I'm looking for an ranger build and some advice as to the tacics .
She will fight with a bow and I'm not sure if cunning adds to the damage (with Lethality) or strenght.
Does the bug persist where you had to set tacics anew each time you summoned a pet?

Must-have talents:
- Scattershot
- Arrow of Slaying
- Critical Shot
- Master Archer
- Rapid Shot
25-30 Willpower and 30 Cunning should be enough. You don't need any points in Magic or Constitution. Every other point goes into Dexterity (which should be 50+).
Now I believe the damage done by your Ranger pets is determined by your Strength stat so you might want to raise it to 20-25 (20 Strength is required to wear Tier 7 Light Armor).

You'll be able to open every lock with 30 cunning, and all of the lockpicking talents. Lethality would be a nice addition, but that depends if you can fit all the other talents you want. You'll get about 28 talents throughout the course of the game. Plan ahead.

Either get enough Dex for the archery talents, and rest into cunning with lethality, or 30 cun, rest dex.
You never need strength. Unless you're an elf, only if you can't wait to buy Andruils Blessing/Shadow of the Empire

Dex is more important for archers so I don't recommend Lethality.
Well you need 20 Strength for the Tier 7 Light Armor but this can also be achieved by completing the Fade section and wearing items that boost your Strength.
And if you enjoy summoning a Wolf or other pet you need a bit of strength (increases their damage).

I'm currently playing a ranger and did it sort of like this:
1. Used the 'no starting abilities' mod, and started with dual wield instead of dirty fighting, survival, and weapons spec. I keep DEX high, but I've traded some of the Rogue's normal cunning into STR instead as the game goes on. Basically a good balance between the three. I'm always mindful of old AD&D (centuries ago!!) when Ranger was a subclass of fighter rather than rogue, and I still like to build my rangers that way.
2. I've eschewed almost all of the rogue talents in favor of dual wield/archery stuff. My character isn't a strict archer- he splits his time between the bow and mixing it up with sword and dagger, and now two swords now that he has maxed out dual wield.
3. I role play him like a ranger- given him lots of slots in survival and herbalism, and he often travels with Dog as a companion, and often summons his friends wolf or bear (but never spider! Ugh!). He's a Dalish elf, wears Dalish armor (except for big battles when the ancient elven armor gets broken out of the chest) and likes to poke around the wilderness areas for elfroot and deathroot. His constant companion is Elven Leliana, who specializes in archery, poisons/grenades, and herbs (despite her odd Orlesian upbringing). The two have a sizzling romance going on.
The other party members get to play along, but this playthrough is really the Ranger / Dog (Athelos)/ Elven Leliana show...
* Oh, and it's a cheat but since I loaded the 'lockbashing' mod I
haven't bothered to slot a single character with lockpicking. My
personal 'role-playing' rule is that I can't lock bash a chest (in lieu
of stealthily picking it) in plain line of sight of the owner.

Actually, longbows use both strength & dexterity for their damage, or dexterity and cunning if you take lethality. Or that's my understanding of the current state of affairs on the pc, with the latest patch.
