They're trying to destroy the world. That's bad news for everybody, no matter how evil you are.

This, I think - it'd be like trying to talk zombies into an alliance. All there interested in is the brains.Nikblade wrote...
I'm not even sure the darkspawn would be willing to pause to talk to you, much less let you join them.<br />

For the darkspawn, its wiping out the world and all creatures - all the creations of 'the Maker' - including your ass, regardless to if you want to destroy the world too or not. I don't think they have any other desire, really.

The Calling goes more in-depth about the Darkspawn, if you're interested in the lore I would recommend that you read it. =)Nikblade wrote...

I've looked into it. Unfortunately my gut tells me it's not a very well-written book. Having not read any actual reviews or snippets of the book itself this might be completely inaccurate. But feel free to convince me otherwise.

Edit: The quote issues are really getting under my skin. It makes the posts look so ugly.

I'm not a huge avid reader of fantasy, as I normally read only Forgotten Realm novels and a few of the Wheel of Time novels. Stating that, I had a lot of fun reading TST/The Calling, but I guess I could be easy to please. ;p

I highly suggest you read The Calling. It suggests there is a possibility for something different, though.
EDIT: The Calling isn't the best written book in the world, but it's still good, it's miles ahead of The Stolen Throne, full of lore, and made me cry. Twice.

I havn't read The Calling, just The Stolen Throne, but like most video game based books, it's very clearly a adaptation. For one thing, the basing a dialogue is all a little... wierd. It's very dificult to point to one thing, but kinda like the mass effect novels, there wa something about them that seemed kinda... off, the whole time. They were quite fun though.

they dont think your a big enough threat
they think they can take care of you
even if you stop the blight
they outnumber you
and will continue on
besides lets say darkspawn win/what do they do after they kill everything?

Same goes for the kingdom we're defending. From the sound of things the Blight is the only thing that's keeping them busy along with the Fade. The Qunari certainly brought some trouble but that's over and done withArttis wrote...
