Honestly, sometimes it's the high levels that are the worst, since they pick awful combos out of shear boredom.

I can attest to this even though am only N7 1140.
Let's just say that a Black widow 3 on a Batarian Sentinel, with only shockwave at ranged 16, was not my brightest ideas ever.

Lol, ... can't be any worse an idea than to use a respec card to change the built, only to end up making the same built again because you thought you ran with another Image IPB

A good build is worth respeccing for again. Even if you're using it already. :D

You know, when I first saw this title was like "Pizza the **** off?" huh?

I agree with pretty much everything that has been said so far though, it's incredibly frustrating when they make no attempts to play as part of the team... might as well go solo then.

Oh god, THIS. It drives me nuts.  I always yell at that point - usually because I've already politely explained that the more people we have on the escort/hack, the faster it gets done and the more money we get, but to no avail. Too selfish to help with the objective, just points-wh*ring and trying to boost your score? Good luck gettting revived.

The other night, me on my own in the hack circle, wave 10, gold.
Me: "We need everyone on the hack, guys"
Them: ...
Me: "Seriously, I'm getting overrun, this timer's taking forever to go down. Need some help here guys."
Them: ...
Me, stepping out of the circle: "Oh well, looks like nobody wants to finish the match then"
One of the Three Rambos: "Hey, is nobody hacking?"
Me: "You're using your mic now? Cool. Well, you lot were just off killing stuff so I figured I would too. Looks like we'll fail the match."

Which we did. None of them came to help, so I got myself shot and bled out, then watched possibly the worst GI in history completely fail to kill a Phantom, who skewered him, an Asari Adept with a Widow getting downed hipfiring (and missing) at a Nemesis, and a Vorcha with a Typhoon firing in short bursts at a Guardian and getting clubbed to death by two Centurions who had sneaked up behind him. Neither of the non-skewered guys gelled until the last second, just as the timer ran out.

I'd had my suspicions in the lobby, looking at their weird loadouts, but their N7s were all over 700 so I figured they must know what they're doing. If it works for them, kind of thing. Apparently not.

Grrrrr.

Exactly.

Just finished a PUG gold game. One guy, can't remember his name so I shall henceforth refer to him as Moron1, screws off on wave 1, messes up the spawn points, kills one enemy, dies on the far end of the map. Is not revived. Wave 2, same thing. I politely tell him not to run off, this isn't bronze and we're not going to get killed reviving him. Wave 3, escort. Me and PUG2 do the delivery, while Moron1 runs head first into an Atlas. I tell him to help out instead of going all Kamikaze all the time. He dies. PUG3, who up til this point has been camping out, sniper killing one enemy every hour or so, dies. Me and PUG2 finish the delivery and the wave.

By this point I have about five times the score of the others combined, leading me to think that despite their N7 rankings being higher than mine (even though that does not account for anything, I know), they're not used to gold. PUG2 draws the same conclusion and decides to play with me as a team. So does PUG3. Moron1 does not. Wave 4, he tries to be Rambo again. I tell him that we will not be reviving him. Wave 5, Moron1 does the same bloody thing yet once more and once he bleeds out, quits. I say aloud, without thinking, something along the lines of "what a fruitcaking less than average intelligent man". PUG3, who apparently all along had a mic, says he agrees. Wave 6, a hack, and PUG2 and 3 run off trying to be Rambo, both getting killed within seconds, leaving me to finish it alone.

After we finished the game, which consisted of me soloing waves 6-10 after they bled out within minutes each time, I told them to have a nice day and left, thus saving me so much swearing my mic would have melted.

The weekend was particularly frustrating playing in public games with a bunch of morons whose antics cause objective waves to go extremely slow.

God, this is annoying.

Last week I was playing N7 Shadow vs Cerberus/ White/ Gold. Easy, right? Well... not really. The other 3 guys were dropping like flies from wave 3 onward. Also, I had to play combat medic a lot, because no one else cared much for saving a downed team mate.

Somehow we got to wave 10, a disarm device objective. I started hunting Phantoms so that the other Infiltrator could cap the objectives. Then I noticed no one was doing them. Cursing a bit, I did the first three objectives while not only no one covered my back, but 2 players managed to get executed by those Phantoms I wasn't killing anymore.

The third guy then spends his rockets clearing the are next to him only to make a metric crapton of Atlases and Phantoms spawn on top of the last objective -- and on top of me.

I can agree with 2 people drawing enemies away from a pizza carrier and 1 person escorting them. But you actually have to have people who know what they're doing for that. I've been in matches where everyone wants to go with the pizza carrier. Sure, that's 3 people protecting them, but that's also all enemies coming towards that one direction. As well as the other objective possibly being on the other side of the map away from everyone.

