In any event, there's heaps of other characters to play and you do not HAVE to play a volus. If you're really resentful of them being implemented, don't play with other players that choose volus. You'll be happy, the volus fans will be happy, we can all get on with our day.

Now that someone has found those biotic Volus pictures, I'm beginning to think this is a trick, like something I've seen other companies do. Valve and – I believe – Blizzard have done similar things to their curious fans.

However, I still think it's quite possible to make viable Engineer and Sentinel designs for the Volus. The Volus are a proud indignant race for one thing; there's no way they wouldn't have thought to make something for themselves even BEFORE the Reaper war began. Does a country in our world have to be at war to create its own special force? Certainly not.

If shields are depleted, there can be armor. Complaining that a missile would pop them like a balloon is silly, since a human whose shields have dropped shouldn't be able to stand up to Cerberus' top secret weaponry with breaking apart, either. Anything that happens after the shields are gone goes into the surreal gameplay territory that accompanies any combat segment of the game series. Unless you want to tell me that the enemy has never scored a single headshot against the numerous aliens that run around without a helmet. Don't forget how much damage Garrus took from an indirect rocket explosion in ME2 after presumable losing his shields.

I wouldn't be mind blown if they even gave Volus a yellow 'health' bar instead of the usual red.

Honestly, I don't see anybody actually really pushing hard to have volus in the game but I do see a lot of people pushing hard to not have them. It's optional content, you know?

And the argument about the selfishness comes right back at you ! It's not like there are three people who are against it. It is almost divided in the middle

The Volus have a battleship of some sort which you can gain as an asset in single player, you cant tell me it is full of bankers. I have a mental image of that Monty Python sketch at the start of "The meaning of life" I cannot find the proper clip on Youtube of "The Crimson Permanent Assurance" but its awesome.



Every society at some point has conflict, and every society needs peace keepers, wether that is of a military sort or a police force. We are talking about an entire race here, with a population of planetary proportions - I doubt they have always co-existed with each other peacefully. Even so, facing total annihilation I sure they would throw everything they could into defending themselves. Them helping out other races is perhaps the most unrealistic aspect.

Technically, my personal answer is "Why the hell not", which they answered numerous times, but now that the option for playing Volus will be there, I don't really care for such nonsensical responses.

But I didn't really feel like stating that because it doesn't help the cause.

Considering it is an add-on that's somewhat viable (unlike Protheans would be that would contradict ALL established lore), I think we should just accept it and play it. It's not like it's out yet, so I don't see what the fuss is all about.

I don't know if I'm being selfish, for I don't just want to play the Volus for myself and whatever. I just disapprove of how you're trying to restrict others from playing merely because of your prejudice against an in-game race.

I'm not against volus in MP even though it sure looks weird when you think about their lack of fighting prowess.. elcor would be fun simply cause of the back cannons, probably would be something like an even slower destroyer but not so squishy. But honestly I wanted more vorcha.. it would be pretty weird and I think it doesn't make sense but a vorcha vanguard would be cool.. at least I think so.. We found (at least the ones who played leviathan and searched the planets) an engineer-like vorcha team.. why not play with vorcha engineers too? I didn't want more turians(I hate that no dodging stance of his), but the jets look like it will be cool so fine.. I'll try that one when I have the dlc and the IV bonus let me get the character.

Volus could want to join the fight, well I don't think so.. all the ones I ever met since me1 were cowards(except for the biotic god of course) and they use turian military to defend themselves so it would be the same as adding hanar to a non aquatic cenario.. thinking about that.. we should have more drells too..

Honestly, I'm less concerned about the lore aspect and determining whether or not Volus COULD perform combat roles. I'm more concerned that the idea is just goofy and silly. Having a Volus waddling around the map would turn MP into a joke. You might as well have a clown juggling bowling pins and riding around on a unicycle.

I compartmentalize ME3 multiplayer and single player. The conceit about multiplayer really effecting the single player campaign was so artificial and tacked on to the singleplayer. With how little actual effect galactic readiness really had on the end game, I find it easy to just dismiss it as something seperate and a part.

That said I love ME3 multiplayer way more than I thought I would, and I feel they can do whatever the hell they want to the multiplayer lorewise as long as it is fun for us players. Volus are going to be ridiculous, but I'm sure have a ton of fun potential. The game is supposed to be fun, I'm not playing ME3 multiplayer to be immersed in a roleplaying experience like in singleplayer. The way the game is setup with waves and tacked on objectives really isn't conducive to that.

I love how you call people who want Volus childish when you're argument is "Since I don't like Volus in MP, then no one should have them." I think it's childish to let something as non-problematic as Volus ruin your enjoyment of the game. Not everyone is a pet to lore like you may be.

Also, I love Mass Effect, it's lore, and any fun feature that is added. What does that make me? A child-adult hybrid made so by a Starchild and his Space Magic machine?

So, varren are an in-game race. Is it legit if i want them standing into a super battlesuit and fighting in mp operation with some guns ? It is NOT. And people who will say "no we don't want Varrens" are not selfish. They just are logical.
