one that's not super-ultra-high-mega-quality (that only the latest Quad-SLI GeForce GTXX1000's can actually display at high resolutions with a decent framerate) and pump up the ENTIRE REST OF THE GAME.
I'm glad BioWare chose the latter.

Umm, you can go ahead and take screenshots of blocky textures all day long for all I care. In the meantime, I'll be enjoying the game. :innocent:
But you're not, you are reading the forums...
