All of the Krogan kits had either a melee enhancing armor, or a power which buffs melee (such as Charge for melee synergy). The Barrier armor didn't count for the latter kit because it didn't increase melee damage at all.

I think the Krogan Shaman will have an armor which allows (heavy) melee to detonate primed targets. It's biotic damage will outdo Shockwave or Smash's detonation damage...or perhaps the melee will prime targets but doesn't the N7 Fury have a similar, non-melee buffing power?
