It's got to be a trick. Surely, it must just be a game that BioWare are enjoying?

Volus? Nah. It's a trick.

It... It has to be...

What good is physical strength when you have infinite resources and can move things with your mind?

The fact that Batman, a human with no powers whatsoever, can contend with superheros on the caliber of Superman with nothing but money, training, and determination is proof enough that a Volus with money, training, determination, and all the future's technology at his fingertips can contend with a soldier of that era.

Of course, a Volus adept wouldn't need physical strengths, just a good barrier and powerful biotics. Similar goes for the engineer. What good is physical strength, dexterity, and movement if you have the tech that they would at their fingertips?

I don't even think the Volus have biotics? Atleast, the only mention of Volus biotics is down to Red Sand, so I'm going with 'FALSE' on this evidence.

If there was a Volus, I'd expect it to be an Engineer, Sentinel, or Infiltrator without biotics. As for vaulting over cover and whatnot, I'm sure a nice propulsion system could be attached to their feet or legs to make it a smooth process. Same with ladders, similar to how Cerberus handle it. Their height is the only thing I'm wondering about, unless the devs were to restrict them from aiming over counters, and instead allow them to peek from the sides only.

I can easily imagine (and would like to see) Volus in giant mechanized combat suits, even an engineer in a smaller suit, honestly I don't see what all the fuss is over. It's not like the Volus in MP would break lore, why are people even conplaining?

Yo dawg we heard you like biotics so we put red sand in the ammo boxes so you could reload while you reload?

i might sound crazy here, but maybe make sense if they make a female volus? bear out with me for a minute here!!

we never saw females from the volus side, and there were a few times if games or movies, that the look between genders is so big, you would think they both diffrent alien types, im not saying slap random female body with volus helmet, but im just focusing on the hight issue as they bearly reach past your hips, so something drastic need to either made up, or change, otherwise most enemies going to need a rework and phantom synch kill may not even hit the volus with animation, cerberus troopers melee will go over the head, etc etc.

Oh my god, just go. Go.

Don't ruin the game for the rest of us because you can't imagine Volus being useful.

I'm sure that if they're in the game, Bioware found a way to make them work.

This was the most exciting thing I've seen about this game, don't you dare try and ruin it.

This is not only a fictional phenomena, but something that occurs plenty in real life.  It's called Sexual Dimorphism and you can see a couple of examples here. Note the image with the spiders where the female is considerably larger than the male.

"So in a universe where it's shown that you can have full AI, Geth mobile platforms built as strong as Primes yet controlled by only a program. Giant Atlas battlesuits, synthetic beings capable of mimicing hair but able to harden into a defensive matrix. A game where you can use synthetics and science to bring Shepard back to life multiple times ALL IN THE LORE That you cannot upgrade a few systems in a Volus' lifesuit?"

You don't understand. You don't want to understand. The problem isn't the suit. It is the race. Volus don't want to fight (they don't want, they don't want, they don't want, okay ?), AND they can't fight because their own body is to weak (they can't, they can't, they can't, okay ?).

And what you say is wrong. You can't enhance everything. Volus are too weak to be enhanced enough to fight reapers and others. And there is NO interest to enhance Volus when you can enhance all others race.

These ARE the rules of Mass Effect. You want, you don't want, not Bioware's problem.

Anyways, this is a troll, they will not be implemented.

90% of people asking for Volus are trolls too with their "i want a biotic god lol" (remember this volus in ME2 does nothing more than a snail).

You seem to be serious, you're almost alone, and you're STUPID.

Who died and made you the authoritative canon sentinel? You're saying it won't work because they're "too weak" and "don't want to fight." How do you know that there isn't a single volus out there that wouldn't want to do something about the giant robots destroying the universe?

My god, you sadists need to stop trying to enforce your restrictive vision over the game and let us enjoy what would be the coolest thing ever.

And that we're trolls for wanting something like that? Just because somebody doesn't share the same concept of "awesome" as you doesn't mean they don't deserve to see their dreams come to pass.

So let me get this straight, in a world where you can combine Synthetic and Organic DNA, you're complaining about how Volus can't fight because they're small and useless? B*tch please.

Personally, I hate the idea of Volus in MP. It seems really obnoxious and weird. I'd take a super-Turian with a thruster pack over a Volus any day...

All these people, all these tears.
If they are in fact included I'm making it my singular goal to master the first one I unlock then top the scoreboards as often as I can.

Just shut up about it, or at least start complaining about things you don't like for whatever trivial reason when/ if it actually becomes official.

Well... I think volus are kind of a dumb addition, but we're getting 16 classes instead of the standard 6 so who cares if 4 classes are volus when the other 12 aren't? We're getting at least one new character for every race but Salarians, so I don't see any point in being upset, even for those of us that personally don't want volus at all.

I believe Platinum difficulty negates lore too. Anyway if it is PROPERLY explained I dont see why this cant happen.

this is hilarious obviously the geth are the heretics controlled by the reapers cerberus is indoctrinated it would make no sense for them to not work together

IIRC, in one of the guidebooks, the Volus are combat-capable, they just traditionally avoid it, since their suits, if ruptured, could cause them to explode. When actually engaging in combat, they use heavier armor suits that act as both protection and allow the Volus to carry extensive weaponry. These armor suits are expensive as all hell though, and so the Volus usually keep them as ship garrisons on their naval vessels.

Perfect example of a highly simplistic and consistent lore-friendly explanation, I honestly can't imagine why anyone would think a legitimate explanation impossible when so many could be made up on the spot by a bare handful of us in this thread? It's far easier to justify than Protheans (and even Protheans could easily be justified by some long lost holdout of living Protheans being discovered where they didn't want to fight the Reapers again after surviving so barely the first time and instead chose to hide for all subsequent cycles, something that would play off dramatically with Javik and his whole vengeance thing were he ever to find them, leaving Shepherd and him to convince them to fight).

And my point is I can't imagine why anyone would possibly complain about any of these characters being added to MP, let alone think a lore-friendly explanation impossible.

my thing is the 16 chars 6 classes. i feel like its odd that there would be 4 volus' the exact number that exceeds 2 per class, also bioware has been known to be a bit trolly in the past and i certainly wouldnt put it past them. i honestly dont care if the volus will get added but i have my doubts and we will see when the dlc comes or when we get the full extent as chris has said that they wont all get dropped at once.

no quarians risk infection because they have poor immune systems, volus risk explosion because of pressurized suits
