Hello,

It seems like it's been awhile since I last asked a question here (which in my mind is a good thing). Anyhow, iwas wondering if anyone new of a way to edit the Skydome that is used when you put the area into a "Day/Night Cycle". Really what am looking for is a way to edit that pre-existing, and animated, skydome without the use of a custom "static" Skydome. Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks again.

I suspect that most things to do with the dynamic sky system are hard-coded, so not easily customised. About the only thing you could change easily is the appearance of the moon.

It depends on just what you are trying to do, but what DannJ said is true.

Okay, what file would I be looking at for the moon? Also, the idea I was going for was to hopefully add a second sun fairly close the the existing one. That said, it is not necessary to have a second set of shadows so again any ideas would be grand.

The moon is just a DDS texture in the 'materials' ZIP files in the game's data folder. I can't recall ever seeing a texture file for the sun. It may be a VFX, or it may be a hard-coded effect. If the latter, then there's no chance of customising it.

Thanks Dann, that gave me an idea

Good news,

Both the Sun and the moon are texture files. I found the sun texture last night and was able to modify it along with the moon texture and the results are promising! Mind you, the suns and moons only cast one shadow, but I think it's convincing enough and am quite pleased. So just to let you guys know the texture file for the sun is in the same place as the moon texture. However, it has an additional texture for the glow.

So I can now get my project going again. Thank you all for your help in this matter and the direction you gave.

They should be:

FX_moon.dds
FX_sun.dds
FX_sunglow.dds

and they can be found in the NWN2_Materials.zip under data.

R_Savo, could you post a screenshot of what you've done so far with the sun and the moon? I'm interested.
