We currently have 43 different classes, the new ones will make 59 in total. 4 Volus classes is a tiny portion of the whole, we already have asari, batarians, quarians, vorcha and turians and will be getting more of each in the DLC - adding 4 volus classes means that there is simply a similar amount of classes for each race(except salarians, there are a few who are sore we haven't had any more)

I understand that seeing a volus fighting in a squad with other races on other planets is very unlikely. However, you do have to realise that the Volus do have a bombing fleet, and their planet will have some sort of defense force. They manufacture weapons and armour on their home world, so having Volus forces help fight the reapers is a possibility. The whole "but their suits would puncture" argument never stopped anyone playing as a quarian did it? People didn't kick up a fuss about krogans and salarians fighting together, or quarians and geth. I know its a tad far-fetched, but so are N7 teleporting cyber-ninjas "from a top secret facility in Brazil".

Why are Volus fighting in vancouver? Space Magic.

Bioware decided to add them because in every single "what new classes should we make" thread, lots of people posted about a volus over and over again, albeit most of them were making jokes about a volus adept, but public opinion seemed mostly in favour of having volus as a playable character..until they make one. Or four.

I look forward to their addition, if they were not big and fat and cumbersome and wearing suits then I don't think people would be moaning so much about lore - it really all about the ridiculousness of a little fat guy waddling about isn't it, you weight - biased, height-ist fascists you!

I want a Hanar. I am already getting Tigger the bouncing Turian, so you may as well give me a Blasto ;-)

I'm not looking forward to their inclusion, I think it's space dust unreality just too far for my willing suspension of belief, but I do agree with you that now (or if) we have Volus, then there's no reason at all not to have Hanar too, or anything for that matter.

I still think the Volus are a troll attempt by BW. All this "leaked" info was put there on purpose. No one knew what the Phoenix Adept/Vanguards were until BioWare annouced them as being ex-Cerberus. How many people were saying they were Rachnic, Prothean, or Raloi?

They don't fit into MP. You can't play a game without an equipped weapon and the Volus have very short arms. Imagine them holding an assault rifle. Then there's the cover system - they won't be able to lean over any counter or barrier to shoot much less climb over it due to their size and bulk.

I'm just going to wait an d see.

The game is played by many different people for many different reasons and if having a Volus on your team really spoils the sense of fun that a person gets from a game, who are we to tell them they are wrong for doing so.

If you play a match with someone and they play terribly, never revive, die often, effectively leech, is it wrong to kick them? They are just playing the way they want.

All these things work both ways. I'm not saying I will be kicking Volus, but I might, I already vote kick for other reasons, I'd be hyporcritical to tell others what their kicking should be based on.

Personally I leave games/lobbies instead and find one to my liking. 

It's perfectly fine that people want a specific game, but please create a lobby for it and leave some for more "casual" game®s.

Don't hog a random one and kick people for playing the game in a way that you, as an individual, don't like. People, who have rather limited control over where they end up.



Serverbrowser would help. It's not like I would join the "Adepts only!!!" game with my gethgineer then...

I guess OP always kicks batarians playing against Geth on Thessia, or never plays against Cerberus on Hydra or London.

Kicking someone just because they choose to play as a character the OP (or others, as theres a lot of Volus haters here it seems) thinks doesn't have the right to be included in the MP is absurd imo. First of all... it's not your game, it's BioWare's. They can add to it whatever the Hell they want. I wouldn't mind playing as a Armored Ogre from Dragon Age: Awakening in ME3 MP... Why? Because it's ridiculous, and it'd be fun (not gonna happen, but meh w/e). Second, those who say about the lore... in SP, ok... I can fully understand that, but in MP who gives a flying f***?

Do we know exactly what powers/tech abilities/etc these classes have yet? Nope. For all we know they could be support buffers (like how I use my Red Mage and Summoner in Final Fantasy XI Online) and have abilties to assist the team and provide extra defense/offense/etc.

Until Tuesday comes and we know EXACTLY what classes are available, just calm down and be patient. Personally, I dislike the whole kick feature in the lobby because all it does is penalise those who's choice of character/weapon loadout, the others 'think' isn't going to work. I've used a lot of unusual weapon loadouts and performed fairly well in the game.

Just wait and see before jumping the gun... Hell, I say wait until you've unlocked all the characters and played them yourself and THEN decide if you like them or not.

N715 in gold PUG lobby wielding an avenger 3, no amps, barely any consumables while I'm equipping lvl 3's on all slots. Either made a mistake while searching for random games, in which case whoever's got the mic should point it out politely, or he thinks he's gonna get carried through for free creds. Unless I'm feeling like hampering myself for extra challenge, it ain't happening.

Obnoxious behavior in-lobby or in-game, inept gameplay significant enough to hurt the team after match, non-viable (Not talking non-optimum) builds for the difficulty, like a Drell Adept with Predator and Pistol Ultra-Light Materials and Pistol Melee Stunner, along with Strength Booster Armor Gear and Hydraulic Joints Bonus Gear, without Ammo Gear or Weapon Gear. You just don't ****ing do that on Gold.

I will be a Volus if it gets added, I don't really have to worry about you kicking me as I don't play bronze games. Even if you try, I will bet that everyone who is not 10, will turn around and kick your OWN ASS out of the game

Lore-wise I always thought that volus as soldiers was impossible - hence they are a client race of the Turian Hierarchy. However, MP is a playground where anything goes. If volus get added, I won't be angry - I'd think it was cool.

Elcor with cannons on their backs have been mentioned already in the games, so they seem a more viable option than volus. But whatever. Any new content to MP can only be a good thing. I'll be happy either way.

This is what Bioware haven't announced. Retaliation also includes a new football mode, replete with thresher maws bursting out of the pitch, biotic exploding volus footballs and guns. The only rule is to get the volus past the enemy goal line. Using whatever skills / tactics / violence required.
