I wish to dedicate this thread to the creation of new:
 
Weapons,
Weapon Mods,
Ammo Mods,
Ammo Powers for single player
Consumables for Multiplayer
Gear for Multiplayer,
New Grenades
New melee/heavy melee
etc.


You can make them wacky.
Make them realisitic.
Make them completly bizzare.

It's entirely up to you.


If you like, you can come up with your own enemy types.

Pistol:  Casule Pistol

Lore Description: This weapon was developed by the Volus in recent times. The volus wanted a light pistol that never ran out of ammo, easy to use, cheap to maintain and with no recoil. This was to defend their businesses from pirates and mercenaries.

The problem with this concept was that, the old weapon system where shards of metal would be shaved off a an ammo block made the guns too weak and the constant overheating led to the introduction of heat clips. The Volus did not like the idea of carrying loads of heat clips. Reloading during fire fights can be a huge disadvantage when you're already outnumbered. This is because trained soldiers can reload weapons very quickly, wheras merchants and civilians don't have this kind of training.

So an alternative was sought after. Using old biotic amps, the capsule pistol was developed, turning old biotic amplifiers into minature particle accelerators able to fire small shards of metal but managing to deal more damage than other guns.

The reason the pistol is called the "Capsule Pistol" is because the firing barrel has an oval shape similiar to the shape of a capsule.

Weapon Description: This is one of those button mashing weapons. It will only fire as quickly as you can tap the fire button. Very similiar to the Phalanx but with one major difference. It has infinite ammo.

Fire Type: Semi-Automatic. Fires as quickly as you can tap the fire button.
Damage Per Shot: 60 at rank 1.  100 damage at rank 5.
Weight: 0.6-0.25
Shots before overhating: After 10 continuous shots, the weapon will completly overheat. Once the weapon has overheated, it will take 6 seconds to cooldown. To avoid this annoyance, leave 1 second gap between every 2-3 shots.

Recoil: Minimal
Accuracy: Highly accurate at both short and mid range.
Since this weapon was designed for untrained civilians, this weapon wasn't designed for long range. The weapon simply doesn't reach ranges greater than 50 metres.

Bonus: classes with biotic powers get a 10% damage bonus when wielding the capsule pistol.

SMG: Steam Train.


Lore Description:

The Steam Train is another weapon designed for civilians and merchants.
Many customers have often complained of the Uzi like nature of fully automatic sub machine guns. Poor accuracy, terrible recoil, breaks very easily and burning clips in a matter of seconds.

Kassa Fabrications worked with the Quarian fleet who were also designing weapons for Quarian civilians and came to a simple conclusion.

In order for a fully automatic sub machine gun to be more friendly to people who hadn't had any weapons training, they needed to fire slower.


Weapon Description: Highly accurate gun that continuously fires 3 rounds a second in a rhythm that resembles an old fashioned steam engine. This gun doesn't use heat clips but will overheat very quickly. The weapon is only designed for short bursts. This is to encourage people to fire more accurately rather than using the "pray and spray" mechanics.


Fire Type: Fully Automatic with an average of 3 rounds a second.
Damage Per Shot: 80 at rank 1. 160 at rank 10.
Accuracy: Highly accurate up to 20 metres. Fairly accurate from 20-30 metres. Very inaccurate 30 metres onwards.
Overheats after: 4 seconds.
Cooldown time: 6 seconds.
To prevent overheating: Stick to 2-3 second bursts.
There are mods that can increase time the weapon fires before overheating.
Weight: Slightly more than the N7 Hurricane

The Curusan Battle Rifle

Description: During their conflicts with Humans, the Batarians realized a need for a heavier rifle to circumvent Human Shielding and Kinetic Barriers. The Avenger Series already being a popular, and more importantly cheap, choice of assault rifle among the coot soldier, the Batarians chose to develop a battle rifle, which was regaining popularity amongst galactic markets.

