I'm with the OP. I'll usually just flat out leave, as I will NOT play with volus. If the others want the votekick the idiot, that's cool. Otherwise, I'll find a lobby with other people who are sober enough to be over a 3 year old red sand joke. If one of them joins a game midprogress, I hope they brought their medigel because they won't be getting any revives or help from me.
You're an idiodic child.
Funny hearing all this "maturity" from the pro-volus crowd.
If you think only children enjoy Volus then I seriously have to question your mental capacity and critical thinking skills.
Sure, if you say so.

I'm kind of hoping a volus with a claymore gets knocked on his arse when he fires like a borderlands midget.
Or maybe he'll get throwed away by the recoil like Will Smith in the first Men in Black !

You haven't even seen any gameplay of the Volus kits yet.

I've had enough of totally worthless characters with Warcraft's gnomes. Ill kick the crap outta Volus.
Not lore-friendly, a whole race of selfish economists (which I hate with all my heart) AND playable race in MP? Yeah no.
Edit: Here's your biotic wind.

Yeah, because a whole race is representated by a few individuals. All Volus in the whole galaxy are selfish economists. Seems legit.
I personally am not against Volus in MP, and would glady welcome them in our ranks. After all, we even got Vorchas, and I don't think Volus Soldiers are unacceptable here. They may have some special abilities to increase the stats of their allies, while being weaker alone? (who said "buff"?)
Waiting to see it confirmed or not, but I admit I would be a little disappointed if they are finally not added.
Also yeah OP, your signature just invalidate your facts, so you are the joke here.
Eh...I think a lot of the Volus hate stems from that tired "biotic god" joke that keeps getting flung around. It's difficult to take a character seriously if every time he is mentioned on this forum, it's accompanied by the reference. Way I see it, the Volus have become jokes. Their inclusion into multiplayer would immediately change the tone of the game. It's very likely that BW is just trolling us with them, as I'm sure they reaalize this. Not only that, but I don't think they've ever been this quiet about the contents of DLC. They seem almost reluctant to confirm anything beyond Chris Priestly's original post regarding Retaliation.
But yeah, OP, your signature is throwing me off. Perhaps you should change it.
Yeah, I guess you are right. I personally never really cared about this Biotic God joke, so I for one still consider them just as another race from the Mass Effect universe, which could decide to fight back if the universe is at stake.
But I can understand why some people can't get past the joke.

Fighting back is different than being physically capable of doing high risk strike op missions in environments designed for human-size models though.

True enough, but I still think Volus could be useful in strike teams, with special and advanced equipments, maybe as support characters.

I'll name my vanguard Volus after you, Rifneno. lol
HAHAHAH. This. I will have nothing but rifneno based volus names. It should become so popular as to be added to the ME lore as a volus name.

On a side note, may every lobby you join be filled with only Volus so that you will keep leaving lobbies until you eventually must leave the game completely.

Being immature doesn't simply mean you're a child. It means being nonsensical and foolish while lacking seriousness and rationality. The only real reason behind anybody wanting the Volus is because they think it'd be fun or comedic. Hell, I even see some advocates saying they want the Volus to be added AS a joke, something very risky to use above Bronze and/or heavy camping. Why would any sane person want BioWare to take the time to add something they'd just ****ing die or at least have a terrible time using? Some people like challenge maybe, but why put this in when those people can simply not put points into their powers or simply use 'bad' weapons? And to the people suggesting giving the Volus things that'd make them not explode when shot after Shields drop, that'd also prevent them from dying because it'd be so extremely ****ing protective, it'd put Krogan Vanguard durability and Vorcha regeneration to shame! That alone should make BioWare steer clear of the idea. The people who still don't get it after all these explainations, and keep posting **** that completely ****ing contradicts things that have been established for five years, and ignoring common sense, ALL for the sake of humor, are the childish ones.

Ooooor they could do something else with the class? Or they could change lore (bioware can)? Hey ... it doesn't even have to make logical sense... Re. the ending
In any case... I actually do tend to agree that base on what I've seen sofar. Volus shouldn't be ground troops (maybe niche engineering role).
Kicking people if they were added however is below even most children.

The game is played by many different people for many different reasons and if having a Volus on your team really spoils the sense of fun that a person gets from a game, who are we to tell them they are wrong for doing so.
If you play a match with someone and they play terribly, never revive, die often, effectively leech, is it wrong to kick them? They are just playing the way they want.
All these things work both ways. I'm not saying I will be kicking Volus, but I might, I already vote kick for other reasons, I'd be hyporcritical to tell others what their kicking should be based on.

Lots of people kick because people choose Vanguards, or have a weapon selected on a class they don't think it works on, so kicking just because someone chooses a Volus isn't that outrageous.
Umm... yes, yes it is.
Especially because we DON'T KNOW HOW THEY WILL BE PLAYED or basically pretty much ANYTHING about them apart that they are "Volus".

Did you only manage to read one line? Don't take one line and then base an entire response on that, how is it any more outrageous than kicking someone from your game for any other reason? I often play with my partner, he's rubbish, if we go to a public match people often try and kick him after the first match, he tries, he's not deliberately being rubbish and he enjoys the game, less than me, but still has a laugh. Is it fair for people to try to kick him, just because he doesn't play as well as they would like?
The point I was trying to make, is that we all have different reasons and standards that make playing this game fun, if it's okay to kick someone for one offense at making your game less fun, then it's okay for any other reason.
