I noticed this today, Gold seemed to be more of an ordeal than usual.
Maybe the patch psychologically made us expect the game to be easier, thus making it harder?
Is it just me or...

I haven't noticed it being any harder. I've just noticed a mass of new people playing who shouldn't be playing at the difficulty they're attempting. I think the patch has brought people out of the woodwork with rusty skills, and that makes it harder for everyone.

I haven't really noticed enemies being more aggressive.
Though I do feel like they're making a mockery of my shield gate in a way they weren't even close to doing pre-patch.

I actually think this is the reason, because once I warmed up (after dieing and failing about 3 missions from not much for almost a month), I was able to keep up with the match like I was before.

I've not really noticed Gold+ being any harder than before though.

I'm pretty sure many players use recent patches as an excuse for them having a series of crappy matches. Not saying the players are bad, not saying they're doing this on purpose, but humans naturally like to blame external sources for their problems. It's called casual self deception, we all do it at some point, it's perfectlly natural. Frankly I'm just happy the OP wasn't raging over it.

Well, if anything, it feels like enemies shoot with more accuracy and with an higher ROF. I remember that before the patch I could just waltz my way in on bronze without breaking any sweat, now I'm finding myself using cover a lot more.

Enemies are certainly more aggressive, phantom charge right at you now. Quite annoying at times, the problem seem to be that I'm getting two shot by a few different type of enemies (Example: phantoms two shot my character and I'm dead instantly.)

I don't really notice a difference other than playing a Krogard is amazing ... I love how they finally implemented a fix I've been mentioning since the demo days ... >.<

I have noticed that I will go down faster after my shields drop than ever before, as if we have no shield gate anymore. Was that intended?

Shields going down faster definitely even on Krogan Sentinel. Played a gold pug failed at wave 10. It was basically me and another player with 100,000 points each and two others with around 30,000. As bonus it's first game I've played when two players got the 15+ revive bonus.

Today I have noticed what seems to be a noticeable change in the characters. For one, all my guys seem really sluggish. I've had a hard time making melees connect, my shields vanish with no shield gate for no discernible reason, and the new "death cam" is absolutely awful. I die while I'm being killed, instead of immediately after, which makes no sense.

We did not alter this behavior and this is believed to be the case after every patch, I am not sure why.
I believe AI has been untouched since ship with the exception of the Banshee and that you cant really call a buff, it was to fix the issue we mentioned where she could get stuck teleporting back and forth.
Also we have not changed the amount of enemies that spawn per wave, with the exception of when we put in a new difficulty level but that was the first time you guys had seen that. (What I mean is for platinum it is higher spawn rate than gold)
Strange, the other night on platinum post-patch all four squadmates were above 100k, and I think that's the first time I'd ever seen that. Our first guess was more spawns... but now I'm trying to figure out what other variables could have all four squadmembers above 100k, because I don't know all the variables that go into the scoring.
