Bioware's best games in the fantasy genre all have one thing in common

Baldurs Gate, known as the first and second best RPG of its kind.
Baldurs Gate 2, known as the best RPG in history
Neverwinter Nights, a game met with massive critical acclaim and fan love.
Dragon Age Origins, The best modern RPG
All of these have playable femdwarves.
Poor BioWare Fantasy Games:
Dragon Age 2, enjoyed only by payed IGN writers and Chris Hoban
Does not have female Dwarves
Let us now assume the following formula
Bioware game+Female Dwarves=Sucess
Bioware games-Female Dwarves=Failure
Enlightening, isn't it?

Edit: Likewise with Neverwinter Nights, but there I admit to having not played the multiplayer, which was a huge component by all accounts.
Double edit: And I'm hoping that this thread topic is a joke.

I think the fact that you believe Baldurs Gate 1 and NWN are bad games shows that you are infact the one that is joking.

It is about as fantasy as Planescape.

Female dwarfs are also playable in World of Warcraft.
Baldur's Gate is definitely not the best RPG in history. It was good for its time, revolutionary even perhaps, but its definitely not the best in history.
NWN got critical aclaim equal to that of Dragon Age 2 - the game was full of bioware 'clicheeeeeeeeeeeees' - just look up the table for it on interent. It was practically what Bethesda is getting scorn for - that they just made a sandbox game with editor - and rest do it your self. Although i agree it was a big step forward with Aurora Engine and its possibilities for RPG modding - best mod i ever played(A Dance With Rogues) was on NWN 1 and that was better then many of the complete RPGs.
I don't know what makes Dragon Age: Origins a modern RPG. The reason why it was so popular in the first place, was because it was more of a retro game, then a modern RPG. Modern RPG is synonimous to streamlining and accessability to wider audiance (Mass Effect or Elder Scroll 5:Skyrim seems more like a modern RPGs then DA:O)

Nope, dead serious. I think they're terrible.

Of cause they can only too so much.
A game is only great if people remember it.

Considering that "success" and "failure" mean different things to different people, and can therefore be measured in a variety of ways, it's an interesting opinion, but I don't know that I would call it enlightening.FaWa wrote...

Anyway, I support having female dwarves back in DA3 (though I don't think that someone would disagree with this). About playable fem-dwarves, I doubt it'll happen.

Dragon Age 2 is superior to DAO. Your argument is invalid.

If female dwarves are gone again, that just means the game was super rushed again.syllogi wrote...
While I'm not going to boycott DA3 if female dwarves aren't playable, I will definitely be unhappy if female dwarves are inexplicably absent again. Especially if we're traveling around Thedas. I could at least pretend that female dwarves had the good sense to stay away from Kirkwall and the surrounding area.
