You're right, sometimes things need to be changed or reworked to fit, I didn't say it was always wrong. Sometimes an unexpected and unforseen event or story can create something new and interesting, sometimes it needs to be done for gameplay. Sometimes though it is done just because and actually spoils a story or set of established parameters, this is why some stories work and others don't. Even a fantasy world like ME needs rules and boundaries, otherwise you could have pink flying blurdeblurs and nobody would have a clue what's going on. The story of ME is important, it's what enthralls us all to the game and stories have boundaries. Sometimes it;s good to push these boundaries, sometimes caution should be applied.

It's pretty much a classic Deus ex machina, we want them in so we can create a whole new set of rules and story to make them fit.

Which is fine, I'm not sure it's needed, but it is just a game, so it's fine, but you are kind of throwing the established ME universe story out the window and saying that anything can be done because this is mp. Then if you're doing that, well the skies the limit, anything goes. We can have Hanar soldiers, we can have Elcor Vanguards, we can have Vanguards with tech powers, we can have Adepts with Tactical Cloak, because we can explain anything we want.

I'm not sure I like that, I like the games I play to have at least some boundaries based on a coherant and logical story.

Javik is NOT a change in lore.  He was probably planned from the start since you get that flag on Eletania that has no purpose except a remark from him 2 games later.  The only difference between the reveal that the Reapers build the mass relays and the Citadel rather than the Protheans and the reveal that there was a living Prothean in stasis is that one reveal took a lot longer.  Nothing else.

still lore had to be added in order to compesate for his bein poofed into the game at the last minute

Which is why we should wait and see what the Volus offer. Either they work and its cool or they are a joke, and blight on the MP. In which case there will be a backlash.

just love how people are saying no it breaks lore. it doesn't, give it rest.... it doesn't break lore you are trying to get them removed because you dont want to see them in the game.

It breaks lore, you're lying because you just want the comic relief.

How does lore explain the magical reincarnation of dead players at the end of every wave?

Anyone playing the lore card in a computer game really needs to assess their priorities in life.  In your case it's fairly evident you just get off on complaining in every thread you post, which is crystal clear to anyone who frequents these forums.

The vorcha is weak and drops enemies like a mother ****er on crack cocaine. Please, Mr "Intelligent" person, keep your cries to yourself. You know nothing. Leave us mass effect veterens to be the judge of these so called volus we speak of.

Two volus is fine for teh lulz. Four is overkill. I'd rather they added more drell, geth, or even salarians (which are lacking in number).

I hope the leak is right! Who cares? It'll be a fresh, new, character...and could be utterly hilarious! I for one, hope the leak is 100% true :)

Drell is confirmed; there is a Drell using homing grenades in the trailer.

Volus power loadout:

Taunt: The ability to biotically shout threats at your foes.
Bargain: The ability to strike a deal with your foes.
Pilfer: A biotic attack similar to Lash, but pickpockets your foes instead.
Red Sand: 3 ranks of drug-induced stages similar to Vorcha's Bloodlust. Biotic bonus to Taunt and Pilfer, or the unique Attack Waddle evolutions.
Rolypoly: Instead of durability, the ability to huddle into a fetal position. Can be taken for defense or Bowling Ball Attack evolutions.

I may be wrong, but wouldn't the volus be too short? Too short for primes to aim at them, if you stand at their feet? too short for banshees to grab and too short for phantoms to stab? Not fast enough to sprint?
