I was wondering how many of you played support character like for example female quarian enginier that freezes enemies around for the team, making the match go easy, and then you get kicked for low exp points?

Happened today for me, when I rebuild my Quarian for a 100% support character...then rebuild it back because apparently most people don't know what it means "cooperation" and they see only "competition" who is at the top of the score board.

I don't always use the FQE with Cryo+Incinerate Evo 5 spec, but when I do, I top the scoreboard on Gold. Lol support character? Do damage, cap objectives, revive teammates, debuff enemies. Do them all. Don't be lazy and just "support".

She is not support....nor should she score low. Regardless, these threads are of no use to anyone. People kick for all kinds of reasons, and they don't have to be good ones.

I don't see people get kicked for pretty much anything except being afk except once every 90 seconds to bypass the idle kick.

Though the flaw that I see in most "support characters" is that generally there's a damage dealer that supports just as well(or better) and also brings a lot more damage. In the QFE's case, the Human Infiltrator also has the same debuff in Cryo Blast and brings awesome utility or damage from Tactical Cloak.

I still wouldn't kick someone for playing QFE as a support, though.

Seems to happen occasionally when I play my BSe. Not all that often though, usually don't play with randoms.

I meant I did all of the above, even revieved squadmates (even when they ignored each other) the only difference was with score board because I decidet to spam cryo around to help others slowing and debufing all enemies. While doing so you can't just shoot at the same time and because of slighty lesser score I was kicked.

There are no "support" characters when it comes to the scoreboard... any class can top the scoreboard played well - I topped the scoreboard with a Human Engineer on Reactor / Reapers / Gold earlier this evening. I knew a guy who could outscore anyone if he was using an N7 Paladin on any difficulty level (including Platinum).

Incidentally the QFE, with a scorpion maybe, is one of the best anti-Reaper classes going... especially now that Incinerate has been fixed. She just destroys armour.

I would rather kick an infiltrator (not that I hate them, just an exmaple of some bellend I played with recently, and actually he was a SE using a Valiant) who tops the leaderboards and solos a few matches but never leaves a camping spot, uses missiles, doesn't rez or generally be a team player or try to draw aggro.

I will always keep a team player in the lobby even if medals/points suck. If I see you're trying, sticking together as a team, drawing some aggro, using medi's, ops, missiles and honestly not being terrible (and even then only on gold or above) then you will not get the kick vote from me.

Some people in PUG's are just bellends sometimes.

I get the rest of it, but why would an Infiltrator try to draw aggro?

Really unless it's something like "Stand in front of the Brute so he doesn't stagger the guy disarming the 4 control points" then the Infiltrator should let the Vanguards, Paladins, and Krogan play tank since those characters are suited to being able to survive having aggro.

It's why I've slowly stopped playing Salarian Engineer- always bottom of the scoreboard but it doesn't matter, because I know I'm contributing. I still get kicked fairly often afterwards. I like to think they regret that the second my decoy aint there to tie up a gaggle of primes.

There was this game I had with these guys with high N7 rankings, and their buddy ruined the spawn and they immediately blamed it on me, and they kept talking up how he had 44,000 points, and I had 40,000, and I was backing up the guy like the whole match like with my shotgun, reviving, and et cetera. They immediately kicked me afterwards. Hilarity.

Try it with a Viper + Disruptor Ammo...

Incinerate > shoot > shoot > shoot > incinerate > shoot > shoot > shoot > incinerate > reload

That's a whole tonne of Tech Bursts right there; there is no real reason why you can't top the scoreboard with an SE.

I don't think I've kicked anyone for having a bad score.

Sure if the game was really crappy I've left but...

Earlier today I had 2 "new" guys with me on silver (I'm far from the best player) and another experienced player. Us 2 experienced guys had around 60-90000 points and the new people had 20-40000.

Was rather good games all in all.

Other games the people are so efficient I have jackall to do than cover them.

Lol at people who blame "support" for a low score.
If you actually play and are a reliable teammate you get a good score regardless of class.
Spamming powers behind cover is not support, its a ****ty player that will score nothing and most likely be kicked after the game.

When I play QE, I usually top the scoreboard regardless.

The "support character" argument is a bad one. There is no dedicated "support character" in this game. If you come up last by a substantial amount, it probably has more to do with you than the character.

"Playing support" is simply a terrible excuse for playing bad, nothing else.

Unfortunately people are often idiots. I'd never kick anybody from my Gold lobby, unless they are being intentionally useless, a.k.a. leeching, standing by my corpse and not reviving anyone...etc I don't even mind if somebody goes rambo as long as he doesn't get him/herself instakilled in every wave. I'm mainly a Vanguard player, so my playstyle doesn't exactly rely on camping either. More like relying on characters like you, to soften the big guys for me, while I'm taking care of business chargin' into the crowd and throwing lift 'nades everywhere :P

I respeced my geth engy into full Healz turret and pulled some points from weapon passive for a bit more fitness....

Then I whipped out my wraith 7 and still rolled up 75 kill medals

Point being I wish there were pure support roles in the game but currently with the number of powerful guns of all weights and types, and the fact that the skill point system will always enable 3 talent trees maxed out means each character can still mow down enemies if played well.

People that say that "Playing support" is excuse for playing bad really need more experience about playing cooperation games with RPG elements. I will give you a hint:

You have 4 kinds of characters in every MMORPG: Tank, Damager, Buffer, Debuffer.

QFE can't be Tank and Buffer because she doesn't have shields and skills.

She can however be either strong debuffer or damager, depending on build. Don't create both, because you either weaken enemies or do heavy damage.

My point in this topic it, that you just CAN'T creeate a very strong debuffer and thus making the match VERY easy for all of those vanguards and soldiers, because some idiot players will kick you after match because of low score.

Usuallty the best team is when you have all four kinds of people, and it's going easy even on platinum. Yesterday I had a match (4 kroguards vs reapers on platinum) we got kicked around, because the enemies were to strong and you just can't charge at those with instant kill. If we had a strong debuffer it would be very easy.
