Do you like for them to use face models like with Mass Effect? It would give a realistic look to the character. I know that a lot of games out there use face models, but Mass Effect games look like a copy-and-paste kind of things in which the face model like almost exactly like the character. The default shepard look is different from the other Shepard I think is because of the face model thing.

For the main character, no. It was frustrating creating a male Shepard because it was impossible to make a better looking one.
But for other characters, yes.

No. Remember Miranda and Diana Allers?

I think DA companions already look good enough without the need of face models.

Face models can be hit or miss. Rather they built them from the ground up like usual. Tallis for example was very much love or hate.

Miranda looked pretty good. Samara also had a face model and looked good as well. So did Liara. I think Kaidan and Morrigan had face models as well. All look good.

Hmm... I suppose you're right.

Yes, I do want a face model for protagonist. The console version of DA2 had a disappointing character creator so I welcome a great looking default.

How would you know that? Heck, I could be the king of France for all you know.

Except that France has no king, sure. But royalty doesn't exempt you from being unattractive.

Also, anyone who calls a woman he doesn't even know a "fat pig" is instantly ugly enough to repel me.

Except he called "Diana Aller", you know a video game character, a fat pig. Not Chobot.

I don't agree 100% but there it is.

XCelfa is right. Just for the record, I am not the King of France.

DArkKnightHolmes is also correct. I wasn't calling Chobot herself a pig, but whatever Bioware did to get her (and Miranda's) face in the game, it makes it look like she put on about 50 lbs, and all on her face. Not good.

Except that Chobot is the face model and a real person. Call a spade a spade.

Do a side by side comparison and then get over yourself, sister.

Read what marsh said. They look different.

I feel the same, and the same about Miranda. I think Miranda looks fairly ugly, but Yvonne does not in my opinion look ugly. I don't particularly care for her looks, but she isn't ugly. But they are different.

Thats the thing with face models.

Some real life faces translate well into games, but others do not.

Diana Allers for one. ICK.

But others were great.

A good compromise could be to get a face model and use their face as inspiration for a completely original looking character, rather than trying to make a direct transition.

Though I don't know if Bioware does that already. Some transitions into the game might look so terribad because of something on Bioware's part.

Nope. Even though some of the faces in Battlefield 3 for instance looked good, they still had an Uncanny Valley vibe to them. Now maybe they take face models as a starting point and then tweak them so that they're significantly unique creations. But simply trying to replicate some real person's face into the game? No, don't do that.

Furthermore, even when they do get a good face model like default Shep that looks ok most of the time (barring creepy animations) it almost always ends up where any non major NPC looks several leagues lower in quality and attention. And that is pretty distracting too.
