In kotor 2 revan's sex, personality and history are defined in game depending on how the pc responds to atton's questions -- What if that same dialogue system could be used to define the warden and hawke's personality in game? I.e : Diplomatic, sarcastic, Agressive. And from there they could have a different variants of dialogue depending on the personality chosen when talking to the pc.

EDIT: For those who'd rather their previous characters be talked about, but not shown, in what form would you like this to appear in the game?
Personally, the only way I can think of this working for me is if we see the Warden or Hawke in the distance or perhaps walking away as the Inquistor approaches in a cutscene. I would prefer the Warden/Champion be wearing armor and helmet so the face is concealed and all we can really see is gender and maybe race (I'm thinking about my favorite female dwarf Warden). I don't really want to have any conversations with, or as, my Warden. If there were to be any kind of interaction, then the Warden can send a messanger to speak for her/him. Hawke is different because the VA is the same for everyone.
Honestly I just don't want to see the face of either because there is a very good chance they won't look anything like they did in my games, and that would defeat the main purpose of having the Warden/Champion show up to begin with. I would be perfectly content to just hear about what the two of them have been up to rather than actually see them, but if the devs decide to include it I would be fine with what I've mentioned here.

Even the "quick glance from a long way away" is difficult. Sure you could do the Warden armor and Champion armor but there are so many variables. Gender, race, hair color, skin color, class (warrior/rogue/mage). It just doesn't want. It doesn't make reasonable sense for either to appear without making it an unnecessary hassle.PurebredCorn wrote...

Better to just have them in passing mention and occur completely off-screen.

I would love to see my canon Warden with a glorious cameo..., but I frankly doubt Bioware could bring the kind of cameo I have in mind. And I sincerely doubt I want to see my city elf with the new "design".
I'm not sure what they want to do with this -probably a cheap way to hook previosu DA players- but I would certainly appreciatte if they allow me to ignore Hawke cameo -maybe an option to import Origins alone and not Dragon effect 2? That would be perfect.

I'd like to think so, but I'm not sure how much of that was bioware or obsidian.I know bioware helped obsidian with kotor 2 but what that help actually was, Idk...

She/he didn't have a voice. And in my head She/he may have a different voice from the one used, but I care little. The first words may be a little traumatic at first, but I can live with it.
As fot the way the Warden may look...it would be good have the chance to manipulated it. There could be a lot of way to do so. Maybe someone ask how the Hero of Ferelden look like? someone (maybe Leliana, or a ex campanion?) start to describe the Warden: she/ was an Elf/Dwarf ecc. and than the page with the imported character appears, ready to be modelled or adjusted as we like.

The Warden though, yeah, I'd leave the warden out all together. I love my character and would be crushed to see them make a return, especially voiced.

What if the player could play, for some missions, as the Warden or Hawke, using them instead ot the Inquisitor? of course in different place, or why not, time. The Warden or Hawke could even be present as protagonists of a playable flashback.
or just for a mission in another place. Example: the Inquisitor is travelling to go in a village away from the town. Somewhere in the opposite direction, you take control of Hawke who's helping some mage to run away (or chasing them, who know...). you fight controlling Hawke, than, at the end of the quest, the player retake control of the Inquisitor, who's arrived at adestination.
You have seen your old character, made him/her made her choise, fight, without having problem with playng a double part.
What do you say? I know many didn't wish to see at all their old character, but I think playng with them for one last time would be fun.
Oh, same example could be done with the Warden.
It could be interesting use three character in only one game.
I'm hoping we get that with some of the former companions. An actual mission with them instead of a passing comment or cameo. Rather like what they did with Nathanial. So doing the same with Hawke or the Warden would be nifty as well.

Thats an idea for sure. Maybe one of the missions is you go to a tavern to locate a dwarf to interrogate info. Turns out to be Varric and you have a Hawke flashback story telling mission. Only a brief one. A similar thing could be done for the Warden with Lelianna or even a super drunk Ohgren. Hell, if Sten is really the new Arishok maybe he could even go into a story type thing.
It could even be a neat way to "skip" the save import and let you basically replay the very ending bits of the two previous games and use that as the "import" and have more peripheral details filled out through some conversations. "Did you hear about the King of Ferelden?" "You mean Allistair/Warden/Isn't it Queen Anora?" etc.

Eh I don't care what they do with Warden's or Hawke's appearances. I'd like to see how it crosses over, in all honesty. Maybe it's a streak of morbid curiosity. Unsure.
Yeah, I get you. I kinda just want to know what their ideas were even if it's not in game.

We will see Warden in the Eluvian banging their fists against their side of the mirror, unable to ever get out. And then we're forced to watch Godzilla chewing their head off. The whole scene happens in complete silence.

I kinda agree with this. If they did run into Warden or Hawke, I'd rather faces not be shown. And I don't want to control the conversation on W/H's behalf.

- Allow player to customize face of Warden & Champoin (and story if DAIII dont have import feature or player dont habe previous save)
- Player see him/her in many flashback / vision / dream without any word (still have voice to support his/her acting and feel)...or have some word if Voice is accept from many player
- Player finally meet himher in Real....and have some conversation if Voice is accept
- Player fight along with Warden & Champion in Cameo and show some perfect combo between three of them (I can't wait to see My all Mage use triple magic to destroy the army's enemy or Boss)
