i am doing the last part in the Anvil of Void part and these golems are too powerful. With Branka not fighting but indicating she is hostile my party start to attack her. Meanwhile all the golems which should be helping are getting smashed to pieces by the enemy golems.

If Branka is not meant to fight until the end why did you make her Hostile and generate threat. She needs to be switched off until the end of the golem part.

Also what is the best ai tactics for this match? With my myself being a mage the only healer it seems very hard with little health potions available. Just seems this chain is too long with any breaks to re-stock up on before the end fight. Plus all the loot in the game i have 65/70 in my inventory.

You can head back to Orzammar to sell crap and restock before entering the last zone where the anvil is located. Also, don't you buy any backpacks?

I cannot remember where i saw those backpacks. But if you leave the area you have to start again from start . And this is HUGE this area. Most of the areas are locked so you cannot leave too which is most annoying.

Each time you get to the deep roads map and see a new area open up you can get out of the deep roads and get quickly back to the new area without going through the other deep road areas. So when you leave the Dead Trenches and could click Anvil of the Void on the map you can instead go back to Orzammar, or even all the way out to the main world map. Then when you go back into the deep roads from Orzammar you can click on Anvil of the Void and go right there. Once you get into Anvil of the Void you are locked in until the fight is over and you can't get back out.

As to the fight itself, manually redirect your own party members to fight the golems. And if you have any way of keeping Branka out of the fight (forcefield, cone of cold, paralysis, etc...) do so until you mop up the golems.

As far as the backpacks are concerned, you can buy them at the following locations:

  • Quartermaster in Ostagar - Before you become a Grey Warden.
  • Quartermaster in Ostagar - After you complete the Korcari Wilds.
  • Bodahn - First time visiting Camp (after Lothering cutscene).
  • Bodahn - Second time visiting Camp.
  • Bodahn - After Nature of the Beast.
  • Quartermaster found in the Apprentice Quarters at the Circle of Magi.
  • Varathorn, a Dalish elf merchant in the Dalish Camp - After Nature of the Beast, depending the outcome of the quest.
  • Gorim, a dwarven merchant in the Denerim Market District - after completing a local quest.
Each backpack increases the size of your inventory by 10. Maximum size is 125 for the PC version and 120 for the console versions.

These Damn Golems i still cannot do after trying for ages. Is there anyway to delete my saves so i can avoid the dwarves area until later. I cannot leave the Anvil of void until i complete it which is painful and i see is the only way around this problem.

It is one of the tougher fights for sure...but there is a few tactics than " may" help....I tend to do the deep roads pretty early on to get them out of the way, so I usually have a lower level party)

If the golems are a major problem, I suggest focusing more on containing them...this being using things like cone of cold, or hexes..things to soften them up and slow them down. I dont know how your mage is built, or who else is in the group, but Morrigan should be good for crowed control,

Branka can be a pain, but if not mistaken the party will largely attack who you attack, so helping to thin out the golems alittle will give you more breathing room. hitting the lyrium deposits also puts branka at a loss, and keeps any mage charged with mana.

If need be move away from attacking, and fall more into a support role... by all means make attacks when you can, but focus on softening up the golems so the others have an easier time.

atleast that's how I tend to run it in that situation...it may not work too well with your group depending on how they are built, and who's in use.

Got to learn proper crowd control. With proper crowd control you CAN WIN THIS EASILY.

Cone of Cold

Forcefeild

Glyph of paralysis

various traps

Crushing Prison

Stun attacks/spells

Turn to stone (ok maybe golems are immune to this?)

Try using cone of cold followed by crushing prison on an enemy golem.

Don't really even need much crowd control for this fight, so long as you have someone with Regeneration and Heal.

I found having a 2h warrior with shattering blows mows through the Golems easily. They are also immune to Quake stuns due to Indomitable.

Golems are immune to turn to stone (pertify). Depending on your party makeup this fight can be easy to impossible. You can back out of the Anvil of the Void up until the point you meet Branka. There is no going back after meeting Branka. She even tells you the only way is foward. The only companion you have to have is Oghren.

I had Leliana and Shale in my party. I was a rogue. My character and Leliana had the Ranger Specialization. I equpped Oghren with a shortbow. My character and Leliana had longbows. Each of the rangers called a bear.

I had Oghren harass Branka. She chased him around. I had the other concentrate on one golem at a time. After the golems you can finish off Branka. Still can be a tough fight, but winnable.

Try using your mage to heal friendly golems. You can restore your mana from Lyrium veins. Also use your characters to help the friendly golems double team your opponents. Let Oghren fight Branka if you can't keep her out of the fight. His job is not to win, just to hold on until you gain an advantage. Once you've knocked out a couple of golems you'll find the friendly golems are a big help against Branka.
