Has there been a Head-Shrinking spell cast upon the one with his hat on his chest?

I don't spend enough time in the taverns to care much, but if others want it I don't have a thing against saying go for it! If nothing else, then perhaps just an opening scene when you walk into a tavern to set the general mood?

There was no gambling at the Hanged Man. That's about the only thing that was lacking.

Honestly, though, I detest gambling mini-games. I'm a terrible gambler and mini-games just take up space that could be better utilized with more quests, companion banter and other junk that the game does a lot better.

Oh Gods, now all I can think about is my bad experiences with the gambling mini-games in the Witcher and the job mini-games in Fable II and III.

Technically, but all DA taverns and brothels thus far (the Gnawed Noble, the Pearl, the Hanged Man and the Blooming Rose) all felt pretty lifeless.

I generally agree that DA needs more spirited taverns (as well as being filled with more people), but I'd also like to see different taverns for different social classes (e.g., the Hanged Man clearly catered to the great unwashed, but I would have liked to see a more luxurious inn in Hightown for the upper crust).

The most annoying yet hilariously best part of a game I've ever played. It's supposed to be a small side thing you do in Fable and yet if I made a pie cart with where my time was spent on that game it would be full of woodchopping and ale pouring.

Gotta buy more houses and stores. What's that? There's a story about stopping some blah blah blah? Too bad I've got to buy that blacksmith and that hairdresser store.

Well if there was one good thing about Dragon Age 2 at least the hanged man had nice music.

But where was it coming from?! I really hate when you can hear tavern music but there are no musicians to be seen.

But I believe it was Patton Oswald that said being sober in a bar fight is the closest thing to being Neo in the Matrix you could experience. :D

Neither is going around chopping heads and spilling blood everywhere but you don't see the PC complain.

A realistic tavern? Really?

You mean one where some locals go each evening to have a quiet drink and talk about the days farming or local politics?

The one where the bartender knows his patrons and addresses them by name. He jokes with the locals, but is polite and professional with strangers. He likely has a wife that will cook a meal for some extra money.

The one where there is a cozy fire on cold nights and has a few old men sitting outside on a bench during warm days?

The sort that nothing exciting ever happens in? The one without men in cloaks waiting in dark corners or people seekign the help of strangers to aid in a strange and exotic quest? The one that is open from 2pm till 11pm and then everyone heads home?

The one without floozies, doxies and women of the night looking for clientel?

The one where the city watch never break down the doors looking for escaped prisoners or wanted outlaws?

That "realistic" tavern? Really?

Getting drunk with your party members / friends would be awesome. Drinking could unlock more personal details, secrets mwahahaha... Then walking around in a tipsy stupor would be perfect.

Perhaps adding a movement control limitation and blur effect as a temporary consequence would make for an *almost* complete experience :D

Probably not that one, Chris. The OP put up a picture where a guy has a dagger through the throat and no one cares. It's not that "realistic". :innocent:

Yes, and I'd like to be able to roleplay a merchant who manages to avoid getting involved in anything remotely related to inquisitions, or even better can I be one of the old men sitting outside on a bench? j/k
