I loved Shale in Origins. Who else would like to see a new golem companion in DA3?

Only if he/she is as humorous as Shale. Shale was, hands down, my favorite Origins companion. I never leave home without her.

But seriously, I think that would be tricky to do ANOTHER golem. I'm sure they could do it, of course. I just think it might feel a bit forced.

I don't think there are many (or any) golems with personality Shale was an oddity a fluke if you will I won't want one unless it had some personality (or we could just have Shale back I would love to have her back as a golem or a dwarf:D)

Eh, I think one golem was enough. I rather they gave us a kossith/demon/darkspawn companion for once.

I wouldn't want the golem to behave like Shale. I would want it to be very different.

Carriden had a personality, didn't he?

We had a Kossith companion already

Surprised I haven't seen Golem romance requests yet.

What if we get a golem with a working control rod. At some point the PC is given the choice of freeing the golem. If you don't free the golem, most of your companions hate you, but you have a very powerful slave. If you do free the golem, after a while he remembers that he was married to Shale and goes off in search of her.

Angsty moments galore!

I would rather have a female dwarf companion (Sigrun!) to make up for the utter absence of any female dwarves in DA2.

every rule has an exception with Shlale it was because the mage was tinkering with her insides so to speak Carriden  was the one who made them he bacame more than just a golem he somehow maintained his soul he's spark if you will i'm guess that most if not all others lose theres it's not to say there aren't any others like them out there i'm just saying it's very slim chance that there is

I think the central question is, are dwarven war golems fundamentally different from other golems that we encounter in the game, or are ALL golems a result of the anvil of the void or similar methods?  If all golems once had free will, then maybe "freeing" a golem would make sense.  However, if Carridan and Shale are unusual (perhaps Wilhelm did something to Shale?), then it may be the case that for a golem "freedom" makes no sense.  Perhaps golems are essentially puppets.

Carridan just seemed to have never undergone the part of the process that wiped his mind, wheras shale seemed to always hate her master, but couldn't disobey him

And it seems a safe bet that all golems were once dwarves

Yes...but more to that - I would like our third pair of pantaloons to allow an amazing transformation into an unstoppable hulk of destruction.

ANOTHER golem companion... I don't know. I'm pretty sure one is enough. What we really need to see is a female kossith companion, so we can explore what it was like to be female in the Qun. We've already explored life as a golem for hundreds of years - 30 of which were as a statue.
