I don't want another crazy chantry nut who is a bland waffle and is impossible to get in a relationship with (Which isn't rewarding if you succeed anyways)

As someone who dislikes Sebastian more than Fenris...

I want to see Sebastian.

I want to see him drunk and disheveled in some tavern, his accent thick because of the booze, and his andraste belt buckle hanging loose.

I support this only in that he was a day one dlc that was obviously ripped from the main game as opposed to being an ancillary companion (like Zaeed from ME2). I'm hatin on this gaming trend, not the character. I actually thought he looked pretty badass, even though I preferred Varric with Bianca.

I loved Sebastian. It was nice to see a genuinely decent guy that was also very religious. But these threads are just getting ridiculous.

Sebastian was probably the most sane and balanced of Hawke's companions.

Maybe he just needs some syrup.

People have a serious bias against organized religion here. The fact that he is the kindest, most compassionate, noble-hearted companion is irrelevant if he is also faithful. Leliana gets a very similar reaction.

I liked Seb until he made me kill anders. I was going to do it anyway, but there was no option to tell him to "kill him your-bleepin self".

Also that he threatened to murder all of kirkwall if I didn't

And cream. Isabela's suggestion.

I liked Sebastian. He had plenty of faults, but all of the companions did, and he was more handicapped by the fact that he was a DLC character. We're lucky that he wasn't even less interactive, honestly.

I really would like to see what happens to Sebastian after DA2.

I rather liked Sebastian until he responded to my third statement thatse needed to return to Starkhaven. And face his responsibilities with a "proposal" that we both marry Andraste and live in chaste harmony with the Grand Cleric. After Anders did his thing that run I wanted to say, "See! We'd have been in there if I'd listened to you!"

My problem with him wasn't that he was religious but that he didn't grow a spine until the last moment. Had he been that decisive ot forceful the whole game I'd have loved him.

Seeing someone they care about murdered by a terrorist tends to have a strong effect on people. Honestly, He's the companion I'd most like to see in Inquisition. He has a ton of room for development.

I wonder if Sebastian will finally find out that my apostate Hawke was an illegal mage. He contemplated turning in Anders and Merrill, but he always seemed to be unaware that Hawke was a mage living outside the Circle. You'd imagine that a pro-Chantry character would have a serious discussion with Hawke about that.

Also, I imagine we might see him again if our protagonist ventures into Starkhaven, perhaps to support him or the ones behind the coup that overthrew his immediate family. It'd be interesting to see how he reacts to a mage protagonist if apostate Hawke spared Anders; maybe he might ask the protagonist for help in dealing with Anders, or reclaiming his throne. Perhaps Fenris took him up on his offer to go to Starkhaven with him as well.

Sigh... still waiting for the 'Let me romance my mabari!' troll thread...
But, if you're serious and just don't want day 1 dlc characters like him that look as if they were just cut from the final game at last second, then I do agree. Sebastian's story was pretty okay, but I really wanted by Hawke to marry him and run off to Starkhaven together instead of dealing with the Mage/Templar thing.

The moment I came to loathe Sebastian was when he told Fenris it was the Maker's will that the little boy got sacrificed.

Maker's Will is synonymous with God's will to me so I stopped recruiting him

That's kind of a tall order. Which part bothers you most, specifically?

1. That he's religious and talks about it?

2. That you find him bland?

3. That he's basically unromanceable?

4. You hate waffles?  Posted Image

And I wonder if you hated him so much why the romance situation was an issue for you anyway. Your mileage is just obviously not the same as many others'.

In fairness both Sebastian and Leliana had pasts that were far from virtuous. It's easily forgotten Leliana was an assassin who seduced and murdered people at the whim of her master. Personally I don't like people who turn to faith after they've "lived it up" and then presume to preach morality to others. However despite this I did still like both characters, even though I feel the Chantry doesn't deserve their faith.

My demands and expectations:
Well thought through and interesting characters, plenty of time to get to know them through dialog, unique input by from the if brought along on a quest and finally (more of an idea and deep wish) a scenario in some part of the plot where a character sacrifices him/her self to save the others. (Thinking if Ash/Kaiden in ME1 but more like Grunts "suicide run" in ME3. Would be epic!)

I hope there won't be, or at least that you can avoid recruiting them without ignoring a quest (stupid completionist tendencies). I have a feeling Sebastian will be back though <_<

I only used Sebastian for his companion quests, I was too annoyed at his party banter to bring him along after that.

To be completely honest, Anders just blew up his beloved parental-figure right in front of him, the Grand Cleric was the only one that he considered his family left. It's like having your entire family slaughtered before your eyes, then the police just lets the murderer go in front of you. I doubt anyone would be particularly sane at that moment.
