You know an actually good one that can kill our hated enemies?

- Combat Drone's can't kill wet paper without self-destructing
- Quarian Sentry Turrets are supposedly meant for combat but fail miserably at it
- Geth Turrets are shield-restorers
- Salarian Decoys cannot really fight back
- Every other Engineer doesn't even have a Drone/Decoy/Turret (for better or worse)

Cerberus Engineers get the most brutal, enemy-shredding turret I've ever seen, nothing we've got even comes close. Maybe it's just me but I find turrets actually fun over spamming Incinerate... Bioware please!

TF2 managed to do it...

It would be fun to finally get a turret that can be used as the class' main damage source. Like a class that is entirely centered around building stuff, with powers like Shield Pylon, Cerberus Turret, Geth healing turret :D

I hope I will see a Turian Engineer. Just like Garrus, who is a combat engineer and a sharpshooter.
Drone and turrets are not so bad.
Imagine that new engineer will have Cerberus-like turret. It will deploy as slow as suplly pylon. I don't need such a turret. And I think everyone tried to use sabotage on Cerberus turrets. Enemies are too stupid to develope tactics against such permanent fire position.

New engineer needs such powers as:
- Shield Pylon or Supply Pylon - to support allies with additional shields and/or ammunition
- Stationary Machine Gun - for fire support. As with pylons, only one available at a time. Make it not so powerful as Cerberus turret.
- Engineer obstacle or Land mine cluster - slow down enemy's advance. Can be used in a manner similar to proximity mine (LMC) or artificial cover (EO).

The problem with making a class that has a turret as its main damage dealer is the AI.

combat drone just loves to fire rockets at walls, for example.

that said, I still think the human engineer is vastly underated and his turret can be damn useful. (if used for its abilty to distract/ stun, and not relied upon to inflict major damage).

And, last time i used the quarian the flamethrower made short work of the weaker enemies.

maybe the volus engi is like that, since they can't really fight directly
