If Bioware wants to make it (and all these other debates go away by just "making it so", then by all means.  That's fine with me, I'll enjoy MP either way.  But it's a bit of a mental cop-out if you ask me.  They've proven to be better than that in my opinion.

Idea for Bioware - Volus engineer with a supply pylon which instead of generating ammo and nades, generate CREDITS.

A Volus sure as Hell ain't gonna suicidally join the N7 Operative Program. If I were a Volus information dealer, for example, I'd give out my information and even a great deal of my wealth to allied forces to aid the war effort, not throw my life away in the most dangerous missions in the Galaxy. It'd be a waste of my talents.

This. Volus would make much more sense as suppliers than warriors. I like that BW listened to their fans. I just hate that the idiots screaming for a ****ing "biotic god" were the loudest.

Right, because managing finances isn't a valuable part of any war right?  I mean doctors aren't needed either, so issue them guns and have them get in line to catch bullets amirite?

Look at it this way.. There is a membrane that is a shield that protects the pressure inside the suit, but, it does not protect from bullets, it would simply let those pass through as it is blocking a different type of force [which is how the shields work in the ME univerese which is why shields made for blocking bullets don't block a sword well; too large a velocity differece.] So, that shield would stop decompression, but would not stop a powerful bullet. That would leave the Volus badly inujured, but would also not make them explode and would also allow medigel to be used.

At no point would this field lower, so unless the Volus' suit's systems had a complete shutdown, the Volus would not explode from a suit puncture even if the suit was damaged. It takes no new technology and no really new explaination, it's simply put a redundant self sealing suit.

I'm personally for the idea of it, as I think it would be incredibly badass, but why don't we wait and see how it might be implemented before accusing Bioware of doing to the lore what Snooki is doing to her child.

Troops = infantry units.

Therefore some kind of volus infantry exists, probably with highly specialized gear.

No race is incapable of combat. No race  would not have invested time and money into the art of taking life. What do police look like on the volus homeworld. What do the national guard look like. What does a volus terrorist look like? What does the suit that the volus bombsquad member who has to defuse the terrorist bomb look like.What does non suited volus combat look like on their homeworld. What weapons did the volus use during their 'middle ages'.

Do you think the volus have no current care for their self defense. Do you think they have no lockheed martin, no skunkworks, no darpa? No howard hughes , no richard branson. Do you think there was no volus to be the first to go into space or walk on their moon. That there was no volus hitler, or einstein. No heroes and villains in volus history. No radical thinkers. No problem solvers.

Stop thinking of the volus as a 2d paper cutout. A racist caricature of a rasping bumbling fool. The suit technology we see is equivalent to a commercially sold car. A military pressure suit, the equivalent to a tank or an f35 could be an entirely different ball game.

Also. Serious question. Why do people even presume they are fat or lack mobility given proper gear. What do these devices imply about human weight and mobility.

The fact is, every reason for the volus not to be able to do this is based on negative prejudice.

People saying there is no material that could self seal on a volus combat suit, remember there is no element that exists that can raise and lower mass. They got around that using ' the science fictions' . I think they can 'science fiction' a way to seal the suit, used by the small but elite volus squads used when dealing with situations that the volus would not inform even their closest allies of.

You guys freaking love lore. We can write more lore to cover it.

Come on, guys.
BW MIGHT have taken up some of the funny ideas here and used them for creating new classes. If they think they could pull off some good designs I suggest we rather look first and judge then.

If they really included Volus, I don't think they would publish them if those classes weren't fun. I think they probably laughed off their asses when they thought about it and made the stuff.

And for the lore people: I got nothing to say for you, lore is non-existent for my MP experience. I would play Space Vikings from the Horse-Head Nebula or run around with the Portal Gun and a Crowbar.
