Aren't volus supposed to blow up if their suits are punctured? Or their skin tears.

Reposting for those who can't be bothered to read the thread fist.

Surely a volus vanguard makes much more sense than a volus engineer, considering that they can't run very fast, and so charge would help them get around the field. Also; we have met about 3, maybe 4 volus in the whole of ME, so who's to say that they don't have some prototype armor, or even just armor in general, since all of the others wear a 'civilian' outfit.

*sighs as well*

I didn't want to get into this discussion again but no, a Vanguard makes the least sense of all (even less than a soldier) considering how they need to get up close and personal, where their immobility would hinder them even more.

And it is a great idea to put a being, that can only live inside a pressure suit outside of their homeworld and would just turn into a giant gooey mess the second the suit is punctuated, into close quarter combat....

Nothing the return of Omni-gel won't patch up.

You people will believe anything. The volus are a place holder. It's pretty much for situations like this. Bioware knows we are all snoops, so they left false positives around.

If this is true and we're really getting no new Salarians but 4 Volus and a Vorcha Engineer, i want Protheans, Raloi, Elcor, Hanar and a Yahg ROAR Soldier.

+ Nemesis Ex-Cerebrus Infiltrator
+ Master Chief

....

Their atmosphere is absurdly high-pressure, and it's full of gasses that are absolutely toxic to most species in the game. If they exploded whenever the suit were punctured, they wouldn't be allowed near anyone else, because they'd basically function as walking toxic bombs if one were ever shot, or maybe even if they just tripped. The suits have to have some redundancies. That aside, lore-wise, why are you perfectly okay with an Asari having a Banshee palmforced through her chest, and getting up a few minutes later, battle-ready?

Anyways, we've only ever seen civilian Volus. We can't have ANY idea of what they'll function like in a combat setting.

Wow, a Volus Engineer is at least kind of conceivable (although I don't like that idea either) and the Adept goes along with the "biotic God" stuff, but a vanguard ? Really ? I still hope this is just a massive troll by BioWare....

Have you seen his Biotic Charge? Is amazing:

[lulzimage]

Yeah I have seen it. I figured something along those lines as well. Beware of the charging *hiss shhhhh* breath *hiss shhh* bubble....

But in all seriousness, I don't see how volus could be implemented without turning the whole thing into a giant lulzfest. Let's see how it turns out, if it turns out that way.....

The Vorcha are already in the game... And let's be honest: Half of the stuff they say is a joke
Personally I don't have any problem with them, I'm pretty sure that they'll be "unique/WTF" characters with their own mechanics and skills.

I can see a Volus Engineer/Infiltrator hybrid coming in handy as essentially a turret placer and medic. But, guess it's just the engineer for now.

They can be hosted by Bioware and still be fake. Have you considered that, OP?

F**k we are getting volus. Very disappointed.

Yeah, and up to this point the lore was decently upheld (Don't give me the crap about us killing infinite mobs), but Volus? Give me a break.

Codex entries mention Volus having ground troops that they support the Turians with, when needed. We've only ever met civilians, but lore-wise, they exist. Realistically, they must have better suits more suitable for combat, but it isn't lore-defying.

Having Volus that are willing to fight is one thing.  Having Volus that are capable of keeping up with the best Special Forces troops in galaxy is stretching believability a little bit too far, IMO.

And looking at those images again, will the Volus even be able to hold most of the weapons in the game?  I mean, try imagining one of those Volus with a Revenant, or even a Harrier.  It doesn't look like their character model is even capable of holding two-handed weapons.  Unless Volus will be restricted to Pistols and SMGs (and I think taking 1/4 of the DLC classes and restricting them to two weapon types would be stupid).

At last! A logical reason why volus shouldn't be fighting in MP.

They're definitely not a bad photoshop. Also, the 'edit' bits at the bottom address this. I agree; they may be trolling us. But I don't see why they would.

If they are placeholders then bioware did a gigantic volume of work to make the placeholder. New volus model, skinned and rigged, posed, lit, detail paintover.  In terms of art assets for the sake of having a lol placeholder they did the same volume of work it would take to put the character into the game. That does not make a lick of sense.

Plus, and this cannot be stated enough. I am pretty sure the first appearance of these images came from onetrueshot. The guy who predicted EVERYTHING anout this expansion correctly.

Someone else figured it out and made it post, but it got ignored. I made similar posts, and they were ignored, usually followed by "no way these are real lol!" Just wanted to make sure that people saw and understood that the images aren't FAKE, since they come from Bioware. Even if they're a troll/decoy, they aren't fake.

Eh? They look like the basic model simply posed, some with Biotic glowy and lens flare.

I think you're taking the word "explode" a bit too extremely.  They'd explode the same way a microwaved hotdog does when overcooked or the way a sea creature who lives at 30,000ft below sea level does when brought up.  The interior body pressures overcome the strength of the skin and the insides rupture out forcefully, killing the creature.   It wouldn't necessarily do alot of harm to others nearby except for maybe an errant flying shard of bone.

HAHAHA i'm back from the dead.
Anyway, it is like people don't think before they post stuff like this.
Placeholder? GIVE ME A BREAK. Why would they create distinct and different volus images for each class as placeholders when they could have just put a salarian, turian or whatever there.

The volus are coming, like it or not. That one true shot guy "predicted" it and sofar he has been pretty damn accurate. So yea. Add all of this stuff up and the logical conclusion is... 1+1= volus.

*sigh*

This is exactly what I was afraid of. And still, there are idiots parading that tired "biotic god" joke. Why the **** do we need four of them? You people have already confirmed their ridiculousness many times over. One would've been more than enough, but four? You people do realize they'll be twice as many volus as there are Salarians, right? That is NOT ok. Whatever side of the lore argument you're on, you have to agree that Salarians (and every other race in MP so far) should have more of a representation in the galaxy's elite than motherflippin' Volus.

Come Tuesday (or whenever these four idiots are released), this game's tone will instantly change into one of absurdity. Way to ruin the game, BSN.

So... Volus eh?

I'm a bit torn about it... On one hand I can't help but think how ridiculous and stupid will this look... But on the other, the image of a heavy armoured Volus holding a Revenant and 'running' towards an Atlas yelling "For Irune!!!" is just too awesome not to make me excited!
