I don't know if maybe it's because of the weekend challenge or the new DLC, but I swear the recent random matches, I've found some great players. I have only failed two matches today. It's usually like 4 or 5 a day on Silver. I'm no great player, but I have to say today was probably some of the most successful matches I've ever played.
Don't know what system you're on (PC for me), but I've noticed the same thing, at least with gold. However, silver seems to be populated with people that should still probably be on bronze (at least the past three or four silvers I've been in).
It was a pleasant surprise with gold however, since I'm normally a silver player. Great teamwork, and no one was using microphones. To top it off, at the end of the matches, I was either at the top of the leaderboard or second, and I really don't consider myself all that great. But maybe I'm a bit better than I thought initially

This. The game is somewhat easier than before and a lot of the players that still play are those that have been playing since launch.KentGoldings wrote...
Maybe a lot of casual players have moved on. I've noticed that the matches are going faster. I credit new weapons, classes and mods. The Grenade Capacity IV upgrade has turned my Asari Vanguard into the Bronze Goddess.
But I'm fairly certain most of the casual players will be back on Tuesday and all the "I hate PUG" threads will flood the forum lol.

Is your BSN name the same as your PSN name? I'm like always on. Always up for familiar players. I hardly ever leaves rooms unless I'm hungry.Waffelmeister wrote...
Hey, a PS3 player! Add me? Playing with at least one familiar player will help your odds a lot, I rarely lose on silver. On gold, well it can get pretty nasty. Can't carry those yet, with how my manifest looks.

Once in the while everyone is in a game and we need a 4th, happened a couple of times this weekend and the players we got were excellent, we did have to ask one to leave the lobby as they just didn't have the gear to run gold.

Yes, it's easier for players to kill things with the addition of "power" kits and new gears. But that just goes to highlight really poor tactical play. For example, a close-combat class camping on the big pad in front of Array Control on Dagger is just capping the big spawn points there and forcing the system to spawn and flank the snipers in Array Control. This just undercuts the whole team because some idiot wants to get stuck in quickly -- which he inevitably doesn't, since the spawn won't happen there! And I see at least 2 to 3 instances of this over the weekend (which accounts for almost all the games I had on Dagger).
I'm also seeing a number of players with no weapon mods, no gear, low weapons.. that's expected in Bronze, but the numbers I run into is a bit surprising considering the age of this game.

Yup! Same name. Be careful to watch the el, tripped up a person or two.
I'm normally on late at night (EST) on weekends because I share a TV. Will definitely be playing most of this week though.

It depends. Consumables generally makes the game go faster in lower difficulties, which is important enough if your objective is to ensure a quick run.Jiovanie- wrote...
Well are consumables really necessary on Silver? On Gold I could understand, but not on Silver. I might have just been lucky today. It was string and string of good teammates.
I had a few games on Bronze where trigger-happy teammates just yank out the Cobra at the first sign of the big boys. Frankly, with Cobras flying Bronze is a bit boring, part of the trill is to kill the Atlas/ Brute/ Banshee without using a Cobra. And I certainly hope that "idiot" fighting upstairs in White while the three of us hacking down below would use his Medigel... no reason for me to go up there when my objective is down here and getting hacked. I do appreciate his effort, but not that much to go up there while I can help the team complete the hack faster.
Ammo and armour expendables in low levels raise weapons and power damage to the point where you can rapidly get rounds over and done with. Again, if your objective is to cramp as many games into a fixed time period, then it makes sense to equip.

I'm sort of in the same boat, minus worthless teams. But I am getting progressively better myself.
