Yes and N7s are the BESTs still we have Quarians and Vorcha. The Volus suit can be solved by tech. This game take place in the future with mass effect fields and mass relays and so on. Surely BioWare can come up a solution for the Volus suit problem. They even solved the Quarian suit rapture (not to kill by a single hit).

Ow, you're too that king of guy who don't know anything about Mass Effect lore. I will not explain anymore, it's boring.

What about special armor? Maybe they would have specialized armor that can either reduce their limitations or make up for them.

What about "shield gone !" problem ? What will volus do when their shield is depleted (something that happens often in mp if i remember well). Will they just explode ?

What about their size ?

Sure, that makes perfect sense.  We invented a type of armor that's so awesome it makes it so that a volus suit won't be punctured by a missile, but we only give it to volus and don't let other races have this invincibility so they could single-handedly win the war.

Hey, i guess they all know all of that in fact, but they really want their stupid biotic god, so they will never admit it.

They can't be so idiot. They KNOW.

I don't know. They could have armor that sacrafices some functions to give Volus extreme shield and barrier protection. If they are well trained and smart, then they would have to worry about their large pool of shields depleting.

So you say all but not any decent reason to add volus.

Multiplayer has a lore : elite operations.

Elite operation =/= add a weak snail to the commando because he want to protect his family. 'kay ?

The rest is nothing, saying "this and that are crap, so why not add crap again ?" is nothing. [1]

Then i will answer you with godwin : There already were a WW1 and a WW2, why not a third ? [2]

1. Actually, it's everything. The argument that something should not be because it breaks a code falls to pieces when there are already many things that already break that code. Everything that is in ME3 multiplayer so far clearly indicates that gameplay trumps lore. Playing as a Volus could be fun = gameplay.

2. Cannot stop laughing... must... respond. Okay here goes:

If there was a third world war that would cause harm to millions of people. If there was volus in ME3 multiplayer at best some nerds will be unhappy. Those situations are comparable to you? Becuase that's beyond laughable if so, it's just downright idiotic.

Yeah, I'm starting to think so too.  You can't not understand how "pops like a water balloon at any suit rupture" is a problem and not try to spell "the" with a q.

Well, I may be not as expert in ME Lore as you, but if BioWare actualy put Volus into the MP game that is mean to me IT'S LORE.
Of course if you are a BioWare developer and you see behind the things they do and plan I accept everything you say.

Until then I bet to BioWare.

I agree with that. And for now we don't know if they did. Sy maybe you're right, AND MAYBE I AM. Accept it.

But the lore that is ALREADY established by BIOWARE tends to prove that I AM right.

Sorry, but why do people think they are just running gags?
They look silly with their bumbly figure, OK, but that "Biotic God" overshadows quite some of the other aspects of Volusness.
I don't think they are all that silly and ridiculous (although the biotic God IS one of the best gags in the series.)
They are dealers, crimelords, business-people living quite well with their image as helpless pathetic people.

dealers, crimelords and business-people, yes. They are not supposed to be in front of the hardest battles of the universe. Thanks, you prove by yourself that volus are not a good stuff to add to the multiplayer. Thanks a lot ;)

Au contraire, all I said was that they live comfortable with that image of theirs.
If they really arrive (the Volus) I am going to take that glove, slap it in your face and demand that you play a match with me (as Volus). Choose your arms if you win, monsieur.

How can a gameplay match justify that kind of lore breaking ? If you win the match what happens ? And if i do ? Nothing.

We should at least allow Bioware to come up with some reason of bringing Volus into the MP. They are going to added regardless of anyone crying, so we should either get over it or find entertainment elsewhere. I'm not going to let the addition of a species destroy my enjoyment. I play games for fun, not to monitor if a company is keeping a fairy tale accurate.

Gameplay/fun > lore

Seriously. You people act as if real life history will get altered and change the world as we know it if Volus are added.

You honestly can't see the difference in a 'sad thing' that causes pain, death and suffering in the real world to a 'sad thing' that'll make some people a tad annoyed (or upset if you're a little weird)?

And I find it fun BECAUSE it isn't retarded.  The only match I'll ever play with a volus will be if they join while it's in progress and I never got a chance to kick them or leave.  And when that happens, I hope they have plenty of medi-gel because I won't spit on them if they're on fire.

Are you serious ? What interest to COMPARE if there isn't any difference ?

Suffering isn't the same, but suffering IS the key to compare ;)

So yes, again, those situations are, of course, comparable. Both create suffering.

First of all, the addition of characters isn't "retarded." You must find better adjectives that actually make sense to the context.

Second, what if the Volus characters are very effective at fighting? You will end up kicking characters that could mean the difference between passing and failing a gold/platinum match. If you are going to be a rude jackass simply because they pick a character that "breaks lore", then I hope we never meet, because I will be playing as Volus if they prove to be reliable. And if I see you in a lobby, then I will continuously cycle through all the Volus characters in the lobby just to annoy you.

ITT: We see who understands basic lore and the simplest parts of science, and who thinks a ball of whale lard under SIXTY GODDAMN TIMES THE ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE OF EARTH can be as worthy in battle as a krogan battlemaster and totally won't explode the second their suit even gets nicked, let alone hit by a ****ing missile.

What I believe is Volus would be a fun addition, and scientifically I believe in the power of space-magic (i.e. technology beyond our pitiful comprehension being present in a science fiction videogame). All it takes is a giant mechanized suit several inches thick at the thinnest point to protect a volus from any of these injuries you speak of.

As far as how they can be wounded enough to need medigel without having exploded, I daresay a similar suspension of belief is required as with Geth Characters being healed with Medigel, which even according to space magic is total BS but works anyway what with this being a video game and whatnot. People need to broaden their imaginations and stop being so uptight about science fiction and the possibilities therein; if everyone thought like you, none of the best Sci-Fi movies/TV-shows/games would have ever been made.

If you aren't willing to think outside the box (and suspend at least a little belief) then you're playing/watching the wrong genre, so stop trying to tell the rest of us what can and can't be done in a science fiction universe you had no part in creating and as such no basis for making such sweeping statements about what is and isn't possible. Not being happy about it is anyone's prerogative, but only people involved in making the universe in question are allowed to comment on what is possible therein, who are you (or any of us) to tell them what they can do? We're allowed to like it or not as we see fit, but it's their show, and we're just the ones along for the ride. If you want off, by all means, just stop putting down everyone else for liking where we're going and wanting to see more.

The thing I don't understand is: Why are many people so hellbend on having Volus in the multiplayer ? Don't get me wrong, I think they are a very interesting race and the "biotic god" scene in ME2 is one of my favorite scenes in all three games, it is absolutely hilarious. But what would they add to the multiplayer ? Why does it have to be Volus ? Is it just for the lulz ?

Obviously there are a lot of people who have big problems with the idea of them being added.  Last time I chekced the poll, 44% of the people that voted were against it. I am sure, the gameplay mechanics, that would make them fun to play (which I don't rule out at all) could be implementet without having to punch a big portion of the community in the face.

The people who don't like it, have given many reasons why they oppose that idea. But what would make the addition of them so special, aside from the fact, that it could lead to serious fits of laughing ? What would justify such a big stretch (I say complete disregard) of the lore ?
