So i found out today how they fixed the vanguard glitch. its a silent nerf. WTF?

Something is different on platinum. It is basically impossible to get up at times and fire a rocket if you died with a bunch of enemies around you. Also the deaths seem really delayed at times. Like I would round a corner trying to avoid enemy fire, clear their line of site, but then die gently.

What I've noticed bugs me the most is that I'm sometimes not able to activate Biotic Charge at all.

I also noticed that the OHK animations are much longer now. the banshee will hold you and stab you for a few seconds. Also if you die while getting OHK the timer starts even though you can't be revived becuase she is still holding you.

There is something odd indeed. Tried to solo a giant/reaper/gold today and the marauders were killing me easily, well more easily than normal. Perhaps the previous healthgate had some sort of latence? Because it still exists, but when you are receveing automatic fire you die a lot faster.

If it's true, suddenly Gold became harder and Platinum became easier.

Note: The LZ in Hydra has been buggy forever (you can't charge enemies on it among other issues). That's been confirmed by BW to be an bug with that map.

There is another issue where you "can't charge" an enemy in general, but that's a general lag/pathfinding issue that's been since release and not related to anything in the patch.

That being said, I have definitely noticed strange things with healthgate since the patch. I've played gold and offhost exclusively, and (in non-laggy) games I've sometimes just dropped dead from full health when shields are down. Sometimes I'll also instantly resurrect after such a death. Very strange.

Not sure if this will help your discovery, but I was playing on FB Condor against Cerby on Gold with some friends, and a nemesis glitched out to be invulnerable (Friendly tip: When you have an invulnerable enemy, have someone die. It will make the enemy be able to receive damage again) so I said, "Ok this is going to take a while, I'm going to have to let this nemesis kill me then you finish her off" so I just sat there waiting for her to pop out of cover, shoot me to my healthgate, then just quickscope me to make me bleed out. But no, my healthgate was there for all over 9000 shots she fired. So as far as I know, the healthgate works fine on Gold.

I mentioned just the other day how the health gate seems to come and go since the patch, glad to see I'm not going (even more) crazy, and whatever it is I really hope they fix it.

The healthgate still exists, since it's happened to me multiple times. There used to be a small moment of invulnerability when you hit shieldgate, and again when you hit healthgate, and I'm pretty sure that's either gone or much shorter. Whenever I see healthgate, it's distinctly not from burst-fire enemies like turrets, low-level troops, marauders, centurions, pyros, etc.. It's disconcerting.

I was going a gold match sat. and me and two others were ALL one-shot'd by the same geth rocket. all of us were at full shields, and the next second we were bleeding out

I've been experiencing big delays attempting to charge both on and off host since the patch, but charge has always been wonky. I've also been dying suddenly quite often, but then I've been running squishy classes without equipment more often too :P My asari vanguard has enjoyed discovering just how quickly it's possible to die after charging with only 700 shields.

Yup you have to be really lucky and live long enough for your death to cancel the "pulls out rocket launcher" animation. Then you have to be lucky to not be stunned to death before you can actually fire that thing.

But I had the same issues with the healthgate as well, shortly after the patch came out. It got better though, maybe I got a little used to it.

Some friends of mine actually reported dying before even hitting healthgate and stuff, so I really do believe that something was changed with the health gate.

For interest's sake I took some video of my last game as an asari vanguard without shield boosting equips and had a look aftewards: I was definitely getting healthgated, but I was also having a lot of very fast deaths (I'm not a very good asari vanguard) before I could react - usually when there were a couple of phantoms shooting space magic at the same time, or an atlas rocket in conjunction with another atlas doing its sniper trick. It always took 3 shots to kill me but they could happen nearly instantaneously.

Yeah it seems to be a problem realted with a "latence" the old healthgate had, that's why with one shot enemies it works fine, but other with auto-fire (like troopers and Marauders) it doesn't seem to work properly.

IDK for sure. I think before you had a very, very short period of invincibility once you hit health gate before you could die. Now it is instantaneous. You could probably save a couple of nemesis to test it though.

A few hours ago i run up to a downed buddy to revive and i DO know i started to revive him when ... i was downed too. Watching the "dead" camera for a moment when suddenly i started to revive the teammate again and we were both alive. I was the host...

Im not sure what was done, but this thread at least lets me not feel crazy. I thought i had noticed it being different.

A previous poster aired this theory, and this is what I also think has happened.

Health gate still exists. I.E. If you have 500 health and eat a rocket for 2000 you wont go down.

However, it appears that you no longer have a window of being invulnerable when you hit health gate. So if you have 500 health, eat a rocket for 2000 AND a stray bullet for 10, you go down immediately. It was rough at first but Im starting to get used to it.

Nothing I said is tested, but from the 30 or 40 games I played this weekend, this is what seemed to be happening.

There is still a health gate, been shot by nemesis plenty time since patch without shields and survived with a sliver of the last bar. You can test this out yourself with a group of friends, (or solo) just leave the usuall 3 nemesis alive until nothing is spawning anymore, and stand out in the open and let them open fire.

So I'm not going crazy. It seems to be working fine with my Krogard on silver, but when I tried a Demolisher on bronze I don't think the health gate was working at all. I was constantly getting killed by a single rocket or hit from the prime's cannon. Now it makes sense. Sort of...

Also, did the extended deathcam make it easier to save someone from banshee grabs? I swear that twice in one game someone rocketed a banshee after I would normally be dead, and saved me.

Yeah, it's most likely isolated to platinum because I was playing gold relentlessly this weekend and healthgate and shield gate were working fine.

Haven't tried platinum lately (and will never do it for farming) but somehow there are significant delays when I play off-host after the patch. That delay wasn't significant in most games before patch. Lot's of Vorcha keep dying recently...

YES, I had this issue yesterday and was wondering what was up with that - I had my sliver of health and it just disappeared despite taking no further damage - the kill feed said I committed suicide (I'm not sure how I did that). This was with a Fury, but I'm not sure that matters.

There's definitely something different with healthgate on both gold and plat, and particularly something strange involving platinum revives. Or maybe it was just the geth. Take a look:

...My team started camping my body for revive medals after the third time. I. LITERALLY. Could. Not. Control. Anything. Downed revived downed revived downed revived. From the first time I went down I lost all character control until the damn wave was over.


That happened on patch day.

As for healthgate on gold, a lot of my deaths have been totally inexplicable. Pretty sure it's gone, since I've been OSKO's by a Nemesis after my shields were downed.

I've noticed healthgate being gone as well. It's a shame. They should give us three more survival packs per match to compensate.

I think the new problem of the Vanguard is the old problem: Lag.

For example, PD on a bad connection is the most annoying thing to use. However, if i host, it's like in teh old days.
