If you can actually figure out a way to mod visuals (ie. create a reunion scene by adding more still artwork), I'm sure you could get a lot of help from the community in implementing it. These endings need to be modded to hell :P

Technically, it's possible in a crude way, you just replace the videos of existing ending slides with new ones that show whatever you wish. It's just that AFAIK, the voiceover will still be cut for time (as some lines were, if you watched the YouTube videos in the OP with comments), as that's something set in the scene files (which, again, AFAIK, Warranty Voider's latest tools allow the editing of, it's just a matter of figuring out what to change for what).

Don't take this is a bad way, but this is just sad, ridiculous and more sad. And none of those feelings have anything to do with the OP or the mod.

Nice experiment, Bioware. Rap it up so people can move on with their lives and enjoy the series again.

Yep. Anyone who is interested in that sort of thing, I'd suggest to check out this page and these forums.
I think it's feaible with some effort but that discussion is for another thread/forum =].

Yeah I already checked out those forums, and passed it on to some friends.

Seriously guys, if this can actually be done.. if the game itself can be modded to the point where say, the catalyst is retconned out of existence... it would be one of the greatest modding accomplishments ever!

Done. All it was was "you have no evidence!! You have no evidence!! you have no evidence!!". With only one actual counter-argument in the whole thing which was easily countered.

I appreciate the effort that went into this mod but I am disappointed. I still find Control and Synthesis to be abhorrent, so the only ending that means anything to me at this point is Destroy which is not addressed in this mod.

Still, it's a step in the right direction. This is something I've been hoping to see for a long time. I just hope someone eventually comes out with the narratively important ending -- a modified Destroy.

I just know I have no intention of choosing non-Destroy, as Bioware will only use Synthesis endings as data for justification for their nonsensical ending. (It's not like they can tell you're running a modified ending.)

I know. I think without removing Control and synthesis completely (something, I am unable to do), there is no way to make them less abhorrent. Thus, my goal was to go into the opposite direction and - as opposed to what the EC tried to do - acknowladge and show their "downsides".
I don't quite understand your last sentence though. Do you think we can influence BW's decisions for their next game by the ending data they get? I am afraid there won't be much meaningful data to analiyse for Bioware. Anyone who was slightly interested in the endings and the franchise will have looked at all of them. The choices of those who do not care are unpredictable at any rate. (That probably won't stop them from analysing anyway but it will stop them from drawing any meaningful conclusions)

As for the endings, I myself would choose destroy anytime myself (with a heavy heart due to EDI and the geth). However, that doesn't mean the other options should not at least make sense.
As for the destroy epilogue, see my post on page 1. I got it ready to go. By the way, while the epilogue remains unchanged (for now), there is a little surprise in the modded destroy ending when the credits play :).

I did look at the Femshep youtube, but it didn't include post-dialogue stuff. Having already finished the game, I'm not adverse to spoilers if you care to share what the Destroy (post-conversation) changes were.

And, yeah, I know what you set out to do and I admire it.  There's no footing to complain about someone's unpaid efforts not including you, I was simply disappointed. :) Somehow I always thought Destroy would've been the first to get retouched, even if it only involved a post-dialogue change of slides and a removal of the breath animation.

The original Catalyst dialogue doesn't bother me so much as our fate (galaxy and Shepard) post-conversation. If a mod did nothing but change half of the slides into a reunion set of slides, I'd be all for it. Heck, I'd commission an artist to draw them.

On that subject, are those slides individual in the files (easily replaced) or are they part of some large animation file?

I hope MrFob doesn't mind if I tell you :)

Yeah, it's separate little animation files in .bik format. They are not packed as I recall and located in EC-folder. I made new slides for my own fanmade ending, so theoretically it's possible to replace existing slides with something else and add them to the game.

By the way, MrFob, kudos to you. Your mod gets better and better =]

Thanks! But it appears to be missing something.

Looks like the .bik files are animations and are entirely located in /Mass Effect 3/BIOGame/Movies/, the trick is I'm looking for the EC stills to add proper closure (although i may edit some of these as well). Did I miss the stills in the mix? If you happen to know offhand where the file is located or a partial filename, that would be fantastic. :)

Er... No, you're doing everything right, it's my mistake, sorry
You need to find a file Default.sfar (BIOGame/Dlc/DLC_CON_END/CookedPCConsole), open and unpack it with ME3Explorer. You will find a Movies folder inside.

is there some sort of a rescue/reunion scene for Shep in the high EMS destroy?

Unfortunately, no.

End of interest.

I don't like it. A lot of work, but I still don't like it. A lot of technobabble but it's no better than the current endings. Sorry.

OP, this is wonderful work. Regardless of what anyone thinks of the story changes, it's clear you did a bang-up job of integrating the extra material into the existing game with very limited modding tools. And you cared enough to put thought into your take on the endings--that's more than the original ending ever did.

Once a more polished version is released, would you mind sharing a more detalied walkthrough of your methods so other people can also mod the endings? It's a crude way to get people what they wanted, but it beats having a lot of still-dissatisfied gamers.

this is unbelievably awesome! Can you do a refuse ending that's exactly the same, but just mods happy epilogue slides in after it cuts to fade to black? Instead of Liara's time capsule?

OP, if you ever manage to add a 'happy(er) note' on the destroy / refuse (yes, I'm talking about that reunion slide / scene / stuff).. I will call you SaviourFob. Or PresidentFob if you like... XD

Shepards voice is horrid. At least in this .

But either way, great job. The voice for the starbrato is good though.

It's worse. Dare I say... utterly idiotic and stupid beyond measure.

It's pretty much the same as stating the ultimate villain in all fantasy novels wasn't the vicious warlord, the evil sorceror or the mad king, but it was... their weapons and arms. The element Fe  was controlling and manipulating them all. Or did I misinterpret something.

Hey everyone,

This is the second edition of a thread, I opened about 2 months ago and it is for the second version of MEEM – the first Mass Effect 3 Ending Mod.
Download it here.
(This is a preliminary version, especially the synthesis and refusal epilogues still need some work and will be updated soon)

What is MEEM?
Essentially this mod is fan fiction. It is a re-imagined ending for Mass Effect 3 that can be added and will work directly in the game itself. Basically it kicks in when Shepard rides up the magic elevator and puts his/her conversation with the catalyst (which in the mod is no longer the catalyst) into a completely new context
The old version was only for male Shep with high EMS. The new version has the same content but has a couple of additions:
- FemShep version is now included (thanks heaps to FC_paragon for the VO)
- New MaleShep version (all credits for MaleShep's new VO go to NightHawkinLight)
- Corresponding epilogues for the Control ending (which is called "Integration" in the mod) for both, FemShep and MaleShep
- Low EMS with unique dialogue should work (I didn't have a savegame to test it though, so there might be a couple of bugs)
- Medium EMS should work as well (but again, it's not tested and I suspect bugs)
- New and improved Synthesis epilogue spoken by a "transformed Liara" (thanks again to FC_paragon, video link will follow asap)
- Changed Renegade conversation/Refusal epilogue to make the sacrifice of our cycle less meaningless (we still loose though)
- In game audio is improved (still not perfect but better than before)
- In-game subtitles added and partially corrected

Please note, while the mod is now "content complete" if you will, it's still a work in progress and I'd appreciate feedback in any kind or form. Thanks!

Make an IT Shepard wakes up mod and give me a boss battle with Harbinger.... I know it might seem impossible but  anything is possible if you set your mind to it.  You'd be my hero if you could do that.
