I don't agree with your opinion, but I respect it.

As for the future of the series I'd like to see a sequel set in the distant future, but it'll probably be a prequel or a spin off.

I don't agree with you, but I respect your opinion that you really like the game. I'm replaying Mass Effect 2 and I personally consider that the best, I literally can't wait to recruit everyone for the suicide mission, play through their loyalty missions, and go through the dlc as well.

Mass Effect could go the prequel route sadly or go into Mass Effect 4 with the main story being about the aftermath of the Reapers and maybe some inclusion of dark energy or something. I don't know. To me, the Third game in the trilogy doesn't leave much to explore in a sequel and a prequel is just...meh. I already know what happens, why would I want to play the Prequel?

Its kinda the same dilemma with Gears of War Judgement, its a prequel involving Cole and Baird, but as someone who's invested into the franchise, having read the books and played all the games, it doesn't really appeal to me, (or at the very least not a day 1 buy, a title to pickup when its on sale for like 20 bucks). Besides telling alittle backstory, and adding gameplay elements, I'd consider it a more badass expansion then a standalone game, considering I own and play the 3rd game which in my opinion released alot of dlc too soon for its own good.

I don't want to see Mass Effect go the prequel route because its been done to death in this industry. I'm betting on a sequel even though the events of Mass Effect 3 leaves alot of things in question and even if DLC comes out thats a supposive prequel towards ME4, would it rarely make a difference. Case in point, Arrival for instance and how that turned out.

I concur. Although I don't like the endings(even with the extension cut), overall it is still an incredible game: phenomenal graphic, awesome battle system, good build-up and nice plot, though the endings could have been better, and the frame rates should have been fixed(PS3).

In the future I'd like to see a spin off where you play as a spectre and deal with political affairs for the council or some such. No Reapers involved.

Sort of like DA2 but with more environments and exploration.

ME3 is decent but there are better games...Panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei, Star Control 2, Freespace 2, Chrono Trigger...

Lol, I'm old...

Still the best game ever I have ever played. I'm really intrested to see what Halo 4 will bring, but ME3 is still by far the best game I have ever played.

I hope I don't sound rude but would you mind explaining why?

The people who don't like the game tend to give a lot of reasons.

So I would be very interested to hear the reasons why from those who do like the game.

Hi OP here, Because for me it was the emotional pull, graphics, gameplay, multiplayer, and the ending. I loved the ending. There I said it lol... who knows whats about to happen now...

* I also posted what games I play/currently own so that might also give relevant context as to the types of games I will play to bring it into perspective. I work full-time and go to school so when I do get to play games on the weekends I ususally play my xbox games. Batman, Halo, Borderlands, Mass Effect, sometimes WoW.
SO having said that, I feel it is always harder to explain why you like something than it is to explain why you don't like something. Why do I like Batman? well I grew up watching him, his morals were my morals, he was like a father to me so that's why he's my hero. Mass Effect 3? I just conencted to the story elements and the characters like I never have before and when it came time for it to come to end, it just brought it home, does that make sense? I have no real idea why it's the best for me, it just is.

Considering that Bioware has some of the best characters ever made for videogames with an actual plot I can easily say that ME is one of the best series out their in terms for videogames with a plot. I would say that I like ME3 just as much as ME2. Hell ME3 was one of the few games to get me attach to their characters. You should have seen me in my first playthrough with Grunt's epic scene. I personally thought I screwed up and picked the wrong choice there. I was literally saying "OH NO!" at the screen among other things. That and I thought Mordin was very well handled as well. Not to mention how Liara was handled romance wise. (I do feel like some romances were handled badly though and that some people who went for say Jacob got the short end of the stick)

While it may be hard to describe why you like Batman, it would surely be easier to describe why you like a single Batman story (say Long Halloween).

Thanks for taking the time to try and describe why you liked the game, it is much appreciated.

I liked it far better than 2, but not as much as 1.

The auto dialogue, certain things happened no matter what decisions I made, the lame opening and Priority: Earth all kept it from being #1 to me.

The other thing that bugs me about 3 is that I never know what bonus power to take. It was a no brainer for 1 & 2 but I just have no idea for 3.

I disagree with OP because ME3 as an RPG is one of the worst games. As an FPS? It's good, and single player campaign does have some nice scenes. The game is not total s*** but Bioware really could do better. (for comparision look at my signature). Compared to planescape torment the game is abomination of an RPG.

In terms of gameplay it stumbles over the footprints of the games it tries to copy.

In terms of story it shames the image of the game it tries to copy.

...How long have you been gaming?

28 years, and I also find ME3 very good/one of the best. I actually fired up Skyrim last week, played for 4 hours and haven't played it since because I find it boring.

I also like CoD, used to play it a lot, never played Halo, did enjoy Wing Commander, Privateer, Freelancer and Starlancer.

What's up with people who play CoD don't play RPG's or even Battlefield player who don't play CoD and visa versa.

I'm a gamer, i play them all.

I agree, personally it's definitely one of the best, if not the best game I've ever played even if it has a lot of disappointing aspects.

@Neizd: it's a terrible fps, it's a good tps however. >_>

How in the world can ME3 be a good first-person shooter if there isn't any first-person shooting in it?

I too find myself continually astounded by how many people don't know what FPS stands for.

I've been an avid gamer since I owned a 386, longer than some here have been alive or able to hold a controller. Even with a divisive ending, it still ranks among one of the best games ever made.

On what basis? A broken Journal? Brainless 'fetch' quests? Linear levels? Small underdeveloped hub world? Import flag bugs? Dumbing down of the dialogue system? Undeveloped "War Assets" system? The KNOWN rushed final act?

Plot, character and story are more subjective and they either add or detract to one's opinion, but there are too many 'core game' issues to say the game was one of the best ever MADE. Ever PLAYED? Well, you're certainly entitled to your opinion.

The graphics were nice and the combat was well developed. Other than that, it was actually one of the poorest quality AAA title games I've ever seen.
