I tried playing the overlord DLC yesterday and was entirely lost, LITERALLY.
I'm supposed to find these other bases or stations but there's no map that I can see and I can't firgure out to maneuver the hammerhead which has to be the crappiest terrain vehicle ever.
Can anyone give me a rundown on how to actually use this thing. I know that with my xbox controller, I press B and get over a vent to lift it. vents are apparently a key to this, but I only made it to the big vent station then into the building nearby to vent or something. Then after that I used the vent and had no idea what I was doing. I'm going to check out the walkthoughs, but I'm astounded that I can't even use my pressing the map button and find which direction I should head in - and that there's no map whatsoever with the crappiest terrain vehicle ever. Hovering over molten lava? Pretty lame. I died more times than not. I am quite lost in this one. Anyone got some help to offer? I feel like I'm flying blind - pun intended.
Once I get done with the initial base, I'm truly lost.

Sadly I have no idea of the controls for the xbox but basically the lava parts is a "jumping puzzle".
There should be a vertical boost button (hover) and a speed bost button (turbo).
I can't remember much of the maps right now but you could try here if you haven't allready.

Yeah, the Hammerhead really does suck, doesn't it? Not sure exactly where you are - sounds like somewhere in the Vulcan station section by the lava mentions but I'm not completely clear if you're stuck in the first bit or if you've made it up to the tunnel and on to the next section. If you're faced with lava flows you'll see slabs of rock floating downstream on them, and you have to hop the Hammerhead from one to the other. As you've found out you can't hover over lava and very soon after you land on a floating slab the damn thing sinks. Play these tasks kind of like you would a 3D platformer. Going from memory there are a three or four lava flows to cross - one which is quite narrow and can be cleared in one go with a bit of speed boost on the run up and then a well timed jump with the vertical boost, one or two about three times this width and need you to cross on the floating slabs, and a final one that's quite long as your landing area on the opposite bank is a way upstream. Approaching this final one the stream crosses from left to right and you head upstream to the left. To get there you go down a tunnel past a Cerberus turret (where you may also learn to curse the Hammerhead's weaponry and armour, or lack thereof), which I'm guessing is where you are now. If that's not making sense I'm guessing wrong. If so post again and I'll grab some screenshots over the weekend unless you work it out or find a video walkthrough that helps.
