besides realistically...
common do you REALLY think they are going to release 16 characters... new maps new weapons AND a new enemy race in ONE DLC?
Bioware have been VERY generous when its come to MP expansions but I dont think its going to be THIS big... what else are they going to release after this?

We're getting 4 characters with the DLC. 12 more will be added in the following weeks.

No. The other 12 characters are not part of other DLCs. All 16 characters come with Retaliation. But instead of activating them all at once, Bioware is releasing sets of four on a "regular basis." Meaning that we could get four characters per week starting Tuesday, which would take a month for all 16 characters to be added.
I suppose they are doing this to keep people interested over the next month so those that stockpile millions of credits don't end up getting everything on day one and end up getting bored within a week or two.

while I am all in for more DLC...
this still sounds extreeme to me... they still dont have any Salarian STG characters yet. or "Spectre" units... even Drell.... whatever else they can be
I thought Bioware would be wanting to extend MP as much as they can... to be releaseing THIS many characters over such a short peoiod of time seems folly... each of the MP DLC's so far have kept people playing so why this HUGE addon now? it almost seems like this is their last push before giving up on MP and focus on SP DLC or something...

I don't think this will be the end. The devs said they still have more SP and MP content on the way.
Also, there are two separate teams for ME3. One develops SP content and the other makes MP content. So they won't have to sacrafice the development of one side for the other.

To be fair... they generally give us one of each class. 16 is a weird number. 12 would be two of each class. Remove the Volus, and you have 2 adepts, 1 soldier, 2 engineers, 1 sentinel, 2 infiltrators, and 1 vanguard. We only see 13 classes, so we're definitely missing 3. If we have 1 soldier, sentinel, and vanguard missing, then we'll get up to 2 in each class.oO Stryfe Oo wrote...

This is exactly what I was afraid of. And still, there are idiots parading that tired "biotic god" joke. Why the **** do we need four of them? You people have already confirmed their ridiculousness many times over. One would've been more than enough, but four? You people do realize they'll be twice as many volus as there are Salarians, right? That is NOT ok. Whatever side of the lore argument you're on, you have to agree that Salarians (and every other race in MP so far) should have more of a representation in the galaxy's elite than motherflippin' Volus.
Come Tuesday (or whenever these four idiots are released), this game's tone will instantly change into one of absurdity. Way to ruin the game, BSN.
People might be right. They could totally be joke classes. It would make sense.
Well, we are getting at least 1 character per class, so that does seem fair. It just seems like a waste of time to incorporate so many joke characters and leave the real characters without a new character model. I mean, 4 out of the 5 Asari will be using the same character model, for crying out loud! Barring the lore-bending and ridiculousness of it all, my true problem with the Volus lies more in what we could have had. Put it this way, if the other characters were all as impressive (and different) as the Turian Havoc Soldier, I swear you'd be hearing nothing from me about the Volus.
