If a spinoff of DAO was created, which pre-existing character would be the best choice to center the story around -- Leliana, Morrigan, Alistair. Shale, or some other choice of character (such as Zathrian, Connor, or whoever)?

Explain your choice.  Are there certain questions in particular you would like to see answered in the spinoff?

Personally, I would enjoy a game that had Leliana as central character. Maybe with a trip to Orlais and some bardic intrigues at that locale. Marolaine might or might not make an appearance. Leliana would re-enter the Chantry as a humble sister for a while, and meditate deeply on the meaning of the blighted rose that blooms anew.

Alistair makes a cameo appearance in the tale, admitting a heretofore unvealed love for Leliana, but the romance falters under the pressures of Leliana's Chantry overseers.

Bards learn some new songs in this tale: anti-magic songs in particular.

Just dreaming, of course.

I'd also like to have a close look at Val Royeaux, and have a listen to some of the singing therin.

Orlesian Wardens were referred to as "chevaliers" by Loghain. which suggested to me that they were horsemen. Be interesting to see how Orlesian culture influenced the Wardens there.

I'd like to see a puzzle involving a rose garden or maze. Maybe one where one must choose between the material and the spiritual before one can escape the maze or find the exit to the garden.

Ah, there is so much from Arthurian lore and legend that could be worked into this story.

zevran and hiis adventues. he tells stories about them and cant help but think, hey i wanna do that! even after the blight you know hes not ging to settle down and be a farmer or whatever. it would be uber-fun to be zevran

Zevran would be good choice, too. It opens up the possibility of Zev having further dealings with the Anitivan Crows, andthere could be some related scenes in Antiva along those lines. Zev becoming the new leader of the Crows, maybe?

Depending on how the Trial of Crows is played, the Wardensthemselves may have been invited to have futher dealings with the Crows. How far the Wardens would align themselves with the Crows is an interesting question in itself.

Playing Meric's story would be nice I think. I could also see some interest in playing Andraste's story as well.