Named after an ancient type of curved sword used by highland tribes in reference to it wavy frame, the Curusan was accurate, powerful, and dependable enough that after limited testing amongst the Batarian Special Interventions Unit, it became standard issue in squad formation.

The Curusan fires a two shot burst with minimal recoil, and while it doesn't deal as much damage as other battle rifles, this is compensated by it's moderate rate of fire, and it's large ammunition supply.

Accuracy: Moderate
Range: Mid Range
Recoil: Light

I have 3 more contributions before I hand it over to you wonderful guys.

Turian Shockwave Launcher (Technically a heavy weapon, but is placed under shotgun category).

This weapon is a notoriously heavy weapon. It is the original shockwave spamming weapon that was used by Turian Carbals during the First Contact war. This weapon was used to tear apart barriers, shields, armour and lift nearby enemies into the air. The worst part of this gun was that the weapon itself was further amplified by biotics to do incredible amounts of damage.

The weapon has an internal biotic generator, that creates a wave of destructive energy creating a train of explosive pulses. The weapon is a mid range weapon with a reach of 20 metres and fires 5 explosive pulses in a straight line each with a radius of 3 metres.


Any biotic wielding this weapon gains a 40% damage bonus.
Non biotics will think of this weapon as a hot air machine, delivering weak shockwaves reaching 10 metres with 2 explosive pulses with a radius of 1 metre.


Damage Biotic character:  At rank 1 each explsive pulse does 1000 damage.  At rank 10 each explosive pulse does 1500 damage.

Force Biotic Character: 1000 Newtons at rank 1.  1500 Newtons at rank 10. Exclusive to biotic classes, this gun will lift enemies into the air rather than throwing them backwards.

Damage Non Biotic Character: At rank 1 each explosive pulse does 600 damage. At rank 10 each explosive pulse does 900 damage.

Force Non Biotic Character: 600 Newtons at rank 1. 900 Newtons at rank 10. Unlike biotic classes this gun will only throw enemes backwards.


Capacity at rank 1: 1 shockwave per clip. 10 clips.
Capacity at rank 10: 1 shockwave per clip. 15 clips.

Accuracy: Not important due to radius of the explosive pulses it will hit nearby enemies in a predictable fashion.

Range: Short/mid range weapon. 20 metres.

Special: The shockwave launcher can setup and detonate biotic explosions.
With warp ammo the range is increased to 25 metres regardless of whether the person wielding the weapons has biotic powers or not.

Weight: Slightly less heavy than the Black Widow

The Chytrid Assault Carbine

Description: Looking for a light weapon that still packed enough firepower for individual members, Salarian Manufactures explored several avenues of thought applied to weapons. The Scorpion was the result of one such project, and the Chytrid was the result of another.

Described as an 'assault carbine' it is designed as a cross between a SMG and an Assault Rifle. It is an extremely light weapon, that compensates for the low damage of individual rounds, by having a large magazine, and blistering rate of fire.

Fire Type: Automatic
Accuracy: Low-Moderate
Range: Short-Medium
Recoil: Moderate
Magazine: 75

Also, forgot to mention the magazine of my earlier weapon, 32.

I think both the Batarians and the Salarians need more weapons made by them. And the Asari. And the Turians. Krogan could use one or two more.

I think it's much more likely everyone uses their own weapons that they make, rather than using mostly Human guns, especially considering we all have different frames, and different hands. Some humans aren't even able to hold a Desert Eagle, since their hands are two small, and the fact that most weapons are right-handed, and some people are left-handed.

