Challenge is bad now? Damn I've been out of the loop for too long.

Challenge? They're the easiest class to beat, if you take the easiest approach to the game (camping). They're the most predictable, and they move comparatively slow.

Very few people that complain about the Geth have trouble beating them, and it would be trivially easy to do so if we stayed in cover and held one area (hence White/Geth/Gold farming). The thing is, because of stunlocking and their reaction time, the game punishes you for taking a more aggressive playstyle, which isn't generally as easy. It's like some weird backwards deal where the specific way in which they're challenging is part of what makes them the easiest to beat if you're a lazy player.

The problem isn't that they're hard. It's that they're broken, cheap and frustrating. Playing against them is a waste of time since you're getting no fun at all.

Well players can stack the deck and get OHK on many opponents while always having three strikes with shield and healthgate on players. (excepting grenades of course) I don't find them very difficult, and with each faction you have to prioritize extinction order. Cheap is debatable as I have high success against them. If it was cheap I'd have to have less than 50% win rate and I am well over 95%. (Boy I hope tracking stats pick up some things)

How could they be not hard but frustrating at the same time? That doesn't make sense to me. Frustration=lack of success. It means you struggle to get whatever done and usually fail.

Ok maybe you don't have fun, but I do.

Don't forget that Tuesday brings new balance changes, possibly to the Geth (LESS STUNLOCK HOPEFULLY).

I may be an optimist.

But I can hope, can't I?

I think they are easier to beat roaming. They tend to bunch up and are slower than the average player so getting range and soft cover can thin the ranks easily. When you camp the hunters and pyros can overwhelm you. Yeah I know the FBW but not all maps are exploitable like that. Aggressive play gets the job done. People that sit in cover and plink hardly contribute.

I never camp or farm except a couple plats I was pulled into on glacier. If they are all in the room I am there too because to do otherwise is losing.

Stop complaining......

Just change your play style, It is obvious you rush them, I played them on gold today and had no issues. The Primes seem to be more aggressive and I keep my distance from Pyros and Hunters AND I stick with my team.

I wouldn't be surprised if they buffed them once again. They have no idea what they're doing.

Geth were a stunlock nightmare before. Now that primes can summon two turrets, stagger more reliably, and their drone staggers, they've become simply stupid. Geth Prime is a worse enemy to fight than a freaking Banshee.

I've been saying that for months.

1) Constant cannon volleys (even when out-of-sight and behind cover) that curve
2) Insta-summon turrets that hide behind you/walls and drain you instantly for the other enemies finish
3) Ignore cloak entirely
4) Appear in much higher numbers
5) Cannot be lead around as easily
6) Now the drone, making mid- to not-quite-close-combat very high-risk

Primes (Geth as a whole really) put out a far more substational amount of damage compared to the other factions.  Headshots will help take them down faster but the annoyance factor is still there.

The Atlas has a longer pause I believe between volleys and it doesn't have as many ways to constantly inflict damage.  Banshees can easily be lead around in circles and only have a single way to attack you at distance (though it can be hard to avoid even in cover).  Even then though they have a period where they won't do their ranged attack.

I see no other way to play against Geth, but choosing a Vanguard... or a Geth Infiltrator.

I did play a match trying out the new stun resistance against geth with my KroSol last night.
It was on gold and it's definitely more challenging. It was a game with 2 randoms however

I can see it fine with regulars but completely NO with randoms. I didnt make it out of wave 11 though, because the stupid POS origin trolled me. Booted me out of game, made me jump through hoops to validate my account. Pretty disappointing as it was my first game after the "Big patch thats suppose to have fixed everything"

Played a game with one friend yesterday using the N7 Destroyer with a Saber and Raider. Not too bad, but everyone was going down a lot. Of course, it was also using the N7 Destroyer...

Frustration does not require lack of success. And the two are certainly not the same. Geth are cheap because of their reliance on cheap tactics, simple as that. They ignore cover/LoS rules that other factions follow (at least to some extent) and rely ENTIRELY on stunlocking players (that is, taking control from the players' hands).

This is artificial difficulty. When a hunter stunlocks you to death (because their shots stop you from doing EVERYTHING and they refire before the previous stunlock wears off) that is artificial difficulty. It has nothing to do with presenting a challenge to the player, it is simply taking control from them and saying "ok, you can spend some time on the floor until an ally rescues you". Same deal when a Geth Rocket Trooper triple-rockets you to death from full health and shields.

Stun locking is artificial difficulty. Artificial difficulty is bad game design. No one likes bad game design. The Geth are built around simply stunning the player repeatedly and using cheap tactics that can only really be overcome by camping.

Thus why, after a few UUG rounds as my Shadow where the team wiped on wave 10, I switched to my Demolisher (I named her Free Credits) and did WGG. Absolutely nothing has changed there, it's still totally easy. In fact, the patch only made WGG more valuable now that you get +10% experience for the easy extraction.

I wouldn't even call it artificial difficulty, it's just annoying. Taking control out of the player's hands is never fun.

At least they fixed the magnet hands on the Banshee.  Actually find Reapers are now FUN to play with and I used to hate Banshees way more than Geth stunlocking.  Always enjoyed fighting Phantoms myself, and yes those crazy engineers and their turrets are pretty annoying, but on a whole, both Cerberus/Reapers are now fun challenges.

This even more buffed Geth?  They're just ridiculously not rewarding to play against.  And the counters to them are camping and playing a few select classes to avoid stunlocking.  And only 1 person can enjoy the Kroguard at max since Vanguards will always suck off host.

Fixed with patch.  Ran a Vanguard death squad twice tonight, worked swimmingly.

I'll give it a try then - but I'll hunt you down and make you hurt with my rage if my Biotic charge doesn't trigger like it does on host.

I wonder what Bioware think about geth. 99% of community hates geth and constantly points out their cheapness, taking away control from the player but they just happily buff geth again and again.

I actually didn't have any problems with them. I was using a human adept, all pugs glacier. 17 minute extract gold. The other players were vanguards one Cerberus, the other normal human. Followed by a paladin.

I then played with a Kroguard , and he dominates them as usual. With the added bonus of blowing the primes head clean off with the wraith at times. I was surpirised the first time I did and had a big smile the next couple times I blew it clean off.

I sent a PM to Eric Fagnan and he said "We are keeping an eye on Geth balance now that the patch and new content is coming out."

I doubt they're gonna fix anything though. They might give them fewer shields or something irrelevant like that.

Okay, is it just me or did they remove the revive invulnerability window specifically against the Geth?

I played against both Cerb and Reapers today and didn't notice anything too out of the ordinary, but the single Geth match I played had an entire round that consisted of me dying, getting revived, and then instantly dying before I could even assume control of my character.

...My team started camping my body for revive medals after the third time. I. LITERALLY. Could. Not. Control. Anything. Downed revived downed revived downed revived. From the first time I went down I lost all character control until the damn wave was over.
