I could see a Volus adept, engineer or sentinel...
Basically anything that doesn't involve direct physical combat or relies or BFGs, and focuses on support roles...

The Volclan do provide auxiliary troops to the Turian Hierarchy...
It's in the lore...

Auxiliary troops =/= elite ground troops

This is dumb.

Engineers are also not elite ground troops. I do believe he did point out that they'd focus on support roles. <_<

After (or if) we get these fantastically viable Volus warriors, I want Elcor Infiltrators and Hanar Soliders next. Then I'd like to see some Rachni troops to fight alongside and perhaps most of all I'd like to play as Keepers, think how awesome a Sentinel Keeper would be. We've also just found a group of sentient Pyjaks and now we could have a Pyjak Adept.

Sadly I think this is probably the last dlc, but now we've unshackled all restrictions by convincing ourselves how sane it would be to place explosive slow little Volus on planetry battles outside of their homeworld, we can have anything our tiny minds can think of. I could even have Ewok & Jawa type aliens introduced so we can fight alongside them.

As variety is the single most important thing being listed for the mp, we can throw everything in.

Volus don't fight alongside N7 Operatives in the most dangerous missions in the Galaxy. The best of the best, Commander Shepard, never had a Volus on his squad, and never encountered Volus fighting on the ground, even with the mech suits all of you have been dreaming about. The only form of warfare the Volus wage is space and air-based, not ground-based. If they ever did fight on the ground, small or large-scale, those battles would have been on their home worlds and colonies where a suit puncture would have resulted in a 'simple' leak of their air supply or injury, and not, as we've said countless times, explosive decompression that would lead to instant death.

Read a little bit of this if you wanna know, essentially, what happens when a Volus suit is damaged by a firearm, shrapnel, or blade. I warn you, it is very graphic, and thank God there are no images of what happened. Feel free to skip to where it says "The normal procedure would have been" if you wanna go right to the section that details on the accident.

http://en.wikipedia....g_bell_accident

The Volus would need EXTREME protection to keep that from happening, something that'd make Krogan Vanguards look like the glass cannons, and that is certainly not going to happen in Multiplayer, mech suit or not.

Thinking about Volus reminds me of a Korean MMO or the Ewoks. The same goes for the Elcor and Hanar, they're awesome by how interesting they are, but it's not a direction I'd like to see us going. I think there's a good reason they aren't seen in combat roles in SP.

But Volus in combat? How would they run? Would they roll...? Okay this I've got to see. Keeping an open mind.

I really don't want to explain this again, but I'll just quote myself from earlier..

There you have it. A suit that would not make them a tank but would keep them from exploding. Have fun. B)

The whole Volus thing started out as a joke. Thanks to the BSNidiots parading it around, we're now getting four (FOUR! Realize, they'll instantly outnumber more relevant, believable races) of the little mouthbreathers instead of more Salarians and new Models for the upcoming characters. Really? An asari infiltrator rocking the old pseudo-commando threads the OG asari wear? A krogan shaman with Battlemaster plate armor (wtf)? What about the other armors in the series? There's even actual Commando leathers in the ME3 single player campaign that look better.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that BW listens so intently to their fans. I just hate that you idiots parading that stupid ****ing joke around was the loudest thing they heard.

Only two are even semi-confirmed. The other two names sound more like their passive ability, sorta like Drell Assassin or Batarian Enforcer. We don't have characters by those names, but we do have characters with passive abilities with those names.

2 out of 16 FREE charactrs is not that bad. Personally, I think 2 characters that some people don't like out of 16 is better than just gettin 14 characters. Even if some don't like it, others will. There is no reason to take away what is already planned to be added as they WILL NOT be replaced by something different/better at this point.

So they can get shot by a Nemesis Assassination, stabbed by a Phantom, burned severely by a Geth Pryo, or impaled by a Banshee without popping like a balloon filled with Strawberry jam after their shields go down? Solid objects and Biotic powers can pass through and hurt them, but pressure can't leak out?? You're all arguing in favor of total nonsense with a load of bull**** and "lol it'll be fun! Stop trying to ruin our fun!"

I'm wondering why I'm even ****ing trying to knock sense into you people.

I'm pretty sure that any race shouldn't be able to survive being headshot by a Nemesis, stabbed by a Phantom, burned severely by a Geth Pryo (Pyro?) or impaled by a Banshee. It's not exactly something you should be able to walk away from.