Hmmm, weapons may not be my strong suit, but I'll take a crack at it. and since this thread is about weapons being invented and not classes or charaters, mind if we pos other aspects of the game like gear? I've got a few that just need to be put into the game

Weapon: Artemis

Type: Sniper rifle
Damage: 8/10

Description: The Artemis weapon was a weapon created by an Asari scienctist who was facisnated by the myths of the aceint greek godess, and used her as inspiration for a specialty weapon. The idea behind the Artemis was to create a very heavy hitting weapon that was still extremly light for commando units to use at range when they risked using to much energy on biotics or thier biotics were ineffecitve. It uses small botic amp to create a mass lowering feild around the weapon, levitating the thermal projectile in a feild that looks oddly like a bow, before using very small motors to shoot the projectile. Which is now so incredibly light that the slightest push is able to send it soaring at high speeds, enabling for the smallest amount of machinery to be used. Resulting in a high-power, low weight weapon. and since the weapon is powered by a biotic amp, it needs no ammo, but has a cooldown period after firing its three shot capacity. Also, because the amp must be as small as possible, it takes time to create both the projectile and the lift feild, resulting in a very low rate of fire.

Art: the weapon itself is a small, purple U-shaped weapon with a small space straigh down the middle. When it is fired it must be charged, at firts a purple feild appears around the weapon, then it soldifies into a bow shape, with the U being the bow and the biotics being the string. shortly after a small thermal projectile forms inside the bowstring, which grows larger until occupying the whole length of the weapon, the the user fires at the desired target, the projectile flies at lightning speeds and the bowstring dissapears shortly after.

Total firing time is 3 seconds, after using all 3 projectiles the botic ampp takes 6 seconds to rechagre before giving 3 more rounds

Great description of an interesting weapon that is aided by biotics.

The FL-1 Maneater Laser Rifle

Race: Turian

Description: Due to Citadel Conventions, Laser Weaponry is banned on the battlefield, however fringe groups have used such weapons for centuries. Since the start of the Reaper War, the Citadel Conventions have been largely ignored, allowing the Primacy to put these weapons back into the hands of trained soldiers.

The Maneater (rough translation) is a polished version of an old classic, that uses the basics of Laser principles to fire, making it a dependable weapon. It has been refitted with modern materials and software, and retrofitted with modern heat-sinks allowing ease of operation. It is a precise, and devastating weapon, being able to quote "cut through armor like a searing scalpel through butter".

It's precision, devastating firepower, and dependability is offset only by it's heavy weight, a carry-over from it's older design, designating to heavier troops.

Thanks! to each thier own though, I'd have to say it's just my style, I love to make outgoing new creations. and now that I've done one weapon, cant wait to see what I formulate next!

This next one is less something I could actually see, more something I have as personal head-cannon

The Asanid Sniper Rifle

Race: Reaper

Description: Aptly named for the Turian spirit of unforeseen death, this sniper rifle is placed in the hands of Ghosts (Salarian-Husks), who use the weapon for three purposes.

An attached hook at the bottom is used in conjuction with others on the Ghosts body to scale heights to find proper sniping positions. This hook doubles as a tripod when the ghost aligns it's body at the proper angle, and is also sometimes used as a melee weapon.

It's second function, which earned it's nickname, is as a sniper rifle. If fires a shot generated from an organ transplanted within the Ghosts body that lies within the main chamber of the gun. Using of form of magnetic rails, or something similar, the shot is enveloped with a phasic coating that not only minimilizes noise, but allows it to penetrate most helmets worn by foot soldiers, used for maximum psychological effect in brief moments before firefights.

The third function is used only when the Ghost is in close proximity. The Sniper barrel folds back along the arm of the Husk, and a secondary barrel, fed by a secondary ammo chamger, is extended, and the Asanid becomes a one handed sub-machine gun, however this is not the preferred use of the weapon.

While difficult to dissect from the Husks body, scientists have still managed to find ways of making the weapon useable once detached from the Ghosts Body, and has even become a favored weapon amongst guerilla fighters, and select specialists.

