We currently have 43 different classes, the new ones will make 59 in total. 4 Volus classes is a tiny portion of the whole, we already have asari, batarians, quarians, vorcha and turians and will be getting more of each in the DLC - adding 4 volus classes means that there is simply a similar amount of classes for each race(except salarians, there are a few who are sore we haven't had any more)

I understand that seeing a volus fighting in a squad with other races on other planets is very unlikely. However, you do have to realise that the Volus do have a bombing fleet, and their planet will have some sort of defense force. They manufacture weapons and armour on their home world, so having Volus forces help fight the reapers is a possibility. The whole "but their suits would puncture" argument never stopped anyone playing as a quarian did it? People didn't kick up a fuss about krogans and salarians fighting together, or quarians and geth. I know its a tad far-fetched, but so are N7 teleporting cyber-ninjas "from a top secret facility in Brazil".

Why are Volus fighting in vancouver? Space Magic.

Bioware decided to add them because in every single "what new classes should we make" thread, lots of people posted about a volus over and over again, albeit most of them were making jokes about a volus adept, but public opinion seemed mostly in favour of having volus as a playable character..until they make one. Or four.

I look forward to their addition, if they were not big and fat and cumbersome and wearing suits then I don't think people would be moaning so much about lore - it really all about the ridiculousness of a little fat guy waddling about isn't it, you weight - biased, height-ist fascists you!

I want a Hanar. I am already getting Tigger the bouncing Turian, so you may as well give me a Blasto ;-)

I want a Volus on my team. He can ride on my hump, and act as a tail gunner!

Oh my god... this needs to happen now! hahahahaha

maybe volus can act as a 'pet class', 1 Skill that 'helps' other classes. eg Demolisher, i would love to see two-people loading a rocket/gernade launcher like old school weapons- *tap on shoulder* "Shes loaded, fire!!"
(other person would have to hit a promp to execute)

Hope bioware run a weekend operation where a Volus squadmate mate needs to extract of commendation pack.
Must have at least one Volus. Volus must extract. Can be soloed.

Whiners can either get over it or miss out.

Not really.

The "Quarians dying from their suits puncturing" is not the same thing as the Volus. The Volus will quite bluntly be killed almost instantaneously as their suits are pressurized in such a way that it allows them to...well, not die.

The Quarians (which I might add: the ones we're playing as have experience in the Migrant Fleet Marines, meaning they likely have combat rated suits rather than the normal civilian suits) will not have that same issue. Certainly, infection is a potential killer--but Quarians have failsafes built into their suits for that issue. We saw it on Haestrom in ME2 with Kal'Reegar, and in ME3 with the downed Admiral.

Quarians though are still vulnerable to being shot like any other race, with the majority of the Quarians we've seen killed by the "normal" causes of death. Death by infection takes a long time and requires going without treatment for the duration.

BTW:
Krogans and Salarians are forced to "come together" in the story arc. As are the Turians and Krogans.
Quarians and Geth can be forced to "come together" in the story arc as well.

And while I do not like the N7 Shadow...well at all, Shadow Strike isn't far fetched. After all--we saw Kasumi doing it in ME2. There's nothing preventing the method which allowed her to perform it being adapted. If it's a trained skill, she is working for the Alliance as well (if you kept her alive in ME2) and could have passed it on given that the N7 program is a "I teach you, you teach me" styled program.
If you're referring to the N7 Slayer though...I'm still not 100% sure how his 'blink' ability works. Best guess is that he manipulates his own mass in such a way that he becomes incorporeal through the manipulation of biotic fields.

Regarding Volus weapon production:

A volus manufacturer based in the Terminus Systems, the Elkoss Combine[/b] produces less expensive versions of items carried by high-end manufacturers. Functional yet affordable armor, weapons and omni-tools are all available from the Elkoss Combine. Elkoss Combine produces Assassin Armor and Gladiator Armor for humans and turians.
An armory license for Elkoss Combine can be purchased from Expat in the Citadel's Wards, or from Delan in the Citadel's Presidium, or from Opold on Noveria for 100 credits.

They essentially manufacture "licensed" designs.

I'd rather let them in the game and kick them there. Friendly fire anyone?

Lots of people kick because people choose Vanguards, or have a weapon selected on a class they don't think it works on, so kicking just because someone chooses a Volus isn't that outrageous.

The game is played by many different people for many different reasons and if having a Volus on your team really spoils the sense of fun that a person gets from a game, who are we to tell them they are wrong for doing so.

If you play a match with someone and they play terribly, never revive, die often, effectively leech, is it wrong to kick them? They are just playing the way they want.

All these things work both ways. I'm not saying I will be kicking Volus, but I might, I already vote kick for other reasons, I'd be hyporcritical to tell others what their kicking should be based on.

1. Good point
2. Damn. Nice
3. Earth DLC happens after the Cerberus invasion conducted after Shepard (you) raid it. Hence, why  two classes specialize in Phantom-level training and techniques (Sword melee, Phase Disruptor) as well as other technology ONLY available to Cerberus (N7 Vanguard & Shadow's armor) prior to the invasion and ofcourse subsequent understanding of their technology.
4. LOL

I was mildly amused by the idea of them putting volus in the game.

Thanks to guys on BSN like the OP, as soon as I unlock the little scamp, I'm going to play him exclusively in every single PUB I play. I will use a mic and I will talk like a volus into it constantly. I'm not alone in this and it's because of guys like you, OP. 'grats on your complete and utter PR failure.
