Does anyone else find the fade a boring chore that is quite unnecessary and that really mucks up the mage part of the main quest? Its my second time though and i hate it as much as i did the first time, having only one character makes it a whole lot less tactical (especialy if your PC isn't a mage) the weird blur effect strains my eyes  and overall the level design is just lazy drawn out and boring! i really do dispise it and hope to never return there in my dreams...

(Oh also the desire demon and the charmed templar bit was ok, but annoying you can't kill the demon and have the templar wake up D:)

I make it through the Fade section by playing about 5-10 minutes, pause, look away to rub the eyes for a bit and then back to playing. Its the background exploration music in the Fade that grates me though. After awhile it feels like fingernails on chalkboard noise. If you skip the stat +'s and just charge for the forms/demons its relatively quick. Also... you can just throw it on easy and mad charge everything regardless of your character build. The only tactic required is clicking on badguys at that point.

Considering how easy the rest of the Tower is, I consider the Fade the true battle for the Mage's Circle.

On the PC you can disable the blur by disabling frame buffer effects in options. I don't know if that's an option on consoles. It has the side effect of disabling bloom as well, but at least there're no blurry edges in your view.

Nonsense. You can do it by visiting every area at least one time, just keep going clockwise. There is one instance where you have to revisit to beat a boss, but that's about it. I can do it in under an hour.

You could skip getting the attribute bonuses, to save time. Since you're an experienced player you can survive without them.

This is the one lowpoint in the game for me. I know the Fade is suppose to look like a dream, but for people with compromised eyesight it is a pain. Luckily I play on a computer and can disable it. Unfortunately I did not know this fact on my first playthrough. After disabling the blur the Fade is not that bad on subsequent playthroughs

It would've been better if your companions could join you. Now it all feels so lonely. I'm not used to Leliana and Morrigan not following me.

I love the fade part it's one of the reason why I tend to do mage tower early on in the game

I thought the shapeshifting forms were pretty neat, except it got a little annoying when you constantly had to switch between them every couple minutes it felt like. Also, I agree the blur is annoying and gave me a headache when I was playing through it. Not to mention that I felt like it was sort of just thrown in to make the Tower chain longer. Definitely my least favorite part of the game.

The Fade sequence is the biggest reason I can't even play through this game twice. I really hated it.

It wasn't my favorite part of the game, and the blur does throw me off a bit, but I enjoyed it well enough. I rush through it on later playthroughs usually, but I don't hate it. I can see why so many people do, though.

I do it first because I don't love it. Can't really say I hate it, but it's definitely not my favorite part of the game. I go there early and get it out of the way.

I shudder when its times to go into the fade. this current play through I actually decided to just " stop for the night" the moment the fade portion started.and it may be a day or two before I have any urge to deal with it...Basically it's tedious in a way that makes it...not a enjoyable game...but a chore.

I can't fault developers on it, as I'm not " the market" overall a demographic may have enjoyed it...I just happen to be one that does not, and wish there was a way to avoid doing the fade portion, even if it is another " great dragon" level fight...If I can avoid the endless back, and forth I would in a heart beat.

I do the Fade first to get the attribute enhancements but having to wander through the same levels as you get each new form over and over gets old. I also dislike how s....l....o....w the forms, other than burning man, are. It makes you swap forms a lot and that slows things down.

The Fade also works well early on since the forms basically get the powers you need to survive and so if you are weak the game gives you a built in boost.

I kept getting my butt handed to me, so I stopped it and started over cuz I figured I did something deathly wrong when creating my character.

Once I realized to play as the forms and not my character I got a LOT better at this. To me the "tactical" element here is properly managing and swapping forms to get the most bang for your buck.

The only problem I had with the Fade came with repetition. It lost its appeal faster than any other area for me... but I rather enjoyed it the first time through. I used all the forms to defeat my enemies and it was fun to have my arsenal expanded, even if only temporarily.
