Speaking of Drell, so glad they fixxed the Vanguard bug. Drell Vanguard is one of my favorite characters. I get to play him more now  His mobility is amazing.

Surely that makes much more sense than a volus engineer, considering that they can't run very fast, and so charge would help them get around the field. Also; we have met about 3, maybe 4 volus in the whole of ME.

Who's to say that they don't have some prototype armor, or even just armor in general, since all of the others wear a 'civilian' outfit.

ALL of them are using armor, it's the same model.

It's also only the image on the character card. We have no idea how they'll work in game. Realistically, since all characters so far are the same height, they'll have bigger suits that make sense in a battle. They're... they're more machine than Volus now...

Except that, up to this point, Bioware has not been willing to invest the resources to make entirely new character models.  The Geth, Batarians, Asari Justicar, Kroguard, Male Quarians, and Vorcha were all based off existing models.  I believe even the Ex-Cerberus were based off a model from that Infiltrator game.

I'd say the odds of Bioware investing the resources to create entirely new character models, and all the animations that go with them, just to put Volus in MP are extremely low.  

Either the Volus are going to be a joke, or they are going to use a (possibly modified) model that already exists.

As I said in a thread, the reason of their existence may be Halloween, think about it:
- It's on the same month of Retaliation.
- Bioware can activate their content the day they want.
- If I'm right, Halloween is a celebration where everyone are in costumes and makes pranks... I guess, never celebrated it down here.
- Volus are used for comedic relief.

This is why there are 16 instead of 12, the reason of existence of these 4 extra characters is to celebrate that date.

Codex entries mention Volus having ground troops that they support the Turians with, when needed. We've only ever met civilians, but lore-wise, they exist. Realistically, they must have better suits more suitable for combat, but it isn't lore-defying.

If you compare the images side by side, the new ones have less height.

Having Volus that are willing to fight is one thing.  Having Volus that are capable of keeping up with the best Special Forces troops in galaxy is stretching believability a little bit too far, IMO.

And looking at those images again, will the Volus even be able to hold most of the weapons in the game?  I mean, try imagining one of those Volus with a Revenant, or even a Harrier.  It doesn't look like their character model is even capable of holding two-handed weapons.  Unless Volus will be restricted to Pistols and SMGs (and I think taking 1/4 of the DLC classes and restricting them to two weapon types would be stupid).

Edit: Random thought: Volus + ladders.  How the hell will that work?

But in all seriousness, I don't see how volus could be implemented without turning the whole thing into a giant lulzfest. Let's see how it turns out, if it turns out that way.....

("Sucker" would be much fitting though...)