The Blue Death

Race: Reaper

Description: The main rifle of the Commandant class (Husks like Marauders and Collectors) this weapon is designed more to maim and wound than to kill outright. It fires a flechete round coated in plasma that causes greivious wounds amongst all species. The plasma coating causes severe burns, and light radiation poisoning amongst all but the Turians, the flechete round enters the flesh, tumpling, causing severe bleeding, and oftentimes infection.

A weapon of the Commandant class, it is not attached to the body of the husk, and is much more easily retrieveable, making it a common choice of weapon for a soldier running low on thermal clips.

It's nickname is derived from the blue projectiles it shoots.

Weapon type: shotgun

Description: a weapon developed to be used by batarian headhunters as a dual-use weapon both for setting up ambushes and dealing with hordes of enemies when things turned sour. In true Batarian style this weapon is as brutal as pssible, a salvo of omni-needles not unsimilar to ballistac blades are fired from the shotgun. However unlike Ballistac blades this gun uses thermal clips to pre-create and maintain the needles, allowing for them to stay much longer before dissipating. while each needle may not deal much damage, it fires a very large number of them, and each causes an extra 80% bleeding damage over 10 seconds. however since it is meant for dealing with hordes it has a very wide spread, which can be an advantdge or disadvantdge.

The main unqiue ability of this weapon is that it can be used to set up ambushes, whenever the blades are shot at anything besides an enemy, they have such force they impale themselves into the ground. After wich they stay there for 25 seconds, any enemy stepping over the feild of many, many blades will take damage equal to the bleeding damage of the weapon until they step out. enabling it to be ideal for creating choke points, this ability cant be used at range since it would spread to much for there to be a chance of the enmy to step on the needles. and if any more than 2 shots are fired, it dissapears.

Art: the gun itself is barrel shaped, rather larged with a honey-combed shaped barrel where the many nedlee projectiles fire from. the needles themselves look almost identical to ballistac blades, but are a bit longer.

The Gerindale Acid Shotgun

Race: Reaper

Description: Reffering to a particularly nasty form of execution once practised by the Salarians, this is another Commandant class weapon, meant to be used for security in Reaper Death Camps, and when clearing buildings of survivors. The weapon uses a canister of acid brewed by the Reapers.

It possesses a unique firing technique among weapons. Holding down the trigger after an initial shot, and pumping the barrel causes the weapon to fire the acid in a stream rather than a burst, causing a lethal, but short rain of acid upon the opponents.

While innefective against shields, and more so against armor, it causes tremendous damage, and lasting burns against flesh. While not commonly used on the frontlines, it is nevertheless a popular choice amongst Resistance members, due to it's relatively simple design compared to much more complex Reaper weapons.

They do, but I chock that up to Laziness on Bioware's part. I think it would be much more likely the Reapers would desing their own weapons, I mean, they have had fifty thousand years to design them, right? Also, this is my personal head-cannon.

Saboteur (assault rifle)

Lore:
During the Krogan Rebellions, the Turians and Salarians wanted to find new ways easily dispatching enemy Krogan. After much hard work, they decided to design a weapon that was basically a hand held omnitool with a series of debuffs.

Description: The weapon creates a series energic particles that build up a powerful electric current that will zap enemies from a long distance. In addition there is a small generator that fires a burst of biotic energy that will also hit the target. The result is a weapon that sets up biotic explosions and tech bursts. It also makes enemy weapons less powerful, stuns unprotected enemies and weakens shields/barriers and armour.

The weapon itself does not do any actual damage though...


Fire Type: Fires a single shot and then has a 5 second cooldown at rank 1.
Has a 3 second cooldown at rank 10.

Weakenings:
At rank 1 Barriers/shields and armour will take 10% extra damage from all attacks.
At rank 10 Barriers/shields and armour will take 20% extra damage from all attacks.

Tech Burst Damage:  1000 damage at rank 1. 1500 damage at rank 10. (could be more depending on the detonating power)

Biotic Explosion Damage: 1000 damage at rank 1. 1500 damage at rank 10. (could be more depending on the detonating power)

About Detonations: Cannot detonate both tech bursts and biotic explosions. Biotic detonators will only detonate the biotic explosions setup by this weapon and tech detonating powers can only detonate the tech bursts setup by this weapon.