That said, for hacks and stuff, I don't see why they don't help on Gold. Even if they need the exp, the credits are still better than milking the exp. Especially in a PUG.

Sometimes I have trouble seeing the objectives when I'm on a Geth using Hunter Mode, but I still make my way to them as fast as I can. There's really no sense in some of the people with 200+ N7 rating to not do objectives. I know N7 rating means nothing, but having that much means they should at least know what to do by now. A newer player I can understand, but my friend rarely plays and he knows how to do the damn objectives. He's played only 20 or so matches.

Anyways, I don't run into this problem too much. Most of the time when I do it's just because someone is trying to outscore everyone else. I had a Geth Infiltrator in game once and he was using a harrier (8 i believe) and stayed up top on FBW (we weren't camping) while the rest escorted. But he was doing it to keep the enemies off of us, not trying to score ****. Those cases are understandable. When people run off and start dying during objectives, you know they just want score. I'll run straight to the Leeroy's when the objective is done though. They might not be smart, but they are helpful at times.

On gold ppl usually try, on silver there are increasing number of players who don't help with hacks/drones

Silver is by far the worst for people entirely ignoring the objectives and I still really prefer playing in silver, but teamwork just goes out the window.

I also didn't know what PTFO stood for...Pimp the F*ck Out? Well, now I know.

Sadly I have been a culprit on occasion. Just the other day I could have sworn we were doing object recovery, so I ran to the LZ and cleared like 3 phantoms and 3 nemesisesesies waiting for the guy to deliver the objective. Then I look up and see the progress meter on escort, which was going in the opposite direction. I felt like an idiot, and keep telling myself that I helped in my own little way by distracting those 6 babes. (Sorry, team.)  :innocent:

Was it really necessary to shorten it as PTFO?
I had no idea what you were talking about until I read some comments.

Some characters are not supposed to pick-up pizza in the first place, eg. Turian

THIS drives me nuts. When there's a Drell or a Fury as part of the team, let them take it. Just provide distraction away from the drop zone and let them gol.

Drell, Fury, Geth, Shadow and Slayer are all good characters to do delivery.

Second class choice is Salarian, Paladin, Human engineer, QMI, even demolisher those who have good mobility and  can stagger enemy for a short while.

But if you are Turian soldier, just forget about it...Pizza is not your type. Don't try to touch it unless your teamate can't handle this.

Same Theory, never try to get closed any devices if there is an infiltator in the game...You will only make game much difficult...

Why can't Turians take it?  Also I think the worse class to take it by far is Destroyer with Devastator mode on.

But at the same time, sometimes the fastest members of the time are off faffing about and not remotely caring about the pizza.
At which point I move my slow ass Destroyer over and pick it up. I'd just rather not waste time hoping that they are gonna get it and just do it myself.

As of late I play medical droid (Geth engineer). I usually heal\\support those who do play the objectives and let those who want to rambo use their medigels\\ops packs.

But totally agree with OP.. when there is an objective even with the most squishy class I may have I always try to do it first and stomp mobs later.

This has happened a lot to me on Silver.
Yesterday I found myself doing the hack objective by myself while the rest of team was out trying to get kills.

Had a N7 3000+ teammate this weekend avoiding the objectives like a virgin mormon avoiding a brothel.

Didn't revive himself, didn't care about playing as a team. Naturally we left him on his own to die. Even in extraction, he didn't revive himself and missed out on credits.

And if he didn't have medi gel, then he really was that clueless.

Berated him on the mic in all the later rounds, left the lobby before we could kick him.

Its all because they want to keep killing stuff. That's why my batarian will guarantee delivery of your pizza. It might not be hot by the time you get it but it will get there. Forget about hacking or disabling stuff. Those really bring out the camper in most players.

Even worse... watching everyone try to do the objective and fail miserably.

Gold Cerberus on Hydra, wave 6. It was a 4 objective mission and I got sync killed after doing the first objective. The 2nd objective was in the open courtyard. All three of my teammates get stuck in the room overlooking the courtyard, futilely trying to advance down the ramp toward the objective, but get stopped by the turrets in place.

At about a minute left, one guy finally retreats out back and flanks, somehow getting all the way to the hack. He dies a few seconds in. He gives up and doesn't gel. The other two finally get the idea and tries to do the same. Another dies and doesn't get up. The last guy goes down...but he gets up! But sadly, with only 40 seconds left. He runs around and gets downed. And he gets up again.

Not one missile was used.
