Looks like I need to venture in here after all...
Playing BG2 for the first time and just got out of that starting dungeon. But on the lowest level we found a djinni that wanted a flask. It doesn't look like it's possible to get back into that dungeon now, so were we supposed to find that flask somewhere in the dungeon itself? I couldn't see it anywhere, and think we did everything on both levels.
Djinni flask?

Yes the Flask he wanted was inside the dungeon like he said it was... it's not a major quest.

I went back and talked to them and got the item. Looks decent
Strange how much more XP there is in this game though. 15000 for that quest, while in BG1 I only got that for.. well, a couple of rather tough foes.

You will probably need that experience!
It means that whether you got all the experience, or minimal experience in BG1, your character in BG2 will be much the same after a few battles.

Wait until you finish a major quest area!
When you finish a minor quest, or kill a monster you'll get some amount of XP. That amount is divided among all party members.
When you finish a major quest or event, you get "Quest Experience", and that amount is given to each party member. You'll see "Charname gets 44,000 quest experience, Minsc gets 44,000 quest experience, Jaheira gets 44,000 quest experience"...and on.
