Dragon Age characters should look more like Mass Effect characters.

Yeah I notice in Origins and DAII that while Dragon Age's characters look more like real humans, they're still kinda cartoony.

So use the realistic graphics of Mass Effect's characters, but with the level of customization available in Origins(DAII's creator was annoying and had less)

As if we already don't have Dragon Effect (DA2). Oh and I love cartoons, even though DA characters don't look like cartoons, so I don't really care.

I like there being clear visual distinctions between the franchises.

This.
I don't want them to look exchangeable.

Um, I think that's a bad idea. A lot of people seem to be asking for DA to have some sort of Mass Effect thing added to it..but the thing is, these are two different games and we should keep them that way.

DA, DA2 and all three ME games had pretty limited character creator options.
I know it's going to sound silly, but I want to be able to change the shape of my character's ears, not just their size and whether or not they sit forward or back or high/low on the head.
Touching on ME, I wanted to be able to do a face similar to Sheploo, but could get nowhere near it. At all. The single worst aspect was the options for ears, specifically shape and lobes.
Second worst, is the complection options. There's no real "in between" options among the choices.

Honestly though, I'd say that both the DA games and the ME games are about equal with their level of realism when it comes to faces, with ME3 being ahead (pun unintended) simply because it's the most recent release.

I don't like the ME look. The men look like they're all 50 years old or older. Even the women look like they've led a rough and bitter life lol

I much prefer the DA2 look. For DA:O, everyone looked fine except male humans and dwarves. Dwarves, okay, expected, but you should be able to make a nice-looking human male.

Unreal Engine 3 is better than what they used in Origins and DA2. I'm not sure if the same tech guys work on both games, but I would also say the Mass Effect team is better with tech.

I preferred the more realistic DAO looks as opposed to the generic, washed-out DA2 look. You could actually make your characters look distinct in DAO, and I missed that for the 2nd game.

While I agree with your sentiment, I'm not sure I like the idea of adopting the ME look. I thought it looked worse in ME3. Hair looked more plastic and skin textures were a bit more cartoonish.

Perhaps if they brought back more options to tweak the face, it would be a step in the right direction.

Bar the squadmates, I thought the vast majority of human characters were ugly as hell. Keep them seperate.

Different art styles, I think. Mass Effect aims for a more realistic look, while the DA series is currently relies more heavily on the fantasy bit. I like it, personally.

I thought the characters were rendered beautifully in DAII.

I also appreciated no ME spider eyelashes.

Same here. I actually like the DA art style(besides the elves and darkspawn...those need to change).

I prefer the DA2 art style over the more realistic look of other games. The Witcher 2 is a very good looking game, but I like the look of DA2 better(I just wish it had more details).

I hope they try to keep improving DA art style and not go for a more realistic look.

Dialogue wheels? Haha

It is surely better than the one in ME.  "The Neutral option" becomes something more appealing and powerful on its own

Dragon Age is a game set in a fantasy setting. People don't need to look super-realistic, just detailed. Dragon Age 2 had it's art style and Mass Effect has theirs. They're two different franchises.

I was a fan of the new dwarf design. The more I saw them (especially during Legacy), the more I wish they were playable.

My only problem with the DA2's art were the Elves. I always thought Elves were suppose to be very attractive and mystical, hence their lore in older RPGs, of higher Charisma. But DA2 made them look more Japanese Anime with the oversized ears, and merrills' bug eyes.

What we need are more characters covered in chitinous shells. Also they should have mandibles and backhumps.

There need to be face models to achieve the kind of realism in ME series which, from my earlier thread, majority of the people are against.
