Guys--
1) My mage has been carrying around vellums in my inventory forever I guess in the vain hope he can scribe scrolls or do somethign useful with them. Is their any point in hanging on to them or are they just sell junk?
2) The game manual says that CON affects hit points, but offers no guidance. The level chart appears to fix HP based on class alone. How exactly does CON affect HP, and to what degree? Intuitively I would think CON useful to a Blood Mage build, but how things should work, and how things actually work in a game are not always aligned.
Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Vellum is sold.
For every point you put into Constitution, you get +5 Health. This is on top of the base increase you get just for leveling up.

+5 health to total HP or +5 health per level? Thanks.

Given the game's mechanics constitution for blood mages and willpower for normal mages are not all that useful. Increasing the mana pool, be it HP or MP, may seem like a good idea but consider that potions have a relatively short cooldown, do not share cooldowns accross sizes or types, and increase in effectiveness based on the magic stat. Essentially pumping nothing but magic will, after the first potion, both increase the effectiveness of any spells cast and result in more total mana than pumping willpower or constitution.

Good to know thanks. I have been taking a fairly balanced approach to willpower and magic. That may be a mistake. If con only return a total of +5 hp / point then I think it is a fairly useless stat for any class that does not need it to unlock gear.

I think CON also adds to physical resistance, but I don't know how much.
Edit: STR & DEX also add to physical resistance, so you're better off dumping points into DEX if you want to tank.

Can you make the tracing without the vellum?

If the tracing to which you refer is that of the golem registry then no, you do not need anything to make it.
