"What" implies received knowledge and inherited tradition, but does not question the intentions behind it. "Why" is a more useful, expansive and perhaps intelligent inquiry in the sense that not only is the asker receiving information but also attempting to discover and question the origins and implications attached to meaning, rather than swallowing it whole. At least in academic terms and everyday critical thinking, "why" is and should be a word that is used much more than "what".

If you had the time and money to take a course / class on any subject of your choice - from DIY home improvements to quilting to Japanese language to weight training - what would you choose and why?

since i have the time and the money,i would travel to japan to learn their language,Since I already speak tagalog ,speaking japanese would be cool. Besides I think japanese women are too hot!

Possibly never. Even within cultures and societies, certain looks are seen as more desirable and preferable over others. (Whiter skin over darker complexions, which as you probably are aware is quite prevalent in Asian communities all over.)

People are people and people suck. I guess when people of different colours grow up beside each other and find a common enemy, they will start to understand. Some do already.