Weight: Weighs as much as the Avenger assault rifle.

The Hyderanz Machine Pistol

Race: Turian

Description:

The SMG of choice amongst Turians, this weapon is designed to the be the ultimate one-handed weapons.Balanced for the recoil of the weapons fire, fitted with a handle large enough for Turian hands, easily loaded and with a high magazine, it meats it's goals quite admirably.

Actually named for an earlier weapon utilized during the Krogan rebellions, this weapon saw limited use until the Relay 343 incident with the Humans, were it saw extended use amongst Turian Engineers and Adepts, and performed so well that it was renamed the Hyderanz by the ground soldiers. Since then it has remained popular, and has even grown further during the events of the Reaper War due to it's ease of fire, and ready availabilty.

Range: Short-Medium
Recoil: Minimal
Weight: Light
Magazine: 40

One more weapon

Inseption Rifle: (Sniper Rifle) 

Lore: The Volus's biggest complaint about sniper rifles was how heavy they were. So a project was started amongst a group of Volus merchants to design a rifle that was light and easy to manage. After a couple of years  the project was abandoned due to lack of funds.

10 years later the Turian millitary looked at the research notes of the abandoned project and saw potential. Using the latest technology, they managed to produce a sniper rifle with micro calibrators. A sniper rifle that actually weighs half the weight of a mantis.

Sadly this weapon doesn't fired more like a carniflex with similiar rate of fire.

With the impending invasion of the Reapers, they were trying to think of a way to boost the weapon damage without reducing the strength. At last they came to a conclusion. The idea was to fire a mixture of different rounds in one short burst.


Description: This rifle fires 5 shots. A corrosive round, an armour piercing round, an incendiary round, a disruptor round and an explosive round simultaneously. The rifle has only one barrel and has a short 5 round burst that lasts less than a second. The micro calibrator sends the five rounds very quickly whilst cleaning out the muck inside the rifle. The micro calibrator maintins the rifle itself and has a weight reducing mechanic through use of used biotic amps.


Fire Type: 5 round burst. (This burst takes slightly more than a second).
Damage Per Burst: 800 at rank 1. 1000 at rank 10. (Assuming all rounds hit the target)
Accuracy: Moderate
Recoil: Same as Raptor
Range: 100 metres
Clip Size: 5 rounds.
Reload Time: 3 seconds
Capacity: 10 clips
Weight: Half that of a Mantis

Unique Quality: Ammo power/mod will enable a 6th and 7th round to be fired per clip.
Whilst the first five rounds will be incendiary, disruptor, explosive, armour piercing and corrosive, the 6th and 7th round will be determined by the ammo mod/power.

The Hellfire

Race: Human

Lore: An unpopular weapon amongst many due to it's innabilty to be used in a vacuum, and hazardous use while inside space station, it was nevertheless still banned by Citadel Conventions. When such conventions were repealed, flamethrowers gained new breath.

Since battlegrounds have largely been fought on Garden Planets with the Reapers, and armies looking for effective weapons regardless of their humanity, the humans designed the Hellfire Flamethrower as a means to quickly incapacitate large hordes or Husks, and has proven extremely useful against Reaper horde Tactics.

Fitted on an assault rifle frame, and fueled by a canister of flamable gel, this weapon has gained disproportionate popularity amongst galactic armies due to the simplicity of the design. It is as simple as can be, while retaining all the strong suits a flamethrower has, and because of this, other races prefer to simply purchase the weapons from the Humans, rather than try to manufacture and outdo them.

Some splendid graceful weapons with hard hitting results that would punch a hole in any foe.


Combine all the weapons on this thread and we have one hell of a new weapons pack. Don't you think?
