Realistic gore

I want to see people burn to ash from fireballs and lightning, or their eyeballs blow up from electricity, or people desolve in acid, brake into bloody peaces from being hit while frozen etc.
So yeah.

You want to see that kind of violence and death, play the newest MK game. Tons of that stuff, plus it's a really fun game where that kind of ridiculousness not only fits but is expected.

Yeah...I don't think we're going to get anything more gory than what we've seen in the last two games. Which is fine with me; after a level that kind of wanton blood and guts is just too much, regardless of the rating of the game.

No I mean, the gore was already there in DA2. I just want the REALISTIC one. Aka people actually dying in a way they were supposed to die. Burning in fire instead of exploading or bleading for example, same for other types of damage.

I think the exploding enemies in DA2 was ok, because it was stylized, brief, and imo fit the tone of the game. The finishing moves in DA:O were equally ok. Watching someone turn into ash or watching their eyes pop out because they are being hit by lightning is more befitting of a game like MK. Or, if you want an RPG equivalent, a game such as Fallout (though they also treat that kind of violence tongue-in-cheek).

Also torture should be in - some strangling, whipping, bonecrushing, etc... I hope we will have a personal torture, maybe even a companion.
Besides that some usual things like beheading, cutting of arms/legs, impaling, (ooooh, impaling on spikes should be available as means of insisting fear in populace - like Vlad the Impaler)

I agree with the OP, I'd like an option to have more realistic gore in combat. The FB2 engine already supports a lot of physics and animation systems needed to have realtime death and dismemberment. By the end of the game you should be so powerful with that 2handed sword that you should be cleaving darkspawn clean in two with your special attacks. I want physically simulated hunks of meat flying everywhere when you use walking bomb.

Do you think we will have some for DA3? A specially for magic and bombs, since it's a lot more realistic for melee and ranged combat.

....This is what you think is 'realistic'...?

Well, it is dark fantasy....in DA:O there are beheading killing moves (funnily dagger also can behead), there is none in DA2
You can behead with dagger in real life as well. It just takes a few more "tries" then with sword or an axe.

now... i will need a whip i guess... and some other things
on topic - DAO gore was fun, well made and placed. DA2 gore is simply retarded. So more DAO gore and no DA2 gore.

I feel I should mention that Skyrim does that as well, though.

My opinion is still the same, moving to the 'realism' you are requesting is absurd. There is nothing to gain by making enemy deaths even more violent and gruesome. There is a line between 'mature' and 'needless'.
SOmething like this would be awesome

Mmmyeah. I could do without anymore exploding bodies and with occasional (short, not cinematic) deathblows including magic deathblows. But I don't know if 'realism' is really what they should shoot for. If they make it too "real" it just seems a little sadistic.KainD wrote...

Yes, you can. It just takes more effort. You can behead someone with an ice cream spoon with enough elbow grease.
