Engineer Or vanguard I Can't Pick !? :(

 ok all the other classes don't really interest me but im stuch between these two im gonna be playing on its hardest diffaculty mind you so im stuck between 

Vanguard i've heared there just maga hard to use on its hardest diffaculty in the next few games which sounds alot of fun and then 

Engineer now i've heared this class can be very useful and tacticful which i like game gets boring if im just ending fights the sameway everytime

just to give you a heads up my last playthrough was an adept if that helps

is this for mass 2 ? and what console , but its all personal choice impo im a soldier class lots a guns and ive herd its easy to dominate the hardest difficulty setting , but again evryone plays different

well its a series right now im on ME1 but later on im gonna do ME2 and ME3 with that same character

cool ,xbox , im either biotic or soldier , infiltrater my fav 1s XD im well gel you got mass 1 i want it now i cant play mass 1 but ive seen it on xbox looks awsomeness!!! cant wait for it to cross to ps3

1 is so different from 2/3 that it's almost worth distinguishing between ME1 Engineer and ME2-> Engineer, and ditto Vanguards and so on. Engineers are pretty fragile at low levels, especially in ME1 if you tackle some of the tougher missions earlier. Later when they can spam tech grenades with fairly wide areas of effect they're pretty damn powerful and can allow you to have some interesting fun fights by setting tech grenades as traps for enemies. For instance, enter a bunker and the radar shows enemies ahead with a route either to the left or the right of a head high wall - maybe you choose to go left with guns and lay a bunch of tech grenades as mines to the right for anyone trying to flank you, or maybe you just launch tech and regular grenades right over the top of the obstacle to soften up the opposition and then charge in blazing. Higher level Engineers in ME2 are still fairly powerful even without the tech grenades because of the reduced cooldowns and the ability to deal with anything apart from biotic barriers. Take Reave or Warp Ammo as a bonus power and you can tackle them too, though just flinging an exploding combat drone at any awkward enemy almost guarantees that he'll turn around to deal with the drone and let you pop up and back shoot him until it blows up on him.

Vanguards I found to be a bit meh in ME1, seemed to be a mix of half the Soldier abilities and half the Adept's biotics. From ME2 when they get the biotic charge ability they become a lot more fun to play. Steeper learning curve involved in using the biotic charge wisely in fights as getting it wrong can mean being surrounded by enemies with no cover, no backup and all your abilities still on cooldown. But once I got the hang of it I found it very rewarding zooming from one side of the battlefield to batter some poor isolated mook and then follow up with a shottie to the face, then duck into cover for cooldown while looking for another mook on his own on somewhere else.

If I had to choose for one playthrough I'd be tempted to make use of the option to swap classes after Shepard dies and gets brought back. ME1 as an Engineer and then change to a Vanguard for ME2, although combat drones.... tough call.

One has to love the Engineer:
- combat drone
- overload
- area reave (very funky)
- pick shotgun/AR for bonus weapon and jump into the fray!

One has to love the Vanguard:
- incendiary ammo
- charge
- bonus... still area reave
- sniper for the guys you can't reach

Tough call indeed!
