People, people. This is obviously a very heated topic, but we should all just take a deep breath and-
Poor choice of words?

Imagine a volus' in game dialogue.. "CHCHCHH im CHHCHCH down." If the volus actually got sent to the front lines, theyd get swarmed before they could even call out where the enemies are. I dont think theyd fit in with trained biotic, weapon and tech specialists. Although if they do get put in, it wont really bother me, Ill just find it really weird. They arent cut out for this type of combat. The most use a squad would get out of one would be to distract the enemies for a bit.

I suspect that this is the case as a biotic volus is right up there with an elcor infiltrator in terms of persistent joke classes mentioned..  I personally doubt that bioware would spend that many precious character slots in a DLC on a race like the volus (due to their backstory) when other more warlike frontline races like the krogans get 1 in this DLC and the salarians get none in all the DLCs.  It's no problem for them to name the files after the volus but have them simply used for other yet to be annouced racial classes.

Anyways, Bioware created the lore where Volus can't fight anything, where volus pay other races to protect them, where volus can't even WALK and TALK correctly.

If the same Bioware implement Volus in MP, the world has become really strange. And i hope a lot of people WILL leave the game, and Bioware will just say "what, we lost 50% players ? Hm, i know : volus."

I will leave the game if they do. I don't care if i am the only one, if you lol, i really don't care, i will know that i left a bad dev and they will know that they lost 40€ of their future game because of volus. 

If you seriously leave a game due to Volus or never buy a game due to it. Than I don't know what to say to that.

I understand your concern. If BioWare really does roll out a Volus, they will have some way to make it something other than a joke, I think we need to trust them on this. You have decent ideas and I laud your concerns about lore, but please, don't get into a twist because someone acts like a jerk. Part of the problem with web posts is that no one can hear the poster's tone of voice, so things can escalate unnecessarily.

Yeah, who cares about lore? It's not like the lore-breaking ending enraged so many fans that the backlash made it onto national news or anything. Who cares about lore indeed.

I have only 1 thing to say to people who want to not include possibly fun things that barely break lore: get a life. It's a video game - not real life. Who cares if it breaks a false reality - especially for a non-campaign, horde-mode multi-player?

Playing as a volus would be pretty fun.

I don't pay too much attention to things that make no sense, although this thread is quite amusing.
Considering, it would be so much simpler for the Anti-Volus people to just accept that there will be volus, and stop judging before it even comes out. But as you can see, even that is hard for them, because they just need to feel superior and self-righteous about such unimportant things, as they have nothing better to do.

People seem to fall into 3 camps over the Volus; The smallest seem to be the definitely want, for fun, affection for the odd & increased variety reasons. The next smallest seem to be the 100% no way, it's madness, breaks law, looks stupid and may ruin the game. The final group, which is probably most people, seem to be at best indifferent and at worst slightly confused about how the Volus can fit with all that we know about them.

No groups view is incorrect, this is all fictional and nothing is set in stone, but I'm not convinced pleasing the smallest group is the best move.

Thank you for summing up my thoughts on this more succintly then I could have.  

That they would develop these characters when races like the Krogan and Salarian are so under-represented is... sad to me.  

The whole lore/realism thing is just an issue I have with the "mechanics" in-universe or in-character/game I guess you could say.  In the "real world" I'm just upset that they're adding these gimmick classes instead of expanding the existing races.

Haha yeah.  This is free content after all so it doesn't even matter if a few butthurt nerds leave the game.  Maybe they'll also protest the single player DLC because volus were added in multi-player lol
