Considering it had no impact whatsoever on 2, it'll probably amount to a line from an npc or something. Kind of like how Anders would made mention if the Warden was a mage, and how he had help from 2 mages, one an apostate.

The decision made in The Last Straw should have impact, not Hawke's class.

I suppose it could be the matter of the Champion of Kirkwall being a mage living outside the Circle Tower, who was able to defeat the Arishok, and potentially oppose the Right of Annulment to show that the templars could be defied in their attempts to carry out the execution of a plethora of mages.
