Every time I try to launch ME3 I get the error "Failed to Initialize PhysX Hardware Acceleration", the message tells me that hardware accelerated PhysX has been requested but my drivers are out of date. This confuses me, since I'm using an AMD card, and even if I did have the PhysX drivers they still wouldn't do anything.

PhysX is needed to play ME3. You're game has the installation file for PhysX. To find it, got to the following file location: C\\Program_Files(x86)\\Origin_Games\\Mass_Effect_3\\_installer\\physx\\redist

Install PhysX from there and you will be able to play ME3.

yeah it's been said before and not just on here, plenty of games now require physx to be installed no matter what make /modle of gfx card you have, me2 was exactly the same though cos the program code is required for your pwoers to be able ot "bend " around cover and not be shown as ignoring the cover and hitting the target.....

i'm sure they use it for particle rendering as well in some of the more in depth content since a standard shader wont cut the mustard

Well that's the funny thing, PhysX is installed. I was playing ME3 fine until this new patch.

Try to reinstall PhysX. That may help.

Problem's been solved - I was able to fiddle with the installation and ME3 seems to be launching correctly now.
