Hm...thats a toughie...my job is pretty flexible (i make pizza ) so I just told em it was my mom's bday and i wanted some time off. (and its not a lie...it IS my mom's birthday and I WANT time off...of course i have no intention of spending it with my mother  they don't need to know that)

If you're important you might be SOL, but you can always make something up...like that a baby is due (which isn't lieing depending on how screwed in the head you are). However if you're lookin for something that you can prove...you could always chop a finger off....or throw your dog down the stairs. "My dog died gimme time off"

When you buy a technical item, like a computer for example, do you leave it as is or modify it to your liking?

Try and modify it to my needs, but it is getting more difficult as the Tech evolves and the programmers do not.
