I will have to test this! Once I finish my essay and finish my classes for today!

Time to see if the gold peeps are better, or if I have to make sacrifices to get a good enough team extract, at the very least...

And you fail silver that much with randoms?? Wow, that is EXTREMELY unlucky... I only fail when people keep leaving... Maybe the deity of luck is looming over your shoulders? They left me two months ago! And now, I can barely survive gold... Silver is no longer a cake walk, either...

Players getting better? Not on PC. Half the games I join from u/u/g are glacier and bads just camp in the room the entire game or FBWGG. 90% of them don't even realize the 5 and 6 keys even exist on their keyboards. I wish they would get better so I didn't have to carry every single game.

QFT.

All I run into in pugs are people who either try to leech, or don't seem to know that you have to hit buttons to kill things.

I was in a Glacier/Cerby/Gold game earlier. Vorcha Sentinel, a Demolisher, and 2 Destroyers, one of which was me. Seems like a pretty solid setup to me if we're gonna blow through it and speedfarm... I think the Demolisher cracked 10,000 points. The other Destroyer had around 30k. I had almost 4 times what the other Destroyer had. Yeah, I know, points aren't everything. But when you see numbers like that it really makes you wonder why these people think Gold is a good idea, aside from having people like me carry them all the time.

In regards to FBW, I pretty much counter it by using Kroguard every time I go to join a game (in case it tosses me into the middle of a FBW game in progress). That way I'm ensured to be able to roam about freely and not camp if I'm not in a relaxed "camping" mood or w/e. I'm not good enough to solo with anything aside from the Kroguard yet, so I play it safe for now. Playing meat shield when you get thrown into U/U/G is fun too, so either way it's a win-win(at least to me it is).

But as far as overall players? Before the patch, I was always joining PuG gold games where the players were either doing better than me or I was keeping up rather nicely. But since after the patch, it seems I am struggling a lot more with my teams. I'm not sure if it's a fault on my end or theirs or a mix. I'm going to assume it's just faulty teamwork from all angles, as that is most likely. So I'd say in my current experience of just the past couple of days, I've seen a decline in overall skill of the PuGs I play with, minus the few good players that I come across that are really good.

So maybe it's more of a 50/50 mix of bad and good currently? I don't really know, but it seems that way atm.

I dunno. I'm on PC, so my experience is probably different from the OP's...but the OP was talking Silver, and I generally find Silver to be the sweet spot. You get players who always stick on Silver, mostly-Bronze folks who are up for a challenge on their better (usually 20) classes, and gold-grade players who are taking it easy. I can play Gold, I can hold my own in Gold, but I honestly play Silver more often. Wasn't there some official data showing that Silver was the most-played difficulty?

With all that said, I do agree teams on the weekend were better than usual. But then people were after the operation goal, as folks have pointed out, and I think a lot of people either came back or were playing more frequently due to the major patch.

On the Xbox at least there has been some improvement. In general gold matches are pretty rough, with silver having it's own fair number of wipes. Now the past weekend silver seemed more or less like bronze for difficulty. I don't usually bother with gold because I can't carry a match and I usually don't find anyone else who can either.

There seem to be a lot of high level N7s in Silver recently. Over the last 2 weeks, I've encountered a number of 2000 and 3000+ players there.

It's been hit or miss with me. I was though FINALLY able to get a good enough team together that:

1. Didn't want to play Firebase White.

2. Helped me out in getting the achievement for Golding the original levels (I STILL hadn't gotten this one because I could never find a good team).

3. Was able to hold their own, and we barely used consumables.

At last on PC, sometimes you get a good team and sometimes you just cant get to wave 7 on gold, but i agree that form the start when people barely went through bronze, the average player can at last go easy on silver, but still gold looks like a challenge to a lot of players.

No. People hoarding credits and it seems JEP's are collecting dust in the store. People aren't gelling on late waves or pulling the trigger on missile launchers. First time ever I've tripled peoples scores and ran up 160k in lobbies. I'm a serious team player but I'm at the point where no one is getting a revive from me.

Yep. Exact same thing here. People are afraid to use their consumables and would rather lose all those credits (Which those credits that they wouldn't have earned to begin with would have bought a JEP). I usually end up scoring around 150k+ with the next person around 70k. It's just stupid.

It could be because of the operation. All the otherwise Gold-based players are playing in silver to be able to work towards the community goal more. That's one possibility.

On gold and plat you have people who have played maybe about 5 matches on bronze thinking they are ready for to the big time. They think this carrying their avenger and predator with no mods and gear and lv 10 characters with only half a build.

There shall exist bad player no matter the game, no matter the console. Just look at xbox.

Wish I were getting these pugs you're getting. Just half an hour ago I was playing a silver reaper game on ghost and here are the scores (yes I wrote them down):

114844
63179
44862
29907

Yeah, guess which one was me. I was freaking MQI, too. I should NOT be topping the scoreboards! I can carry silver fine. Sometimes I even do it on purpose, but every single freaking game today, I swear... Sure I can carry silver. But if I want that much difficulty, I'd usually rather play gold.

MQI is easily one of the best classes in the game.

It still seems the same to me. From time to time I see players that make me say "Wow, I hope he stays in my lobby." but usually it's just average guys: None too awful, none too great. But then again, my definition of a good/bad player is probably different from most.

I don't know if maybe it's because of the weekend challenge or the new DLC, but I swear the recent random matches, I've found some great players. I have only failed two matches today. It's usually like 4 or 5 a day on Silver. I'm no great player, but I have to say today was probably some of the most successful matches I've ever played.

Most platinum players dropped difficulties to speedrun.

Prepare to be abandoned shortly.

Great class, but all I'm doing is shooting things with a Mattock and occasionally throwing out a grenade (I have a bad habit of forgetting they exist). My cloak is duration specced, and I mostly use it to go and find the banshee, tag her, and run the other way (I keep on waiting for randoms to realize that I do that so we can avoid her, not kill her and force 2 others to spawn). That should not be getting me 2-3x the score of a Fury or Destroyer.

I've actually been running into folks that seem entirely new to the game, but I'm one of those crazy sorts that enjoys watching people improve their gameplay through frequent play and helping them out with suggestions and what wisdom I can along the way such as, "You deliver pizzas significantly faster walking backwards or sideways depending on the character model" or "For the love of the Amonkira don't use rockets on a half dead Atlas on wave 5 of Bronze."

Can't honestly say I have seen much improvement. I may have run across a couple more players that were better than usual, but a fair amount of players have come back to get some credits for the DLC. Not that it bothers me any since I haven't had a gold wipe in a while, but as long as I don't get synch-killed it is never a concern for me.

Yup, I had another successful group of players tonight. I mean they were like not even 1 second away when I dropped. I had absolutely no medi-gels tonight, and I won't til Tuesday. I notice my gameplay gets far better when I have no room for stupid risks.