I'm sorry, but that's the lore of how shields work in mass effect. That is how a space ninja can stab a sword through a shield that bullets bounce off of. Sword passes through because the shield was designed for things hitting it at higher velocity. You're now arguing that Volus break fiction because fiction doesn't make sence to you... Not the best arguement I must say.

Also, going down that road, how does ANYONE get stabbed by a phantom, shot by a nemesis, burned severely by a geth pyro or impaled by a Banshee and still get back up? That makes perfect sence! ...Right?

This point is so ****ing stupid because all characters get instant killed this way and are revived in the next wave.  So if a Volus explodes it can still get revived in the next wave.  I don't get why you people think it makes anymore sense for someone getting up after a Banshee's arm went through them, but not for a Volus.

1.) Volus have Reaper forces bogged down in some nasty groundfighting on Irune with the assistance of a Turian relief/expeditionary force (which is saying alot on the Volus' part, because bogging down the Reapers in anything is pretty difficult).

2.) The Volus only own half the galactic market share. So yeah, there's that. Irune-First company (don't exactly recall the name) is a galactic-scale marketing firm that regulates the galactic macro-economy and collects/modifies prospecting data for the Citadel Central Bank. Then there's the Elkoss-Combine which only makes... you know, everything.

3.) So with excellent financial resources, and advanced technology on their side kind of implies a strong standing military on Irune. How would Volus fight in said ground engagements? Powered-Armor obviously, and if the Systems Alliance has this tech, you can be damn sure the Volus already have their own variants.

4.) The Collectors are also explicitly mentioned in the Battle for Palaven lore in the Reaper War section of your codex. Contrary to popular belief, BioWare isn't just pulling this out of their posterior.

As far as I know you do go down when shot by a Nemesis after Shields drop. I've only been shot by them when I have shields. Everyone dies when stabbed by a Phantom, same for the Banshee impale. Pyro might not be as immediately damaging as those others, but I imagine fire on a Volus suit would really **** it up. FACT IS, a Volus taking that kind of damage would die in an instant, and wouldn't even be a solid object anymore.

And shut the **** up about my typo. I'm typing as fast as I can so my post doesn't get burried by more ****brained posts from you jackasses. I also have to watch multiple threads thanks to this bull****.

You're a ****ing moron, you know that? I am not saying the Volus themselves don't make sense, I'm saying that the Volus fighting alongside the N7 Operatives is nonsense because of their obvious frailties, small stature, and lack of their own ground force! And if you're gonna say "Well maybe we just never heard of the Volus Army, and it got excluded from the Codex and War Assets for some reason," then I'd say "You know why that is? Because any Volus Army isn't worth mention, especially next to the other races that can actually wage war on a vast majority of the habitable worlds! Turians, Humans, Krogan, Salarian, and even Quarians don't ****ing blow up when they become exposed to pressure that isn't sixty times Earth's, and aren't dependent on giant-ass mechs to fight!"

And using Medi-Gel or getting revived and getting up after the end of a Wave if you died is a game mechanic, you dumb ****ing ****. But even with game mechanics, how in the Hell do you expect to revive a Volus that's been turned to red paste on every surface of the room? Permanent death is a possible addition, but it wouldn't be welcomed except by a very masochistic few, considering how easy it is to go down in this game. Imagine playing if it went "CRITICAL MISSION FAILURE" on your screen the moment you go down like in Campaign, and you had to spectate for the rest of the match. If that were so, everyone, possibly including me, would farm with optimum-only characters builds and weapons, or just quit playing completely because of how ****ing unforgivable it is. Campaign has many 'corridor' maps and enemies usually coming from only one direction, so Insanity is playable if you're careful and smart with your advance, but in Multiplayer enemies can come from anywhere and swarm you. Every tiny little mistake with the placement of your team would mean enemies could come in from places you weren't at all expecting and ****ing perma-kill you.

Ok, so since it has already been stated several times, often more than once on each page of this thread that Volus do in fact have forces, perhaps not N7 forces, but indeed forces that have faught the reapers, the point that they don't have a military goes out the window. I have already pointd out how a Volus could easily survive suit punctures in a similar fassion to humans, turians, and especially quarians with a simple shield membrane. This in consideration, they would not explode.. They would take the hit as any other species would and I can only imagine how resiliant a creature is that can withstand 60 atmospheres is to a projectile that doesn't even output that much pressure.

But seriously, calm down with the personal attacks.. they are not wanted and we are only having a discussion here about the lore of a game universe. No need to call me a moron or anyone else for bringing up comlex future physics. ^_^
